The jetsetting jihadist was about to hop onto another plane, this time to go to Singapore. “Bomb plot suspect arrested in Brisbane,” from Australia’s ABC News (thanks to JE):
A 27-year-old man has been arrested in Brisbane in connection with the attempted car bombings in London and Glasgow.
Queensland Premier Peter Beattie confirmed the man had been arrested at Brisbane International Airport last night and a number of search warrants were being executed across south-east Queensland.
Reports said the man had been arrested as he tried to board a flight to Singapore.
Mr Beattie said Attorney-General Philip Ruddock had decided against upgrading Australia’s level of terrorist threat, which remains at medium.
Earlier British police confirmed that an eighth suspect had been arrested but would only say the person was detained at an “undisclosed location.”
