Last year’s Awards Banquet
Well, it’s that time of the year again, my friends: nominations are hereby open for the coveted Jihad Watch annual awards!
First, the raspberries:
1. American Dhimmi of the Year 2007.
2. Dhimmi Internationale of the Year 2007.
These should, of course, be those who behaved in the past year in the most pusillanimous, abject, and/or suicidally stupid ways in the face of Islamic supremacist bullying and intimidation, peaceful or violent.
Then there are the heroes:
3. American Anti-Dhimmi of the Year 2007.
4. Anti-Dhimmi Internationale of the Year 2007.
I encourage you to search through the archives here — on both the Jihad Watch and Dhimmi Watch sides — and you will find many, many worthy candidates for both honor and dishonor. Please take a moment and scan back to January, or as far as you can, if you’d like to make a nomination: there are many worthies from earlier in the year who could be forgotten.
Please nominate individuals, not groups or entire nations or secret societies.
Jihad Watch staff and relatives of staff are not eligible for either the Dhimmi or the Anti-Dhimmi prizes. Yes, that means you, Hugh.
You can read about the 2006 winners here and the 2005 winners here. Alas, this year we will not have a Cox and Forkum cartoon commemorating the awards banquet, but it still promises to be a memorable event.
ADDENDUM: For your reference, here are previous winners. They can be chosen again, but you might prefer to honor others who have not yet been honored:
2005:
American Dhimmi: Ramsey Clark
Dhimmi Internationale: George Galloway
American Anti-Dhimmi: Tom Tancredo
Anti-Dhimmi Internationale: Oriana Fallaci
2006:
American Dhimmi: Jimmy Carter
Dhimmi Internationale: Jacques Chirac
American Anti-Dhimmi: John Bolton
Anti-Dhimmi Internationale: John Howard and Geert Wilders
UPDATE: I’m happy to announce that Cox and Forkum will be covering our Awards Banquet this year after all. So stay tuned.
