Conspiracies against Islam: bin Laden, al-Zawahri, and the other “hijackers”? Nope: conspiracies by “the enemies of Islam” designed to “weaken this religion of peace.” A bit of introspection would be welcome in this context, but in this piece everyone seems preoccupied with outside enemies. Muslims must work toward the “achievement of the cherished goal of unity and reclaiming the lost glory.” What lost glory, specifically?

The enemies of Islam have always been hatching conspiracies to weaken this religion of peace, however, Muslims can foil such nefarious designs by forging unity in their ranks and sincerely abiding by the golden principles of Islam in every sphere of life.
According to a press release, this was stated by Pir Muhammad Naqib-ur-Rehman, custodian of Eidgah shrine, while addressing the concluding ceremony of three-day Eid Milad-un-Nabi (peace be upon him) celebrations at Eidgah Sharif here Monday. Thousands of devotees of Eidgah shrine from all over the country and abroad attended the concluding ceremony. Prominent religious scholars, spiritual figures, legislators, federal and provincial ministers and senior officials of local administration attended the ceremony.
“Only through unity the Muslims can thwart the plots against their faith while the unity can be forged by promoting reverence and love for the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him),” he said. “It is the need of the hour that the Muslims belonging to different schools of thought shun their petty differences for achievement of the cherished goal of unity and reclaiming the lost glory,” he added….
