Comments by David G. Littman of the Association for World Education, UN-Geneva.
After a series of articles on Stealth Jihad at the United Nations here and here, my last coverage was OIC at the UN: “˜Dialogue for Dhimmis” & more “˜Stealth Jihad”, on the three consecutive celebrations at the UN in Geneva (December 10, 12 and 19) of the 60th anniversary of the 1948 Universal Declaration of Human Rights. When describing the OIC–sponsored December 19 day-event, “OIC Inter-institutional Forum on Universal Shared Values: Challenges & New Paradigms”, I had not consulted the rare gems of hate in two books that I acquired outside the recently inaugurated “Alliance of Civilizations” Room XX, with its grandiose ceiling of stalactites.
At that OIC-sponsored conference, worries were once again expressed about the “˜defamation of religions”, which inevitably refers to Islam and “Islamophobia”. Here are two examples:
Prof. Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu, Secretary-General of the OIC:
What we are concerned about is the tendency of a new episode of extremist behaviour against the adherents of a particular religion who are currently subjects of defamation, incitement to hatred, violence and racial discrimination.
Ambassador Saad Eddin Taib, advisor to the OIC Secretary General made a suggestion:
What is needed is practical, local and international mechanisms to address acts of incitement to religious or racial hatred which constitute a dangerous threat for the preservation of peace and harmony among communities.
Following this OIC advice from Moroccan Ambassador Taib, we decided to act vigorously on the grotesque contents of two books published by the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO) — a wing of the Organization of the Islamic Conference and with strong links to UNESCO in new projects involving up to five billion dollars — that were displayed during the December 19 day-event organised by the OIC, with a final reception.
Below is our PUBLIC COMPLAINT addressed to the UN Secretary-General, the Director-General of the UN in Geneva, the President of the Human Rights Council, the High Commissioner for Human Rights and the Director-General of UNESCO — and a documentary report on the books” contents: crude defamation of Judaism and Jews (even with a Nazi forgery) that cries out for condemnation.

Your Excellencies,
As each one of you is directly or indirectly concerned by this grave matter, we wish to lodge a general public complaint. It relates to the misuse by the OIC of a public event at the Palais des Nations — in commemoration of the 60th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights — in order to make available two ISESCO publications containing passages that maliciously falsify ancient history, defame Judaism, propagate hatred of Jews — directly or under the guise of anti-Zionism — and distil an infamous Nazi forgery, denounced as such 70 years ago.
We are attaching the following information to support this serious accusation:
1) An explanatory page regarding the event itself and some background data;
2) Six pages of extracts from the two ISESCO books, to which we refer;
3) I have made two comments in our submission, providing refutations, but will not address all the obvious gross exaggerations and inaccuracies;
4) Presumably, these publications may be found in the UN Libraries. I will have with me my copy of each book when I hand the envelope to your respective secretaries at the Palais des Nations this morning.Yours respectfully,

DOCUMENTATION CONCERNING
Two books — published by the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO) — containing crude “˜defamation of a religion” (Judaism) and including the propagation of blatant lies and Nazi forgeries, were made available at a special UN event on 19 December 2008, sponsored by the OIC.

On 19 December 2008, two major ISECO publications (168 / 350 pp.) containing “˜defamation of religion” (Judaism), deformation of history, the propagation of blatant lies and Nazi forgeries were displayed on a table for visitors during a full day”s event at the Palais des Nations (outside the newly inaugurated “˜Alliance of Civilization” Room XX). The Opening Session was followed by two human rights session, an interactive dialogue with participants & invitees, an exhibition of materials and paintings and live musical entertainments, ending with a reception at 6:30 p.m.

A programme of cooperation was signed last year for 2008-2009 between ISESCO and UNESCO by Director General, Dr Abdullaziz Othman Altwaijri and Ditrect-General Mr Koïchiro Matsuura. “With a budget of five billion dollars, the new cooperation programme will implement 128 activities covering the fields of education, science culture, communication, external relations and the national commissions.” And “ISESCO and UNESCO also agreed to organize training sessions for the staff working in the National Commissions for Education, Science and Culture in the Member States.”
At the ninth ISESCO-UNESCO Joint meeting in May 2006 (Rabat, Morocco), mention was made of the framework of an official agreement signed between the two Organizations in 1984 and their growing cooperation, and the UNESCO director expressed his “great pleasure” at the growing cooperation with
ISESCO, stating that past agreements are “producing important results.” Mr Matsuura is quoted as saying in his concluding remarks that: “Dialogue among Civilizations and respect for religion also forms an important part of the Organization’s work.” Reference is made to the decision taken by the 174th Session of the Board on: “Respect for freedom of expression and respect for sacred beliefs and values and religious and cultural symbols.” ( ISESCO website)* * * * *

Foreword by Dr. Abdulaziz Othman Altwaijri, Director General of ISESCO
The Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation, in publishing this book today, as it published in 1995 a similarly important documenting book on the symposium of Al-Quds and its cultural and civilisational heritage, hopes that its efforts contribute to enlightening the international public opinion, uncovering the crimes of the Israeli occupation and establishing irrefutable and convincing proof against Israel’s ravages in Palestine and irreparable damages to its Islamic and Christian holy sites. May Allah grant us success. (p. 8)

Message of His Majesty Mohammed VI, King of Morocco
In the face of this truth that bestows on several Palestinian towns and villages a particular status for Muslims and Christians alike, the Israeli occupation forces are pursuing, as part of their continuous aggression against the Palestinian people with all their Islamic and Christian denominations, their policy of Judaisation of the different landmarks, monuments and holy sites. (p. 10)This policy started with the partition decision in 1948 by the bombing of Al-Aqsa Mosque which sustained damages and cracks. It [sic] policy continued with the occupation of the city of Al-Quds Al-Sharif in 1967, when the Israelis broke into the Mosque and profaned it as a prelude to the fire they set there in 1969. (*) This tragic event prompted our late father His Majesty King Hassan II to convene the Islamic Conference in Casablanca in the same year.
———————————————————————————————————————-
(*)Comment by DGL: This affirmation,”a prelude to the fire they set there in 1969″, that Israel set fire to the Al-Aqsa mosque in 1969 is similar to the false accusation by Yassir Arafat and other Arabs. In fact, it was an Australian evangelical Christian who attempted to burn down Al-Aqsa Mosque. Michael Dennis Rohan gained worldwide infamy on August 21, 1969, when he tried to set fire to the Al-Aqsa mosque, located atop the Temple Mount in Jerusalem.Rohan was arrested for the arson attack on August 23, 1969. Rohan, a Christian, and considering himself “the Lord’s emissary”, stated that he tried to destroy the al-Aqsa Mosque acting upon divine instructions to enable the Jews of Israel to rebuild the Temple on the Temple Mount in accordance with the Book of Zechariah, thereby hastening the second coming of Jesus as the Messiah to rule the world for one thousand years. He was tried in Israel, found to be insane, hospitalized in a mental institution and later deported from Israel. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michael_Dennis_Rohan)

Gentlemen,
The acts of destruction and distortion committed by the occupation authorities to distort the facts and truths of history cause serious damage to the Islamic and Christian holy sites and violate their sanctity and the values they embody for all the believers of the different religions.
They are hence criminal acts that the international law condemns and international legality rejects through the resolutions of the United Nations Security Council and General Assembly, those of UNESCO’s General Conference and of the other concerned international forums that consider these acts as an aggression against all humanity. In fact, Islamic and Christian holy sites in Palestine constitute precious universal heritage and are places of worship and reverence evocative of memories and stances that are an integral part of the region’s religious history.
Therefore, it is incumbent upon your honourable Conference to review these Islamic and Christian holy sites, recall their history, shed light on the painful situation they suffer under the yoke of Israeli occupation, draw attention to the dangers besieging them in the present and the future, and make Muslims and Christians throughout the world aware of their responsibility and of the role they should play in protecting this common religious heritage. (p. 11)

Address by Dr Abdulaziz Othman Altwaijri, Director General of ISESCO
The crimes against humanity committed by Israel have reached an extent of oppression, injustice and aggression that humanity has never witnessed, neither in this age nor in previous ages. Israel has ignored and flagrantly violated international laws, and in so doing, openly defies the whole international community with unprecedented power-induced arrogance and tyranny. The Israeli aggression included the Palestinian man as a person, the infrastructure of the Palestinian society, Palestinian facilities and institutions, the Islamic and Christian Palestinian holy sites and the Palestinian historical monuments and landmarks. This aggression encompasses human beings, buildings and places of worship, such as mosques, churches, monasteries and zawiyahs. It did not even spare graveyards and mausoleums. (p. 8)

First Axis: History of Islamic and Christian Holy Sites in Palestine
Article by Archbishop Cyrille Salim Bustros — “Archbishop of Baalbek and its sub-ordinates of the Roman Catholic Church — Chairman of the Middle Council of Churches”:
Al-Quds in Christian Thought
Al-Quds, the city of holiness, in the hands of the Zionists, has become today a trading centre where Arab Christians and Muslims are expelled and substituted with Jews.
Al-Quds, which should be a house of prayer for all nations, has become in the hands of the Zionists a den of thieves where innocents and whoever claims a right and justice is killed.
Today, the Jews allege that Al-Quds belongs to them only. They have made it the capital of their Zionist state, arguing that it is the land of their ancestors since Ibrahim. If only they followed the example of this ancestor, who accepted to sacrifice his own son for the love of God. Instead, they have no qualms about killing the children of the others for the sake of their racist ambitions. John the Baptist, the great prophet who prepared for the advent of Jesus and called people to repent their sins to God, told the Jews: “O generation of vipers, who hath warned you to flee from the wrath to come? Bring forth therefore fruits meet for repent-ance, and think not to say within yourselves We have Abraham to our father: for I say unto you, that God is able of these stones to raise up children unto Abraham”[Matthew 3: 7-8]. (p. 37)
The sons of Ibrahim are those who believe in the God of Ibrahim, namely in the One God, Creator of all humans, and acknowledge all people as their brothers with no discrimination and no distinction, for all people are creatures of Allah, the Cherisher and Sustainer of the worlds, as Muslims say, and sons of the One God, the Father and Commander, as Christians say. The sons of Ibrahim are those who accept to sacrifice what is most precious to them in faith and in obedience to His commands. God does not order us to murder the fellow humans he created in His shape and model. He does not order us either to exterminate and enslave people who hail from a different race and religion. He rather enjoins us to be merciful, humane, just and peace loving. (p. 37)
Third Axis: Perils Threatening Islamic & Christian Holy Sites in Palestine
Article by Rael Yusuf Najm — “Jordanian Centre of Irrigation, Amman, Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan”:
The City of Al-Quds and the Dangers Besetting it
Al-Buraq Wall is not part of their alleged Temple
This wall constitutes the south-western part of the wall of the holy al-Aqsa Mosque. It is about 47m long and 17m high. Though the Jews use it nowadays as a place of worship, it has never been part of the Jewish Temple. It is Islamic tolerance that enabled Jews to pray in front of this wall. Also, when the Torah mentions the western wall, it does not necessarily mean the western wall of Al-Aqsa Mosque. Moreover, it was only in the sixteenth century that this wall became a place of worship for Jews. (p. 97)
The story of the alleged Temple in the Torah
In this part we will demonstrate the inconsistencies existing in the books of the Torah with regard to the Temple, its materials and measurements, which lack of consistency proves that these texts do not have a single origin. These very texts cast doubt on what is said about the Temple in Old Testament, written seven hundred years after the death of Moses, peace be upon him. The truth that emerges here is that the shape, location and measurements of the Temple are legendary and were used by Zionism as a religious means to draw the Jews of the world to Palestine and convince the world that Al-Quds is the unified and eternal capital of the new Israel and that the new Temple has to be erected in the same spot where it stood in ancient Israel. In truth, only the religious Islamic and Christian landmarks that have survived time since the Byzantine era are the definitive religious constants existing today. As for the Jewish Temple, it was built in an unknown place, then it was destroyed and pulled apart after which its real site became unknown. The Gospel of St Matthew confirms this. [24: 1-2] (p. 99)
Co-operation between Nazis and Zionists
A certain complementarity [sic] existed between the roles of Zionism and Nazism, and eventually led to the establishment of a new and powerful state.
The Zionist leaders co-operated with those of the Nazi movement. This co-operation culminated in the agreements concluded between Rudolph Kastner, the vice-president of the Zionist Institution, and Eichmann, the German Nazi leader, allowing thousands of Jews to immigrate legally to Palestine.
Zionists assisted Hitler’s administration in preventing the immigration of Jews to any place other than Palestine. This facilitated the execution of Hitler’s massacres in Germany. In 1939, the Swedish government passed a law that gave thousands of Jews the right to enter Sweden from Germany. Yet, the Zionist Chief Rabbi of Sweden, Dr. Ehrenpreis, asked the government of Sweden not to enact that law. Rabbi Schonfeld, who testified to that, said that even if Jews faced death, no one had the right to give them refuge other than in the land of Israel.
Below we review some events that illustrate this fascist Zionist law and the Nazi Zionist co-operation: [15 “˜examples” of these grave allegation are given before the conclusion]
Thus, the extent of arrogance the World Zionist Movement uncovered the abuse perpetrated against justice and righteousness and the barbarian practices that were used under the cover of peace, the notion of the persecuted nation, the holocaust and the quest for safety. The true essence of the Zionist movement and of its state has also become obvious: a racist power that allies itself with every evil in this world to achieve its objectives. (pp. 107-109)
The ancient Israeli kingdom fiction
The fiction of the ancient Israeli kingdom eclipses the long Palestinian history. Jewish or Zionist researchers focused on ancient Israel in such a way that prevented the study of ancient Palestinian history.
Any researcher digging deep in Torahic studies section of a European or American library, will find a wealth of publications that pore over the Torahic texts used as a reference to reconstruct history and use archaeology finds to make it closer to Torahic texts.
The history of ancient Israel was forged for contemporary political and geographical aims. Western researchers contributed to this when, despite their efforts to remain objective, they could not prevent subjectivity and produced studies that contain contradictions and erroneous assumptions. They portrayed an image of ancient Israel reflected in the mirror of the present one, and ruled by their desire for the existence of a Jewish state with European nationalism; that is to say, a new Israel as fabricated as the ancient Israel. (pp. 109-110)
Archaeological excavations in the service of Torahic false allegations
The corrupt nature of the Jews made it impossible for them to live in peace with all the peoples of the world. The Babylonians made slaves of them, the Romans persecuted them, the Byzantines were hostile to them and the Europeans and Americans were wary of them, as was expressed by Benjamin Franklin who, when drawing up the American constitution, demanded that it should include a clause forbidding Jews from entering America. (*) As the result of their antagonistic actions, the Jews had to live in Diaspora for long years. Then their leaders thought of establishing the Zionist Movement to gather all the Jews in one place. (p. 113)
—————————————————————————————————————-
* Comment by DGL: This is an alleged speech by Benjamin Franklin at the Constitutional Convention of 1787, warning the convention against the admission of Jews in America. If they did not take the necessary measures, Franklin is said to have warned his colleagues, they would be cursed by their children and grand-children. But this speech is not by Benjamin Franklin. It is a forgery widely circulated by Nazi propaganda during the 1930s. (See Franklin Institute News, Philadelphia, vol. 13 (1938), no. 4, pp. 1-2; Commentary, New York, vol. 22 (1956), p. 537). This Nazi-period forgery was revived in a lecture (Department of Public Administration, University of Beirut) by the Director-General of the Lebanese Ministry for Foreign Affairs, Fuad Ammun, a Maronite. (Dirasat “˜an hokum at Lubnan / Studies in Lebanese Government, Beirut, 1956). See Elie Kedourie The Chatham House Version & other Middle East Studies, London, 1970, p. 338; note 72, p. 456. This crude forgery — like The Protocols of the Learned Elders of Zion — is often used in the Arab world. In 1986, a Palestinian-Christian, Swiss professor of law, Sami Aldeeb, reproduced it in a pamphlet: “Point de vue d”un chrétien de Palestine”, widely distributed in Switzerland. (See David Littman, “Les liaisons dangereuses”, Courrier, Tribune de Genève, 5 mars 1997).* * * * *

Address by Dr Abdulaziz Othman Altwaijri, Director General of ISESCO
Time does not allow for an in-depth review of the tragedies, threats and challenges, nor for a detailed analysis of the conditions prevailing in Palestine. Suffice it to say that all holy sites and sanctities in the Palestinian territories, Islamic and Christian alike, are under serious threats that exceed in their magnitude the danger to peace and security, in this holy land and in the whole world, and all that was committed against it in the past. (p. 17)
Our responsibilities toward Islamic and Christian holy sites in Palestine spring from our commitment at the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation, to the Palestinian cause which we all believe to be the essence of all issues and the supreme task in the Muslim world and the eastern Christian circles that are part of our Arab and Islamic civilisation..(p.18)

Role of Palestinian Civil Society in the Protection of Holy Sites in Palestine
Article by Adnane Ibrahim Hassan Al Subah, “President of the Jenine Information Centre
Jenine, State of Palestine”Inheritors of All Holy Sites
We need to start by fostering in the Palestinian society, Muslims, Christians and anti-Zionist Jews alike, the conviction that they are the real inheritors and custodians of all these holy sites. Allah (SWT) has honoured us to the exclusion of all other people, by entrusting us with the duty of defending His holy sites, His holy books and “We make no difference between any of His messengers.” Muslims bear the heaviest responsibility in implementing this vision, Islam being the religion of tolerance that recognises all divine books, honours all prophets and messengers and, in so doing, becomes the religion of tolerance and loftiness, the unifier of all divine religions, and the one religion that cannot accept faith-based discrimination and chauvinism. (p. 253)
Enemies of the Almighty
Jews are the enemies of Allah, the enemies of faith and of the worship of Allah. From the day they settled in the land of Palestine, they have sought to obliterate its Arab identity by demolishing, closing or converting Islamic and Christian holy sites, in the lands of 1948, into premises for other purposes, including some unholy ones, and undermining old houses and Arab neighbourhoods of which some were totally destroyed and others used for conveying a false Jewish significance. The owners of other houses have been prevented from restoring them to accelerate their collapse and have them replaced by new Western style houses, bent on conferring a Western Jewish character on all of Palestine. Everyone appreciates the extent of the discrimination which Eastern Jewish doctrines experienced in the West, but the Zionist have not ended their discrimination against other religions, and even other prophets who are supposedly from the Israelites. People familiar with the Torah, which we believe to have been distorted, know the extent of the evils they attribute to their prophets, corruption, treachery, fornication or approval of it. It is with these facts that we need to arm ourselves when we confront the Zionist propaganda in the world with tangible facts, as part of our defence of the faith and the faithful on earth, wherever they may be. Instead of preaching adherence to one religion against another, this approach is more likely to establish a bond between the faithful of the earth. In our information efforts, we need to target the simple Jew and expose the anti-faith Zionist regime. To this end, it would be beneficial to call for the organisation of a conference of the world’s faithful that would homogenise the perception of holy sites, pave the way for containing of Zionist movements and expose their shameful practices against Islamic and Christian holy sites. These practices should be exposed to the international community as a violation of human rights and a blatant breach of international conventions, treaties and pacts, and of the civilisational values of modern societies. It would also be beneficial to urge the United Nations Organisation and other affiliated organisations to discharge their duty in defending the lofty principles for which they were created. (pp. 253-254)
History Robbers
They are stealing everything, from falafel to humus, clothes and the old bricks of houses that they use to build their institutions and temples to convey an impression of ancientness and prove that they had initially been there before everybody else. Palestinians know very well the traders of old bricks financed by the Israelis to steal old stones and bricks and use them in rebuilding their institutions and houses. The latter can thus be presented to their children and future visitors as ancient houses that prove beyond doubt their presence on this land goes back to ancient times. They have even usurped ancestry, appropriating before the eyes of the Arabs, who did not lift a finger, the Semitic lineage and making anti-Semitism a synonym of anti-Judaism. Zionists even accuse Semitic Arabs of being anti-Semitic. They usurped and desecrated holy sites. The Zionist movement has highly trained teams specialising in hunting, stealing and bringing to Israel everything related to them. The role played by Zionist gangs in Palestine is the most eloquent example. Furthermore, the Israelis hold the undisputed record of the propensity for falsifying history before the eyes of the world at an age of globalisation and high-speed communication between the four corners of the world.
