Aslam taslam, infidel
Absurd, you say? Not really. The sheikh in question (Omar Bakri) probably had the Jinn in mind. Consider: 1) The Jinn (or “Genies”) are inhabitants of other worlds, specifically, Alam al-Malakut, or the immaterial, “ether” worlds, and so, in modern parlance, can be seen as “aliens” living in “other worlds”; 2) Muhammad was sent as a “messenger” to both humans and Jinn (Koran 51:55-56); 3) Some Jinn do “convert” to Islam (Koran 72: 1-2).
Perhaps you think the realm of “Jinn studies” interests only, say, Sufis, or “abstract-thinking” Muslims? In fact, one of the greatest representatives of jihad against infidels, the Hanbali Sheikh of Islam, Ibn Taymiyya (c.1300s), who is still quoted regularly by modern-day jihadists, wrote an entire treatise dealing with the Jinn (“The Difference between the Allies of the Merciful and the Allies of Satan”), demonstrating that the question of the Jinn is indeed relevant to Islam.
“Hate preacher Omar Bakri instructs followers to convert aliens to Islam,” from the Daily Mail, January 3 (thanks to Kyros):
Exiled hate preacher Omar Bakri has ordered his followers to convert aliens to Islam.
The extraordinary instruction was issued during a bizarre rant posted on an extremist website.
The Syrian-born imam, who is notorious for praising the 9/11 bombers, told Muslims to not only spread the religion across the world, but across the galaxy. He said: ‘We are obliged as Muslims to make the whole galaxy subservient to almighty Allah.
‘Allah has created all living beings to obey him and worship him.’
A security source is reported to have said: ‘Perhaps he could show his people the way – it would give everyone a break if he was beamed up.’
The rant, which appeared on an extremist website, comes after Bakri claimed he had recently been stopped from using the internet to preach to followers in the UK.
Since one of Islam’s standard methods of converting others is to wage jihad against them, apparently it was only a matter of time before Holy War was declared against the infidel Jinn of the universe — and whatever other “aliens” may be out there.
