No bubble and squeak for Moussawi
This redresses part of the howling injustice of barring freedom fighter Geert Wilders from Britain while allowing in a jihad leader. But barring them both only equates them. Now Britain needs to apologize to Wilders and invite him to address the British Parliament. I won’t be holding my breath.
An update on this story. “Exclusive: Islamic fanatic Ibrahim Moussawi barred from entering Britain,” by James Slack for the Daily Mail, March 13 (thanks to Peter):
Islamic fanatic Ibrahim Moussawi was today denied a visa to enter Britain.
Jacqui Smith has ruled the spokesman for the terrorist organisation Hezbollah should not be allowed to travel here – despite him making at least two previous visits to the UK on her watch.
The Mail understands the Home Secretary ruled his presence here – where he was due to lecture Government officials – would not be ‘conducive to the public good’.
Moussawi, who had been invited to speak on ‘political Islam’ at the School of Oriental and African Studies later this month, is a newspaper editor for the Lebanon-based terrorist organisation Hezbollah’s newspaper.
He is a former political editor of the Iranian-backed group’s television station, which has been banned in many countries including France, Spain and the US where its output is seen as anti-Semitic.
Al-Manar television – the Arabic word for ‘beacon’ – is Hezbollah’s main mouthpiece in the Middle East and around the world, broadcasting from Beirut.
It describes itself as the ‘station of resistance’ and campaigns on behalf of Hezbollah and against the state of Israel, and American and British policy in the Middle East. It routinely describes fighters who are killed and suicide bombers as ‘martyrs’, and condemns Israeli forces as criminals.
The station has also been widely condemned for anti-Semitism after it broadcast a 30-part series based on The Protocols of the Elders of Zion, a forged document setting out a supposed secret Jewish conspiracy to take over the world….
