The deputy speaker of the parliament Osman Elmi Boqorre, said the parliament would discuss the Islamic Law enforcement today.
“The Parliament is discussing the implementation of the Sharia today and I think it would not be difficult to pass the Law,” said Mr. Boqorre.
The cabinet ministers of the Somali government had approved the proposal which many Somali people welcomed.
The President of Somalia, Sheik Sharif Sheik Ahmed promised to rule the country with Sharia when he was elected to end the insurgency, but al-Shabab faction rejected the proposal and described “hypocritical.”
Islamic clerics and clan elders have been demanding from the government to quickly implement the Sharia Law.
