Who said that? Some pro-Israel European neofascist? Some pro-Israel American cryptofascist neo-Nazi sympathizer? No, this one doesn’t come from the realm of mythical beasties — this one is from a “poem” published by the Saudi poet Sa’d Al-Bawardi in the Saudi daily Al-Jazirah. Here, then, is a glimpse at what our Friend and Ally enjoys as a bit of light reading after a hard day counting oil money.
But first, a Projection Alert from Kuwait — an adherent of a supremacist, expansionist and violent religious belief system accuses its chief victim of the same tendencies:
[…] Similar remarks are made in an article by columnist ‘Ali Balout in the Kuwaiti daily Al-Jarida. He states that, in attacking Gaza, Israel was implementing directives appearing in the Talmud, and that the ultimate aim of the Jewish people is to take over the world:
“The big question is: why be so cruel and kill innocent civilians, especially children? Was it a mistake, or was it an accidental consequence of the fighting? [The answer is] neither. [Their conduct was the reflection of] an ancient ideology [that is part of] Jewish history and comes from the book that they call the Talmud”¦ One of the psalms in the Talmud says: ‘As for their children, one must focus on killing them and on dashing them against the walls. Pulverize their skulls until no trace is left of them.’
Al-Ahram columnist Fahmi Howeidy, according to a 2001 article in Al-Ahram, “sees every Israeli as a legitimate target. ‘Every Israeli in Palestine is usurping something, including the air they breathe,’ he told Al-Ahram Weekly. According to him, there are no civilians in Israel. ‘They are either conscripts waiting to be drafted, or reserve soldiers on vacation,’ he said.”
Dr. Kamal Al-Hilbawi, director of the London Center for the Study of Terrorism and former Muslim Brotherhood spokesman: “I condemn the targeting of any civilian, but incidentally, I believe that every Israeli civilian is a future soldier….Even if he is a child. A child born in Israel is raised on the belief that [the Arabs] are like contemptible sheep, and that this is a land without a people, and they are a people without a land. They have very strange concepts. In elementary school, they pose the following math problem: ‘In your village, there are 100 Arabs. If you killed 40, how many Arabs would be left for you to kill?’ This is taught in the Israeli curriculum. What would you say about that? Should a child studying this be considered a civilian? He is a future soldier.” He is saying, in other words, that Israeli children can and should be killed.
“The violence in Gaza, which focuses on children, may be anchored in the Talmud”¦ [Its] objective is to realize a religious prophecy, which takes the form of a directive. [This directive is obeyed by] Jews who espouse the principles set out in the Talmud and strive to implement them.
“As far as [the Jews] are concerned, the occupation of Palestine is [only] the first step in a long journey [whose ultimate goal] is to take over the entire world and use its resources, according to the right granted to them by the Talmudic authority”¦ Some might say that this [belief] is pure nonsense, and indeed it is. However, Israel is controlled today by the followers of the Talmud, who wish to realize this fairytale, no matter how long it takes, and who base their behavior upon it, out of a deep conviction in the correctness of their beliefs”¦
Former Foreign Minister and Hamas leader Mahmoud Al-Zahhar: “The prophetic foundation is the message of the prophet Muhammad, that Islam will enter every house and will spread over the entire world.”
Iran’s President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad: “Have no doubt… Allah willing, Islam will conquer what? It will conquer all the mountain tops of the world.”
“Israel’s talk about peace is a temporary [tactic] that is not to be trusted, because the Talmud instructs the Jews to lie, deceive and use every method that is immoral by the lights of both the ancient world and the modern one. All this, in order to achieve their goals”¦
Qur’an 3:28 warns Muslims not to take unbelievers as “friends or helpers” (َأَوْلِيَا “” a word that means more than casual friendship, but something like alliance), “unless (it be) that ye but guard yourselves against them.” This is a foundation of the idea that believers may legitimately deceive unbelievers when under pressure. The word used for “guard” in the Arabic is tuqātan (تُقَاةً), the verbal noun from taqiyyatan “” hence the increasingly familiar term taqiyya. Ibn Kathir says that the phrase given above as “unless (it be) that ye but guard yourselves against them” means that “believers who in some areas or times fear for their safety from the disbelievers” may “show friendship to the disbelievers outwardly, but never inwardly. For instance, Al-Bukhari recorded that Abu Ad-Darda” said, “˜We smile in the face of some people although our hearts curse them.” Al-Bukhari said that Al-Hasan said, “˜The Tuqyah [taqiyya] is allowed until the Day of Resurrection.”
While many Muslim spokesmen today maintain that taqiyya is solely a Shi”ite doctrine, shunned by Sunnis, the great Islamic scholar Ignaz Goldziher points out that while it was formulated by Shi”ites, “it is accepted as legitimate by other Muslims as well, on the authority of Qur’an 3:28.” The Sunnis of Al-Qaeda practice it today.
And now onto the Heil-Hitlering (to borrow a phrase from Hugh):
In a poem he published in the Saudi daily Al-Jazirah, Saudi poet Sa’d Al-Bawardi portrays Hitler as merciful compared to the Jews, who are described as “apes” and “wild pigs.”
“You were merciful, oh Hitler.
“[That is my conclusion] when I see around me
“The cruel acts
“Of the descendants of apes.
“You were wise, oh Hitler
“To rid the world
“Of some of these wild pigs.
“[But] they have spawned a gang
“[Whose heart] is filled with blind hatred”¦
“The descendents [sic] of apes –
“None are more cruel and horrifying than they are”¦
“Their wars of destruction
“Are worse than the ‘Holocaust.’
“Destruction of the world is their motto,
“And they are implementing it in practice
“In Gaza, in the Golan and in Lebanon.
“The descendents [sic] of apes are the cruelest creatures
“That mankind has ever known”¦”
“The descendants of apes”? That, of course, is what Jews are called in the Qur’an (2:62-65; 5:59-60; 7:166).
