Never forget her
Un-Islamic behavior. More on the Ayman Udas honor killing.
“Brothers kill sister for performing on TV in Pak: Report,” from the Times of India, May 3 (thanks to Drasty):
LONDON: Ashamed of her growing popularity, two brothers allegedly shot dead their singer sister in Peshawar last week for performing on television.
The murder of Ayman Udas, who was in her early thirties, has shocked the city’s cultural community as it symbolises a backlash against women and cultural freedom in an area that is increasingly dominated by Islamic fundamentalists, ‘The Sunday Times’ reported on Sunday.
Udas sang and wrote compositions in her native Pashto language, spoken in the tribal areas and the North-West Frontier province, she also frequently performed on PTV, the state-run channel.
Despite Udas’s popularity her family felt it was sinful for women performing on television and strongly opposed her….
The final song performed by Udas on screen seems to have portended her death. It was entitled, “I died but still live among the living, because I live on in the dreams of my lover.”
A divorced mother of two, Udas had remarried ten days before she was murdered.
The killers may have felt justified by the actions of Muhammad, the “excellent example” of conduct for Muslims (Qur’an 33:21). Just today the North Carolina jihadist Samir Khan (thanks to Mike) invokes such an incident in Muhammad’s life and holds it up as exemplary:
So the most important of the jihadi actions is the liquidation of their leaders, by killing and assassination. This was confirmed in a number of separate events when Prophet Muhammad, sallallahu “˜alayhi wassallam, sent Mujahidun units as teams and special units, “˜commandos” of elite Sahabah”¦ to assassinate leaders of disbelief (ru”us al-kufr) of his, sallallahu “˜alayhi wassallam, time. These events are firmly proven. Among them is when he sent [a unit] to assassinate a female poet who was harming Allah, His Prophet and the Muslims by her poetry. So he ordered her assassination, and her tongue was silenced.
Samir, I hope Zardari and Qaddafi don’t get wind of your linking Islam with terrorism!
