Obama, in news that is no doubt unrelated, just increased jizya payments to Jordan by a cool $150 million. Will he reverse that now and demand that al-Rawabdeh retract his statement, and that Jordan back up that retraction by honest and verifiable deeds designed to increase pro-Israel sentiment in Jordan and aid in Israel’s defense? What do you think?
“Former Jordanian PM Calls Israel ‘A Cancer,'” from Israel National News, July 1 (thanks to Weasel Zippers):
(IsraelNN.com) Former Jordanian prime minister Abd Al-Raouf Al-Rawabdeh delivered a speech recently in which he called Israel “a cancer that must be eradicated.” His comment were aired on Al-Jazeera TV on June 27 and translated by the Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI). “Israel is a cancerous body. This is agreed upon,” he stated.
“Usually, you confront a cancerous body in one of two ways: If you have the power, you use it to eradicate the cancer. But if you don’t have the power, you try to contain the danger, until you obtain the power you need in order to eradicate it,” said Al-Rawabdeh.
