According to the Algerian press, five soldiers were injured on Sunday (the first day of Aid El Fitr, the holiday which marks the end of Ramadan) in the explosion of a remotely-activated bomb in Takhoukht, 30km south of Tizi Ouzou, capital city of the Kabylie region. On Saturday, another soldier was injured by a second bomb in the same area, whilst just a few kilometres away in Souk El Thenine, a group of armed men opened fire on a car in which a police officer was travelling. A soldier, writes El Watan, was killed in an explosion of a fourth bomb on Friday near Boumerdes, 50km east of Algiers. In Bouira, in Kabylie, a patriot was shot dead on the same day. (ANSAmed).
