It’s largely a dialogue of the deaf, but O’Reilly makes some commonsensical points. Honest Ibe Hooper obliquely admits that Islam is not a race (contrary to his own thuggish organization’s relentless race-victim posturing) by noting the white American jihadists John Walker Lindh and Adam Gadahn, although he weakens his point with some fatuous moral equivalence so risible that O’Reilly calls him on it. Hooper is trying to say that profiling won’t work because of people like Lindh and Gadahn, and that is true if they travel in Western dress and are in all ways indistinguishable from the general population. Profiling is thus an imperfect tool, but a necessary one — and as O’Reilly says, it certainly would have stopped Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab, the Flight 253 jihadist.
