Enjoy the Big Game! Security will be as tight as for a presidential appearance, and why? No one will say why, of course, but everyone knows it is because of the Islamic jihad threat. No radical Christians are going to blow up Cowboys Stadium. The Tamil Tigers are not on hand. The IRA is likewise AWOL. The only one who are making all these draconian and invasive security procedures necessary are Muslims.
Yet that is a great unmentionable, as are the larger questions, such as these: why are we putting up with all this inconvenience and restriction on our activities, instead of taking more effective measures to limit the possibility that Islamic jihadists would have access to Cowboys Stadium in the first place? Why are we continuing to accept the active non-cooperation with law enforcement of Muslim communities in America? Why are we not restricting Muslim immigration, as I recommended in my book Stealth Jihad in 2008, in view of the unfortunate but undeniable fact that there is no reliable way to distinguish between peaceful Muslims and potential jihadists?
No, all of that is off the table. Instead, those attending the Super Bowl are treated as if they’re the second coming of Tim McVeigh, while those who would be the second coming of Muhammad Atta laugh up their sleeves at our stupidity.
“Routine items not allowed at Cowboys Stadium on Sunday,” from the Star-Telegram, February 4 (thanks to Benedict):
As part of the increased security surrounding the Super Bowl, NFL and federal authorities are limiting what fans can bring to Cowboys Stadium.
Everyone entering the stadium must pass through a magnatometer, such as those used at airports, and get a patdown as part of the screening process. The majority of fans will enter through checkpoints on the east side of Cowboys Stadium.
Small bags are allowed, but will be searched, and jackets will be X-rayed….
Items not allowed into Cowboys Stadium include binocular cases, umbrellas, strollers, banners, noisemakers, horns, beach balls, Frisbees, containers of any type, coolers of any size, and backpacks.
