TEHRAN (FNA)- Former Iranian Intelligence Minister Ali Younesi stressed the influence of Iran’s Islamic Revolution on the current developments in the region, saying that the Iranian Revolution has served as a role model for the regional people in their uprisings against autocratic rulers.
“These regional developments are synonymous with Islamic awakening which started with the Islamic Revolution in Iran and has continued to the present day,” Younesi told FNA on Tuesday, adding that the uprisings of the regional nations are all exemplify the Islamic Revolution in Iran….
Younesi appeared optimistic about the situation in the region, and expressed pleasure in the recent and current developments in the regional countries….
Earlier, Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei had also stressed that the recent developments in North of Africa and other parts of the Muslim world signify the impacts of the Islamic awakening inspired by the Islamic Revolution in Iran.
“Today, developments in North Africa, (including) Egypt, Tunisia and some other countries have a special meaning for the Iranian nation,” Ayatollah Khamenei said in February, addressing thousands of worshipers on Tehran University campus.
“This is what was always referred to as the Islamic awakening created by the victory of the great revolution of the Iranian nation,” the Leader stated.
