Heidari also said that “standings for the revival of Islamic values is amongst the most noteworthy causes of the present uprisings.” Here again we see an Islamic leader saying that these uprisings that everyone in the Western mainstream media knows are secular and democratic and have no Islamic supremacist character at all are actually expressions of a resurgent political Islam. Heidari must be some kind of Islamophobe.

TEHRAN (FNA)- A prominent Iranian MP here on Monday underlined the Islamic roots of the current popular uprisings in the region, and called on the US and the West to avoid ignoring people’s demands.
“The US and the West have left no stone unturned in their support for dictators and those who are against democracy, and have kept mum about the righteous demands of the freedom-seeking nations,” Nourallh Heidari told FNA.
“The US is nearing its political death after uprisings in the Islamic states,” Heidari stressed.
Commenting on the root causes of the current revolutions in the region, the lawmaker said that these uprisings and revolutions are rooted in Islam and Islamic culture, reminding that “standings for the revival of Islamic values is amongst the most noteworthy causes of the present uprisings“….
“The victory of the Islamic Revolution posed a basic challenge to the US and the Wes [sic], and today, they (westerners) are forced to surrender to the power of Islam and the awakening of the nations,” the lawmaker concluded.
People in Tunisia, Egypt, Libya, Yemen, Bahrain, Morocco, Jordan and now Saudi Arabia have been staging massive street protests since February to press the dictatorial regimes in their countries to step down.
On Thursday, Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei said that the recent uprisings in North of Africa and other parts of the Muslim world signify the impacts of the Islamic awakening inspired by Iran’s Islamic Revolution.
“The arrogant front, led by the United States, is well aware that Iran’s Islamic Revolution is the role model for these popular movements,” Ayatollah Khamenei said.
