Here is a spot-on review of Pamela Geller’s essential new book, Stop the Islamization of America: A Practical Guide to the Resistance. “Shariah invasion can be ignored no more,” by Jim Fletcher for World Net Daily, September 6:
One of the things I enjoy most is learning from sophisticated people who are far removed from my background and environment, people like Oriana Fallaci and David Bar-Illan.
I was reminded recently of Fallaci, the Italian journalist who was courageous enough — and discerning enough — to see the gathering dangers from Islam. Fallaci wrote about it (“The Rage and the Pride” and “The Force of Reason”). Oriana Fallaci cared little for the long literary knives her critics produced and, apparently, did not worry much about real knives, either. Sometimes, unusually courageous people can point the way for the rest of us.
Unfortunately, Fallaci died in 2006.
But I have found my American Fallaci: Pamela Geller.
Geller, co-founder (with the wonderful Robert Spencer) of Freedom Defense Initiative, has written a must-have new book, “Stop the Islamization of America: A Practical Guide to the Resistance.” I read it in one sitting. It is like breathing clean air after being trapped in a burning building.
Geller’s blog, Atlas Shrugs, is a study in vigilance. Geller is so concerned about people understanding the creeping threat of Shariah law that she has devoted a good bit of her life to sounding the alarm. “Stop the Islamization of America” will prove to be a watershed book, I do believe.
Geller begins the book with the famous dictum from Ayn Rand that one can choose to avoid reality, but one cannot avoid the consequences of avoiding reality. What a beautiful cup of cold water in the face!
In “Stop the Islamization of America“, Geller sets out to give a thorough presentation of just how far-reaching the jihadists’ goals really are, beginning with the homegrown threat. Geller, evidently, doesn’t give a fig about incurring the wrath about groups like the Muslim Brotherhood and its front group in America, the Council on American-Islamic Relations.
In chapter 9, “The Muslim Brotherhood Project in America,” she reveals how this murderous, seventh-century Arabian devil has emerged from the sandstorm and planted its feet in the U.S.
Geller reveals that after 9/11, the Bush White House asked Swiss investigators to search the house of a banker thought to be financing al-Qaida. They found a Muslim Brotherhood document, “The Project.” Dated Dec. 1, 1982, the document centered around spreading Shariah and Islam around the globe “through a sophisticated initiative involving propaganda and subversion.” Additionally, the jihadists proposed to establish “a parallel society where the group is above the individual, godly authority above human liberty and the holy scripture above the laws.” […]
Functioning as a primer of sorts, Geller’s new book contains much practical substance, including advocating checking out the associations of your local mosque. If you live in an area with a mosque, finding out if it is linked with, say, the Islamic Association for Palestine is a matter of public record. You can ask local agencies for this information.
Geller also notes fascinating detail, such as the origin of the word “Islamophobia,” which is used to bash those sounding the alarm. It is an effective tactic, yet Geller reveals: “The very word ‘Islamophobia’ is a fictional construct, as journalist Claire Berlinski explains: ‘The neologism Islamophobia did not simply emerge ex nihilo. It was invented, deliberately, by a Muslim Brotherhood front organization, the International Institute for Islamic Thought, which is based in Northern Virginia. “¦ Abdur-Rahman Muhammad, a former member of the IIIT who has renounced the group in disgust, was an eyewitness to the creation of the word. ‘This loathsome term,’ he writes, ‘is nothing more than a thought-terminating cliché conceived in the bowels of Muslim think tanks for the purpose of beating down critics.'”…
