Will the Islamophobia never end? More on this story. “Pakistan Christian Congress condemn arrest of 16 years Christian boy under blasphemy,” from the Pakistan Christian Post, October 11 (thanks to Lachlan):
Karachi: October 11, 2012. (PCP) Dr. Nazir S Bhatti, President of Pakistan Christian Congress PCC has strongly condemned arrest of a 16 years old Christian boy Ryan Stanten from Karachi on charges of blasphemy, terrorism and cybercrimes without due investigation as assured by authorities in filing FIR under blasphemy charges.
The government of Pakistan have assured to Christian leaders after every case of blasphemy that First Information Report FIR will not be charged until high officials of the district will not order after investigating facts but such practices are never observed and a Sub-Inspector of Police files FIR on pressure of Muslim mob.
Dr. Nazir Bhatti said that filing of blasphemy charges against 16 years old Christian boy on pressure of Muslim mob is unfortunate and eye opening for government of Pakistan.
Ryan Stanten, 16 years old Christian boy, forwarded text messages to his friends from cell phone which he never read as it said “forward this message to earn good luck” which were termed to be blasphemous by Muslims.
The furious Muslim mob attacked home of Ryan in Sui Gas Colony in Gulshan-e-Iqbal Karachi where he was living with her mother who is employee of Sui Northern Gas Company.
When Muslim mob not found Ryan and her mother at home they broke in apartment and set on fire furniture chanting slogans “Death to Blasphemer” “Kill Christian Infidels”. The mob marched to other Christian home in vicinity that fled after news spread that Muslims have set on fire home of a Christian on defiling name of Prophet Mohammad.
Dr. Nazir Bhatti said “Government have failed to protect Christians from misuse of Blasphemy law from Muslims on petty personal issues”
“It is unfortunate that Momin Abad Police Station filed FIR against 16 years old Christian boy without investigation that who sent him that SMS and offered good luck on forwarding it” said Nazir Bhatti
Nazir Bhatti demanded government of Pakistan to repeal blasphemy law to prevail religious freedom in Pakistan which is harming harmony among religious communities and inciting extremist’s elements to target activists like Malala Yusufzai.
Nazir Bhatti said that Blasphemy laws are root cause of spreading extremism and terrorism in Pakistan.
