Ten years? Only ten years for plotting mass murder on a large scale? “Man faces prison for NYC synagogue bomb plot,” from the Associated Press, March 15 (thanks to Kenneth):
NEW YORK — A man who pleaded guilty to rare state-level charges that he plotted to blow up New York City synagogues could get 10 years in prison.
Ahmed Ferhani (fur-HAH’-nee) was one of two men arrested in a May 2011 weapons-buying sting. Authorities called him a home-grown terrorist out to avenge abuse of Muslims around the world.
Yes, because clearly the people in synagogues in New York City are responsible for that alleged abuse. Aren’t the Zionists responsible for everything?
His sentencing is expected Friday afternoon in Manhattan’s state Supreme Court.
His lawyers initially portrayed Ferhani, a native of Algeria, as mentally unstable. They said the prosecution was based on insufficient evidence and dubious tactics.
He pleaded guilty in December.
A grand jury declined to indict Ferhani and a co-defendant on a top-level terror conspiracy charge.
Why not? Par for the course in this age of Obama, but still: why not? What is not a “top-level terror conspiracy” about plotting to blow up synagogues?
