Carthage “” Acting President of the Republic Moncef Marzouki stressed during his meeting on Thursday with a Palestinian delegation of Hamas movement and Islamic Jihad, the importance to achieve the Palestinian reconciliation and put an end to internal divisions which, according to him, “represent, henceforth, a burden for Palestinian people’s fight.”
President Marzouki voiced Tunisia’s readiness to play an “active” role in the reconciliation between Palestinians, a statement of the Presidency of the Republic reads.
The Palestinian delegation underlined, according to the same communiqué, that the Revolution for freedom and dignity, strongly motivated the resistance of Palestinian people, saying that “Palestinians voice their heartfelt wishes for the success of Tunisia in its democratic process.”
