Tuesday’s intercept is the first time Iron Dome successfully took down a rocket headed for the city since the system was deployed around Eilat in April. Rockets fired at Eilat that month were not intercepted.
Police officials said the rocket caused no damage and no direct physical injuries. Several patients were treated for anxiety, and one woman sustained fractures when she fell scrambling for shelter, local media reported.
