The world takes this kind of thing for granted. And after all, they said they were targeting soldiers — that makes it all right, doesn’t it? The world has grown accustomed to a certain frequency of terror murder in civilian areas, with no attempt made by anyone anywhere to address the ideology that underlies and justifies such attacks. Any such attempt would be “Islamophobic.” And so just as the good people of Kampala have been told to avoid crowded places, perhaps now they should be told specifically to dine in and avoid restaurants. Having the populace cower in fear is easier than trying to address the problem at its source, which would just “offend Muslims.”

(Reuters) – The Somali Islamist militant group al Shabaab claimed responsibility for a suicide bombing on Saturday that killed at least 13 people at a restaurant popular with Ethiopian and Somali troops in the town of Baladweyne in central Somalia.
“Our main target was Ethiopian and Djibouti troops who invaded our country. They were sitting there,’ Sheikh Abdiasis Abu Musab, Al Shabaab’s military operation spokesman said.
