They should be home now. They should have been home years ago. They are in Afghanistan on a fool’s errand to no purpose and with no goal. It is suicidal. “Taliban Leader Threatens Jihad Against U.S. Troops,” from Israel National News, October 14:
Taliban leader Mullah Omar warned, Monday, an agreement between the United States and Afghanistan on maintaining a U.S. military presence in Afghanistand [sic] after 2014 would have “serious consequences”. In a statement posted on a Taliban Website, coinciding with the Muslim feast of Eid Al-Adha, he also warned the U.S. the maintenance of its bases on Afghan soil “will never be accepted” and “armed jihad will continue against them with more momentum.”
U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry and Afghan President Hamid Karzai held talks, over the weekend, regarding an agreement on the number of international troops to remain in order to train local forces.
