But they had no trouble getting back into Britain. The British Home Office was not concerned that they might adversely affect community cohesion. The British Home Office shows no sign of concern that Britain-based Muslims waging jihad in Syria might get the idea that it would be good to wage it back home as well. No, the British Home Office has no problem readmitting people like these jihad terror plotters back into the country. They’re far more concerned with keeping out anyone who might oppose them, as the spent and finished U.K. slides toward its inevitable end.
“Islamist terror suspects could have met during Syria conflict,” by Justin Davenport and Martin Bentham for the London Evening Standard, October 15:
Four Islamist terror suspects arrested by armed officers in London could have met during the Syrian conflict, it emerged today.
Anti-terror detectives are continuing to question the men at a south London police station amid fears that they were plotting a gun attack in the capital.
The four men are all British nationals and are from different ethnic backgrounds: Turkish, Algerian, Pakistani and Azerbaijani. They are not known to have obvious common links and one possibility is that they met in the Syrian conflict.
Police said six addresses across London were being searched but would not say if weapons had been found.
CCTV footage has emerged of one of the arrests, in Westbourne Grove at about 7pm on Sunday. The black-and-white footage, from the 65 & King bar, shows counter-terrorism officers wrestling a 28-year-old suspect to the ground outside the Planet Organic store before four cars pull up.
Witness Ramin Massodi described the man, who is of Azerbaijani origin, as “handsome”. He saw the drama unfold from inside the Persian restaurant where he works
At the same time, armed police fired ammunition designed to burst tyres as a car was stopped in Mansell Street, near the Tower of London. Two men, both aged 25, were arrested. One is of Turkish origin and the other of Algerian origin.
A 29-year-old man of Pakistani origin was arrested in Peckham during the MI5-assisted operation.
All the men have been detained on the suspicion of the commission, preparation or instigation of acts of terrorism.
