Is there anyone anywhere in the world who doesn’t know at this point that the Iranians played John Kerry for a fool? “Iranian official on nuke deal: ‘We did not agree to dismantle anything,'” by Tom Cohen for CNN, January 22 (thanks to all who sent this in):
(CNN) — Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif insisted Wednesday that the Obama administration mischaracterizes concessions by his side in the six-month nuclear deal with Iran, telling CNN in an exclusive interview that “we did not agree to dismantle anything.”
Zarif told CNN Chief National Security Correspondent Jim Sciutto that terminology used by the White House to describe the agreement differed from the text agreed to by Iran and the other countries in the talks — the United States, Britain, France, Russia, China and Germany.
“The White House version both underplays the concessions and overplays Iranian commitments” under the agreement that took effect Monday, Zarif said in Davos, Switzerland, where he was attending the World Economic Forum.
As part of the accord, Iran was required to dilute its stockpile of uranium that had been enriched to 20%, well above the 5% level needed for power generation but still below the level for developing a nuclear weapon.
In addition, the deal mandated that Iran halt all enrichment above 5% and “dismantle the technical connections required to enrich above 5%,” according to a White House fact sheet issued in November after the initial agreement was reached.
Zarif accused the Obama administration of creating a false impression with such language.
“The White House tries to portray it as basically a dismantling of Iran’s nuclear program. That is the word they use time and again,” he said, urging Sciutto to read the actual text of the agreement. “If you find a single, a single word, that even closely resembles dismantling or could be defined as dismantling in the entire text, then I would take back my comment.”
He repeated that “we are not dismantling any centrifuges, we’re not dismantling any equipment, we’re simply not producing, not enriching over 5%.”
“You don’t need to over-emphasize it,” Zarif said of the White House language. A separate summary sent out by the White House last week did not use the word dismantle….

ot. this is a very hard format to follow. can anyone shed a light as why this format?

I don’t like it either, but hey, we’ll get used to it.
Cheers!

MR, you’ll get used to it, like Saleh says. I think Roberts’s tech specialist (Marc) is note yet working his magic.

too much head room
Bettina says
What is head room? I think there’s too much white space coming down vertically from the bottom of the articles downward. Also, we can’t see who’s replying to whose comment. I hope that can be remedied, as well.

The topics index is probably meant to go into a ‘tab’ like the others above, but the coder has one more ‘bug’ to fix. Thanks for the new-improved comments system.

Iran doesn’t need its own enrichment facilities to produce electricity from a reactor. Fuel may be purchased from a number of countries that produce slightly enriched fuel pellets for light water reactors. The only use for highly enriched uranium is atomic weapons. This escalation of the arms race makes the world a scarier place…something the mullahocracy wants.

Not just about Israel either, this is to bomb the world. Allah will win, we will all be gone.

“You don’t need to over-emphasize it,” Zarif said of the White House language.
He means: “You don’t have to lie.”
Obama and his gang, surrounded by the Muslim Brotherhood vermins.
They all have one thing in common: They’re all liars.
The Egyptian people understood it , put the MB leaders in jail and declared the group a terrorist organization. Will the American people do the same?

The Iranians must have been constantly laughing hard these last few years. To be presented in “neogotiations” (ie non-muslims make concessions, muslims make none. Muslims keep coming back until they have everythng they want) with Kerry, and Baroness Ashton, they must have thought the 12th imam had already arrived, and it was all over without the Armageddon bit…

More deceit from the White House along the lines of “If you like your insurance policy, you can keep it.”
Is anyone really surprised that Obama promoted peace in our time when he didn’t have any such peace agreement with Iran?
Cindy McCoy says
When are we going to wake up???? If this guy is talking he is lying, not only him but all those who work for him. What these people must be involved in, to hold things against this country or to be constantly lying for this so called president!!!!!!! This guy know nothing about anything. He funds our enemy and put such restrictions on our military!!!!! We MUST put a stop to this kinda behavior. We need to arrest him, for aiding our enemies. Does anyone agree with me???

All the Islamic despots have Kerry’s number and play him and Rasool Obama like a cheap violin. Those two are the only ones who can make the Ayatollah laugh, and Putin grin ear to ear.

Iran needs nukes to defend itself in light of US threats.
Blangwort says
Servant of Pedophile, We in the US have had the power to turn the entire Persian region in to a radioactive lake of glass for decades. We have not done so. We have left Iran to their own devices after the Iranian Revolution.
Frankly, I don’t care what becomes of Iran. But I promise you this: If Iran launches a nuclear first strike at any other country, every other nuclear power in the world will use Iran for target practice.
Iran wanted the bomb? Fine. Now let us introduce you to the concept of Assured Destruction. Use that bomb in a first strike and I guarantee it will be the last thing that anyone will see from the Persian people.
That’s not a threat. That’s the promise of self preservation of the human race.

Not just Kerry but the world is so dumbed down we will smile as they lead us to slaughter. If something happens at the Olympics, an I hope not, would this wake up the world. It is so much more than Iran, there is a cancer in this world.
[FA] says
I’m afraid at this point the only thing that will wake people up is if their friends and family are killed. I’m a 26 year old who lectures anyone on the dangers of Islam that will listen. Of all my friends not one takes it seriously. They think there is a magical barrier, a Divine Wind you might say, that protects them. As the little jihad bombings occur they still pretend they are safe because it was not their immediate flesh and blood killed or injured. Until MTV, Hollywood, or a famous rap singer says we need to address this problem they will remain ignorant. Until then smoking pot is a bigger concern to this society than ending the murder, rape, and oppression in the name of Islam.
Charlie Griffith says
I. Tell Marc the Programmer that his “new look” is just fine. It’s a cleaner, fresher, more up-to-date “look”. Kudos!, Marc!
II. Bravo!….. to the 26 year old [FA] just above who is warning all of us about the dangers of these infiltrated Muslims. I post this public “Bravo” to the 26 year old FA right here most heartily because he [she] needs to be encouraged ; I was getting the opinion that that generation was so intrigued by the 140 character-twitter-tweet “coolness” that all meaningful intelligent comment was going the ladygaga [no caps, running together deliberate] route and we’d all become grunting champanzees in a few more generations, re-learning …..first….. how to drop down out of our trees and re-learning the World around us.
Think about those haunting scenes in “2001, A Space Odyssey” with those grunting apes. Don’t let them be prescient. George Orwell has been ignored and belittled long enough.
Those squatting, grunting apes were actually expressive in their way, but why go back there by ignoring the oft-declared and very stridently declared fist-raised shouts from these Muslims that they are indeed at war with us whether we think that it’s “politically correct” or not to acknowledge that we are again in a World War, this time against the Muslims, the very Muslims who we’ve permitted to permeate the West.
Look no further than London or Paris, Dear Readers…..the lessons are right there for all to see….. if we can only overcome our smug inertia.

Not a fan of this new format. Among other negatives, it doesn’t give one a sense of overall order as the old format did. Seems like just another generic web site rather than something distinct.
Charlie Griffith says
See my …….Kudos! To Marc!……… comment.
George says
Hey, Miriam!
I’m also finding the new format less straightforward and user-friendly than the old, on a number of counts. Interesting that I can’t “reclaim my old account” because, it seems, after more than 7 years of regular check-ins and comments here…it doesn’t recognize my e-mail address! Oh well…

Charlie Griffith says
Perhaps it’s because a new “home website”…..or…..transmission “vehicle” for lack of a better term, my tech vocabulary was in use during Marconi’s era….is now is use, it seems to be something called “WordPress”.
I used to log in via “Typepad” as I don’t have a Facebook account or one of those othrs like Google+ or Facebook. “TypePress” is apparently not available now. Never liked that approach anyway. The new “vehicle” is apparently “WordPress” which I’ve seen elsewhere as a sort of “Host” site inn use by other newsletter websites such as our accustomed Jihad Watch.
So, try simply setting up a new account [“Registering”] by having an email sent to your customary email address with their chosen temporary password, then re-set a new more personal and easy to remember password yourself. Use your old user name and password if you like.
[…VERY OFF TOPIC ….note to our N.S.A. ….you’re welcome to read all of my emails any time, I don’t publish pics of my genitals on the internet….<;-D …]
That worked for me just now.
Charlie Griffith says
…a hasty typo correction:
Instead of “TypePress” incorrectly and confusingly used above, I meant to type, “TypePad”…which seems to’ve been the most visible change, to me at least.
Champ says
“Interesting that I can’t “reclaim my old account” because, it seems, after more than 7 years of regular check-ins and comments here…it doesn’t recognize my e-mail address!”
Hi George, I ran into the same problem, as well, but after a couple of tries I realized that I used to be registered with the TypePad Team (were you?), and this new format only allows you to register with WordPress. So now I’m newly registered with WordPress and I log-in that way, but I still can’t access my old account ..??

Iran’s Foreign Minister on nuke deal: White House downplays U.S. concessions, “we did not agree to dismantle anything”
………………………………..
No, I’m sure they didn’t—but right now there is a ban on new sanctions, an easing of the old, and their assets are being unfrozen, all with no guarantees that they won’t use the monies to use to fund Jihad terror against us.
More:
Is there anyone anywhere in the world who doesn’t know at this point that the Iranians played John Kerry for a fool?
………………………………..
Actually, this assumes that Kerry *wanted* to broker a good deal for the United States, but was merely too inept to do so.
Given both Kerry’s and Obama’s disturbing anti-Western histories, I’m not so sure that this is the case…
More:
Zarif told CNN Chief National Security Correspondent Jim Sciutto that terminology used by the White House to describe the agreement differed from the text agreed to by Iran and the other countries in the talks…

So—are Kerry and other US officials clueless? Embarrassed? Or intentionally out to mischaracterize their appeasement?
You know things are bad when you *hope* that your “leaders” are simply ignorant and incompetent—because the alternative is so much worse…

This bogus deal the Obama regime made with Iran basically guarantees Iran will get nuclear weapons. Any other gibberish coming from the Obama White House is just a bunch of noise.
