Welcome to the new and not quite improved Jihad Watch. It was supposed to look something like this, but better, with a featured post and other bells and whistles that have unaccountably disappeared, and I hope it will be fully operational soon.
It should be easier to comment now; please pardon the silly symbols; I will get rid of them as soon as possible.
In any case, thanks very much for your patience.

John Goodwin says
Oh dear, I’m not at all happy with this new look – it’s just a test right?
Pastor Jeff Earls says
TY I love this site – I do A LOT of video reports from the information you provide – and yes I give you koodos LOL
Robert Spencer says
It should look better when we are finished. The site is supposed to have a featured post; I don’t know why that dropped out. Once it does, it won’t look as scattered and cluttered all at once, as it does now.
Bettina says
Dear Staff: Thank you for your thoughtful notification on this page. I know you’re swamped with requests, but permit me to add one: Once we make it thru the login fields, it would be great not to have to face those every time we post a comment. Also, what happened to the possibility of addressing you directly, separately from the comments areas?
Thomas Pellow says
Pamela Geller, and Robert Spencer each revamp their websites.
British authorities are not impressed with this freedom of expression in new guise, and still ban the two American bloggers from entering the U.K, for fear of upsetting Muslims.
Robert Spencer says
I hate the little faces. I will have them removed as soon as possible. And yes, the Contact Us box will be restored.

Dear Robert:
This is an important site, so I will be commenting in any case.
So far, the biggest problem I have run across is that every time a new ad posts on the right-hand side, you are jerked back up to it. This is a real problem if trying to read a long article or post a longer comment, as the ads cycle *quite* frequently, and I have had to find my place again over a dozen times just for one posting.
Also—a minor point, I quite realize—would there be a way either to post one’s own avatar, or else just have some kind of generic outline? Randomly assigned goofy avatars are fine for a joke site—they rather lack gravitas for a serious site like Jihad Watch.
And a minor point, but it *is* nice to say goodbye to the “Submit” button—”Post Comment” is much less troubling given the subject matter.
And as always, I realize that security often trumps other niceties.
Other than that, Godspeed!
Champ says
Robert, thank you for letting us know about the changes that are underway. Take care!
JamesonRocks says
Robert, I’m thinking by the time you get this all done it will be fabulous! Thankfully, you did not hire the firm that did the primary work for the ObamaCare site.

I assure you that the goofy avatars will be gone as soon as I can figure out how to get rid of them.
Sam says
Robert,
you are working very hard fighting for our freedom. Thanks and take care of yourself as we need you in this loooooong fight against Islam.
Angemon says
Well, this is going to take a bit of getting used to…

They’re already gone! And I’m not having the more severe problem of the cursor jumping around every time a new ad posts, either.
Robert, kudos to you and your tech team!
SaleemSmith says
The Muslims and their useful idiot apologists and supporters hate Jihad Watch because it is critical of Islamic theology. The Muslims are deathly afraid to criticize Mohammed and/or Islamic theology. To criticize Mohammed and the many evils of Islamic theology is to become an apostate. The penalty for apostasy in Islam is death.
We ex-Muslims living with Islam’s formal and informal death penalty for apostasy know that Islam is a despicable fraud. Peace to Muslims, long live Jihad Watch, and death to the murderous cult of Mohammedanism!
Here is a recent statement from a group of Bangladeshi apostates living in the UK explaining the reasons why they have abandoned Islam:
“One who claims to be a messenger of God is expected to live a saintly life. He must not be given to lust, he must not be a sexual pervert, and he must not be a rapist, a highway robber, a war criminal, a mass murderer or an assassin. One who claims to be a messenger of God must have a superior character. He must stand above the vices of the people of his time. Yet Muhammad’s life is that of a gangster godfather. He raided merchant caravans, looted innocent people, massacred entire male populations and enslaved the women and children. He raped the women captured in war after killing their husbands and told his followers that it is okay to have sex with their captives (Qur’an 33:50). He assassinated those who criticized him and executed them when he came to power and became de facto despot of Arabia. Muhammad was bereft of human compassion. He was an obsessed man with his dreams of grandiosity and could not forgive those who stood in his way…
The statement continues,
Muhammad was a narcissist, like Hitler, Saddam or Stalin. He was astute and knew how to manipulate people, but his emotional intelligence was less evolved than that of a 6-year-old child. He simply could not feel the pain of others. He brutally massacred thousands of innocent people and pillaged their wealth. His ambitions were big and as a narcissist he honestly believed he is entitled to do as he pleased and commit all sorts of crimes and his evil deeds are justified. “
Foolster41 says
I’m glad the goofy avatars are gone.
One feature I miss is not having the number of comments on each post visible on the main page. Hopefully that will come back.
Bradamante says
Interesting to watch the new site coming into shape! It’s a little confusing, watching things jump around — right now there’s a thicket of keywords up top and you have to scroll down to find any posts — but I’m sure it’ll keep coming together.
RCCA says
The new site looks very nice! I like how you moved the left sidebar to a slim tool bar at the top of the page. BTW, your photo didn’t load on your bio page.
Wondering if there will be an edit function for comments? It is helpful when you have a couple of minutes to make corrections after posting comment.

Hello Mr. Spencer. I hope you’re doing well this evening. It’s a beautiful night in Houston at this moment, just beautiful.
I’ve used Typepad’s ‘butterfly’ for years here. When you changed the last time that name wasn’t available, so I used my WordPress ‘nocultsclub.’ It struck me that since I don’t have to login I can use any name I want. I could even claim to be someone else and post. That kind of bothers me. Is there something I’m missing with this process, this no-login-to-post process?
butterfly says
Allowing any link to be posted with one’s name seems especially risky too.
Maybe I’m just being paranoid, sorry.
Champ says
I like the new format …and you can go from one news page to the next much easier now.
Lookmann says
Little hard to digest changes. Now this almost looks like Pam’s site. (same web designer?) Anyway, I second Fiqh’s proposals, which will make JW on par with major news sites.
Romney says
Looking much better on my Android phone!
Champ ✞ says
Great, the silly faces are gone, but it would be nice to be able to download your own picture or avatar ..??
EYESOPEN says
This will take some getting used to. I notice that I cannot pull up the articles from the Jihad Watch entries to my e-mail. I get “Page Not Found” on all attempts. Well, this is the first time I’m seeing this so I will be patient. Thank you, Robert, for your continued efforts for freedom.
Brian says
The new layout is good, but the font size for the headings is unnecessarily large and the articles would read better if the line spacing in the body text was reduced (which would also allow more of the article to be seen). Otherwise, keep up the good work.
George Romero says
Thanks Robert.
Reading JW for 6 years and a new format is presented.
a bit sad to see old go , but will have to adapt and get used to the new ,
exciting , upwards & onwards!
RoofGardener says
Well, so far, I think it is looking GOOD. I really like the dual-column layout, and the truncated ‘sampler’/’Read more’ article paradigm. It makes it easier for me to catch up on posts, and reduces the amount of scrolling up and down.
I gather there are more changes to come, and features to be modified or added. All well and good, but from an ergonomic perspective, it is a huge improvement already. Well done to all concerned, warts and all.
John Goodwin says
I am missing the date bar that tells us when we have moved between days – a continuous list is difficult to digest. In fact I would like to see the site divided into Jihad and Dhimmi once again (although you probably stopped that for the extra work it caused)
also there is no “Home” link on the top black menu
Per says
Reading Jihadwatch has been a daily routine of mine for many years. As long as Robert keeps up the good work, I’m not too fussed about the layout.
What I’m really missing is a forum, where we can discuss freely, advice each other, build and share knowledge.
Has this ever been considered?
Stephen David says
I think this is a case of “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it!” Why mess with perfection? The old site was wonderful. I could quickly scroll down and read whatever I wanted. I don’t find the little blurbs under the photos on the current design to be very helpful. And it jerks the page around when all the ads get updated. The new design may look a bit “prettier” but is a step backwards as far as user friendliness and effectiveness at conveying information.
PS Why is the comment box set to “center” text? It looks like I am typing a poem.
Maccabeus says
Great job on the new layout, Robert. I like it.
Servant of ALLAH swt says
The new layout is almost as satanic as the content. At least it will deter infidels from reading more lies.
logdon says
I think its a great improvement. Just testing the comment process.
logdon says
And it works!
Bettina says
I agree that the new headings could be reduced by maybe 1 point as they dwarf the articles below. However, I think the line spacing is good as I find them easier to read than if the lines were more squished together.
Also, now that our replies are stacked right below the original comment, your login space is so large we immediately lose track of the text to which we’re replying. Can you tighten up this area?
Btw, I like the new look — thanks for your heroic efforts!
Jan says
Well, a few curmudgeonly moans ! First, (my fault, I know) I keep forgetting to fill in name and email, so have lost several posts, second, when replying to another person’s post, it’s not clear to *whom* one is replying, unless one writes ‘@ so and so’, and also one can’t insert a link without losing the post !

Account reclaim and login button on the right will make for a better commenting experience

Well, it *did* drive Muslim trolls like “Servant of ALLAH” away for an entire day, so it can’t be all bad.
Of course, I knew they’d be back…

“Servant of ψ SATAN” needs a mirror.

Danny Ray says
Love the new site, THANK YOU!!
marclouis says
thank you, that reminds me, a like comment button is needed
TMI says
The website is responsive, meaning it works great on mobile devices which is really important. One problem is that the pop-up window is not responsive meaning it doesn’t fit the window of a mobile device and you can’t get rid of it. So you’ll lose mobile readers if it isn’t fixed.
I also think the two-column design is not the preferred choice. But if the site runs on a blog it wouldn’t even take 5 mins to change that to another design. The font is great and easy to read and the site loads nice and is clean!
marclouis says
should no longer popup on a mobile, can you tell me what device you are using?
awake says
test.
