Exposing the role that Islamic jihad theology and ideology play in the modern global conflicts

Take me out to the jihad: All major league ballparks will require metal detector screening by 2015 season

Jan 22, 2014 11:13 am By Robert Spencer

baseballbrawl1

“We conducted testing of these measures at the All-Star game and at both World Series venues last year and were pleased that it was effective and received without issue from fans.” So America accepts with alacrity the security measures made necessary by the reality of Islamic jihad, even as government and media elites continue to deny that that jihad even has any significant presence in the U.S.

“All major league ballparks will require metal detector screening by the 2015 season,” by Drew Silva for NBC Sports, January 21 (thanks to Anne Crockett):

Ronald Blum of the Associated Press has the news:

NEW YORK (AP) — Entering a big league ballpark will be a bit like going through an airport by 2015.

Major League Baseball has told its 30 teams they must implement security screening for fans by then, either with hand-held metal detection or walk-through magnetometers.

“This procedure, which results from MLB’s continuing work with the Department of Homeland Security to standardize security practices across the game, will be in addition to bag checks that are now uniform throughout MLB,” baseball spokesman Michael Teevan told the Associated Press on Tuesday. “We conducted testing of these measures at the All-Star game and at both World Series venues last year and were pleased that it was effective and received without issue from fans.”

The Seattle Mariners are going to implement the new screening system this season at Safeco Field.

There haven’t been many instances of weapon violence at baseball stadiums and it’s a shame that such extensive security measures have been deemed necessary, but it’s also understandable that Major League Baseball wants to avoid potential catastrophes. MLB stadiums hold between 35,000 and 56,000 fans.

This is probably an inevitable fact of life at this point, but the least we could do is send the bill for ALL the security and economic costs of Islam to Saudi Arabia – I would suggest $14 trillion as a good figure to demand.

“pleased that it was effective and received without issue from fans”

As usual, we are sheep and go along with all these nearly useless security measures that only protect us against the last jihad attack, not the next. Which is more likely to happen? A jihadi blows himself up inside the stadium? Or a jihadi blows himself up in the densely packed queue waiting to go through the magnetometer? Stupid!

They are protection from the schools and theaters shooting so common in america lately from unstable people able to buy firearm legality without background check, all done by non-muslim.

    @Brian C. Hoff:
Ah yes, it’s because guns are legally available. So, if we outlaw guns then criminals can’t get guns, right? Because you know a murderer wouldn’t dream of breaking the law! Ha!

    “all done by non-muslim.”
Absolutely false. There has been a number of Muslim shooters, so to say that “all” are non-muslim is proven false by just one case.

The beltway sniper? The Maryland shooting of a Jew? There are many more

Even if it were true that most gun violence is by non-muslims (which may be true), that doesn’t suddenly make the problem of the calls for violence in the Quoran that motivates Muslims to kill non-Muslims. No other religion does this. You are either a muslim trying to fool people, or you are a leftist stooge.

    Go educate yourself!

Brian C Hoff appears to be either borderline illiterate or a muslim troll. First off, the number of “mass shootings” in the US has declined since at least the late 90’s. Moreover, they were never “so common” (by FBI crime stats, not even a blip on the radar), they simply dominate the headlines when they do occur. As far as “background checks” are concerned, the only firearms LEGALLY sold w/o checks are personal sales/gifts (and in most states, handguns cannot be transferred to anyone w/o a check), which account for less than 1% of all firearms sales. BTW, the guy who shot up the Naval facility in DC several months ago legally purchased the shotgun he used following a background check. A lot of good that did. Most criminals, however, simply acquire their weapons illegally, given they are…wait for it…CRIMINALS!

And as for terrorist attacks/planned terrorist attacks on US soil, terror attacks perpetrated in the name of islam DOMINATE all other motivations COMBINED!

    http://www.heritage.org/research/reports/2013/07/60-terrorist-plots-since-911-continued-lessons-in-domestic-counterterrorism

So sure, this type of security could be justified on the grounds of preventing a lunatic from shooting up a stadium (of course, said lunatic could simply shoot people in line, and given most of those people would be unarmed, just following the law, they would be defenseless in such a scenario). But, lunatics and guns have been around for a long time, and metal detectors have been in use since at least the 1970’s. No, the primary rationale behind employing these devices at stadiums and elsewhere remains the “religion of peace”.

    Brian C Hoff:
I would be happy to take my chances of getting shot by some rare lunatic if that were really who we have to worry about. But worrying about that is like worrying about dying in an airplane crash. It happens so rarely that it is highly newsworthy. On the other hand getting killed somewhere in the world by a muslim with a grievance happens so often that it isn’t always even covered by the complicit MSM in this country. We’ve always had to worry about the lunatics, but only in recent years have we had to be searched, patted down, x-rayed, bomb sniffed, and magnetometered. Now why do you think that is? Islamic terrorism.

The Major Leauge BaseBall owner are worry about the shooting across america not terrorist. One man was stop aqt than traffic light by police they fround books on bomb makeing and chemical to make explosive he was arrest. Than search of his liveing place turn automatic weapons and already make bombs. It wasnot report in the new since he was not muslim. These are what Baseball tearm onwer worry about.

  12. Foolster41 says

    Jan 23, 2014 at 12:00 am

Yeah, Brian C. Hoff is just going to babble nonsense about how the real threat are non-muslims instead of actually answering people’s posts and evidence to the contrary of what he’s saying. As if the metal detector check points are only because of fear of gun threats and as if Islamic terror isn’t happening at all. He’s a troll. It’s clear now he does knows better, but doesn’t want to acknowledge the truth.

The last terrorist attack in america was 9-11-2001. Some Islam hater wed site report all crime of muslim as terror act instead of simple criminal acts which are very common. Almost all law enforcenment think that site is inaccurate. You cannot use than very lose meaning of terrorist act you needed than very narrow mean of what than terrorist act. By the way the watch list in america are going away as federal judge are unhappy that too many inorent people are place on the list. The no fly list will be ended by federal court for the same reason as above, Senator Kenndy name was put on the list as some federal agent didnot like him.

“The last terrorist attack in america was 9-11-2001”
Hahahaha! You really expect us to believe that? Really? Either you really are ignorant and believe this, or you are a complete liar. So you’re saying fort Hood, Boston bombings, as well as over 2,994 other terrorist attacks didn’t happen?

“Almost all law enforcement think that site is inaccurate.”
Appeal to authority fallacy. That people think it’s not accurate doesn’t make it inaccurate. You’d have to actually show how the site is inaccurate (i.e. how the Quoran doesn’t call for violence agianst non-muslims, and how the people reported on this site aren’t atually invoking those verses, or not invoking those verses correctly). We’ve heard this accusation time and again, with no proof of how it is inaccurate when all Spencer does is repeat what the Quoran/Hadiths say, and what Muslims do. Again you seem to take us for morons.

“You cannot use than very lose meaning of terrorist act you needed than very narrow mean of what than terrorist act. ”
Oh I see. Defining “terrorist act” as murdering and injuring multiple people (as happened in Boston and Fort Hood) is far too loose! (after all, that is the type of “terrorist acts” that are reported here) So, you’re not a leftist useful idiot, you’re a green flag wearing Jihadist! After all, if some infidels get injured or killed, what’s it matter, their just infidels, right? We need to calm down about this, RIGHT?

How about you admit it: You’re a Muslim, and you are more concerned about Muslim sensibilities than the suffering of non-Muslims?

“By the way the watch list in america are going away as federal judge are unhappy that too many inorent people are place on the list. ”
You sound approving of this. After all, less security means jihad will be that much easier!

What crap. There was virtually *no* security at American ballparks prior to 9/11. It was with the resumption of the season in autumn of 2001 that ballparks began banning coolers and backpacks and searching people’s fan’s purses and totebags.

The San Francisco Giants already use a metal-detector wand on fans, and have talked about installing full gate-style metal detectors, even though this would slow entry into the stadium even more than now.

      More crap:

So—the Ft. Hood shootings and the attempted bombing of Times Square had nothing to do with Islam? *Right*.

      “DefenderofIslam”, is that you?

The misuse of the word “than” is a clear giveaway. I knew this illiterate Muslim “revert” would rear his ugly head again at some point, hand here he is…
