Here is yet more indication that the Muslim Brotherhood’s fall from power in Egypt doesn’t mean that the country is now dominated by Western-oriented secularists. Even some supporters of the regime are clearly Sharia supremacists. Shaheen’s recommendation here is straight from the Qur’an: “Indeed, the penalty for those who wage war against Allah and His Messenger and strive upon earth [to cause] corruption is none but that they be killed or crucified or that their hands and feet be cut off from opposite sides or that they be exiled from the land. That is for them a disgrace in this world; and for them in the Hereafter is a great punishment.” — Qur’an 5:33
“Pro-coup Sheikh calls for crucifying, cutting off hands of Muslim Brotherhood affiliates,” from the Middle East Monitor, February 22 (thanks to Halal Pork Shop):
The pro-coup Al-Azhar Sheikh Mazhar Shaheen demanded the application of Sharia against the Muslim Brotherhood by “cutting off their hands, crucifying them, and sending them to exile.”
In an interview with the military-controlled Tahrir channel, Shaheen called for including the punishments of “crucifying and cutting off hands and legs” among criminal punishments in the “Anti-terrorism law.”
Shaheen also called for banning students affiliated with the Muslim Brotherhood from continuing college, because of their role in instigating protests.

Lol. Mazhar Shaheen is Salah’s “love sheikh.”

So much for even the SMALLEST amount of free speech. Where there is Islam in any quantity, free speech is destroyed. The mullahs cannot stand being contradicted or discovered.
Islam is unable to tolerate probing questions because it uncovers the mass of lies and deceptions that support the Death Cult and keep the mullahs employed.

http://crossmuslims.blogspot.ca/2014/01/crucifying-muslim-brotherhood.html
Mazhar Shaheen is a Muslim imam, so when he advocates Sharia he’s simply doing his job. The most important thing to notice here, is that he’s advocating Sharia AGAINST the Muslim Brotherhood thugs. Another proof that, not only Christians, not only the average Muslim, but almost ALL Muslims, including imams, scholars and even al-Azhar are against these terrorist thugs. And *THAT* is good.
If we are unable to recognize and rejoice when a battle is won, how are we going to find the strengh, perseverence and patience to win a war?
RodSerling says
Salah,
I said it before, and will say it again: The fact that some Muslims oppose other Muslims does not mean they are good in any significant way for non-Muslims. (Most well-known example: opposition between Sunnis and Shias. That internal conflict, as far as non-Muslims are concerned, is only good when (a) they are attacking each other instead of us, and (b) non-Muslims are not victims caught in the middle of their conflict). His citation of one of the Qur’an’s most barbaric verses as if it is authoritative, good, and just indicates that he is clearly an enemy of non-Muslims. A Muslim who calls for that verse to be implemented at all is a Muslim who probably supports most if not all of the major harsh sharia punishments, and for that matter the dhimma conditions to be imposed upon non-Muslims. Probably only limits by the Egyptian military, which is concerned about the inflow of money (especially from the West) via transfers from other governments, income from the tourist industry and international trade, etc., are holding this Muslim cleric back from saying what he’d really like to do with non-Muslims guilty of “spreading mischief,” as mentioned in the Qur’anic passage he cites.
“Another proof that, not only Christians, not only the average Muslim, but almost ALL Muslims, including imams, scholars and even al-Azhar are against these terrorist thugs.”
Why then do Muslim Brotherhood organizations continue to be so popular among Muslims? Why do Muslim terrorist organizations such as Hamas, Hizballah, al-Qaeda, etc., continue to have the significant support that they do among Muslims?
And even if many of them are against these terrorist thugs, so what? The vast majority of Muslims in Egypt and elsewhere want a strict application of sharia in every Muslim country and want a Caliphate to be set up. They want adulterers and apostates to be put to death. They agree with the goals of the Brotherhood.
Salah says
“A Muslim who calls for that verse to be implemented at all is a Muslim who probably supports most if not all of the major harsh sharia punishments, and for that matter the dhimma conditions to be imposed upon non-Muslims.”
A is worth a thousand words…
Mazhar Shaheen supporting dhimma conditions!!!
RodSerling says
Salah,
Often a picture requires additional evidence to make sense of it’s meaning. That picture may indicate to you that what you believe about Shaheen is correct, but there is no evidence, and no reason to believe, that he actually opposes the dhimma conditions. Even if we suppose he truly thinks showing crosses is okay–and that’s not proven simply by the fact that he is standing there–that doesn’t mean he opposes the dhimma overall. You are positing that he accepts 5:33 but not 9:29 of the Qur’an? Why should we believe that? Did he say that?
One of the most basic and important conditions of the dhimma is that non-Muslims are not allowed to criticize Muhammad or Islam. Does Shaheen allow that? And if he does, for how long?
Salah says
“Why then do Muslim Brotherhood organizations continue to be so popular among Muslims? Why do Muslim terrorist organizations such as Hamas, Hizballah, al-Qaeda, etc., continue to have the significant support that they do among Muslims?”
I’m talking about Egypt only: The MB and ALL of its offshoots, including al Qaeda, have ZERO support among Egyptian Muslims. That’s why Egyptians are angry, they’re angry because Obama is the one who is supporting these thugs.
“The vast majority of Muslims in Egypt and elsewhere want a strict application of sharia..”
WRONG. I don’t care if a few politically motivated polls pretend that this is the case. With the MB in charge, Egyptians had a golden chance to apply Sharia like never before. THEY SAID: NO. And it was a very loud one!

Salah,
I wrote: “The vast majority of Muslims in Egypt and elsewhere want a strict application of sharia..”
“WRONG. I don’t care if a few politically motivated polls pretend that this is the case. With the MB in charge, Egyptians had a golden chance to apply Sharia like never before. THEY SAID: NO. And it was a very loud one!”
1. Actually, it’s not merely a few polls, and it doesn’t matter which major polling organization does the poll: They all show the majority of Muslim Egyptians want sharia. (And to dismiss Pew, for example, as somehow biased in a way that would inflate the percentage of Muslims who want sharia is absurd and unfounded). There have been numerous polls showing that the vast majority of Muslims in Egypt and elsewhere support sharia. If there is a poll showing that most Egyptians reject sharia, let’s see it. Every poll I’ve ever seen on this question shows that the majority of Muslims in Egypt want sharia.
2. Muslim Egyptians had some sharia before the MB government came in, and they still have it after they left. Example: It is not permissible to criticize Islam or Muhammad in Egypt. That’s a sharia or sharia-inspired law. Given that most (over 80% of) Egyptian Muslims want the death penalty for adultery and apostasy, probably most also want the death penalty, or other harsh penalties, for blasphemy against Islam.
3. You say “Egyptians” rejected the MB. No doubt, most Egyptian Christians rejected the MB. And as I pointed out, re Egyptian Muslims, rejection of the MB does not = rejection of sharia. All the popular political parties in Egypt are pro-Islam, pro-sharia. The military is pro-Islam and pro-sharia. There may be some disagreement among Muslims over how much they want, but most do not reject it.
RodSerling says
[correction]: “If there is a poll showing that most [Muslim] Egyptians reject sharia, let’s see it.”
RodSerling says
And Salah,
Have most Egyptian Muslim males stopped sexually assaulting women yet? Why, I’ll bet they cut all that evil stuff out, pronto, as soon as they saw how bungling and buffoonish the MB were when they were in power. After seeing the MB in power, Egyptian Muslims suddenly realized the evil of their ways, openly renounced sharia and jihad, and demanded that the military overthrow the MB in order to usher in a new age of Islam-free, sharia-free life, where non-Muslims and Muslims are equal, women and men are equal, FGM is stopped, Israel and Jews are loved, apostates are given a pat on the back, Islam critics are promoted in the media, and so on.
Dream on.

Salah,
“I’m talking about Egypt only: The MB and ALL of its offshoots, including al Qaeda, have ZERO support among Egyptian Muslims. That’s why Egyptians are angry, they’re angry because Obama is the one who is supporting these thugs.”
Zero? Maybe zero among Egyptian Christians, who are angry at Obama for supporting the MB.
Do we have any reason to believe the following percentages have changed significantly since 2011, for Egyptian Muslims?
80% of Muslim Egyptians believe that Palestinians rights cannot be taken care of if Israel continues to exist.
21% of Muslim Egyptians admit to having a favorable view of al-Qaeda.
28% (12 + 16) of Egyptian Muslims say that suicide attacks and other violence against civilians is justified (often or sometimes) in defense of Islam, and 34% allow that such attacks are acceptable “rarely”.

Don’t misunderstand my satements. I’m realistic, the war is far from over. Nonetheless, what happened in Egypt is good, a battle has been won: the MB is out of power, the Salafist won’t dare participate in the next presidential elections, a coptic female is now at the head of a very influencial liberal political party (al Doustour), copts have won the right to build and repair their churches, jihadists in Sinai are on the run, Hamas is trying to avoid a confrontation with the Egyptian army, and more.
Yes, you’re right, it’s still a Muslim country. Unfortunately, this won’t change overnight.
RodSerling says
Salah,
Okay, I think we agree at least on this much re Egypt: (1) There has been some progress since the ousting of the MB, and (2) that major changes (against sharia and for non-Muslims) are not going to happen soon. I think we disagree on the amount of (1) and on the degree of inertia in (2).
Saleem Smith says
Do Egyptian Muslims owe their allegiance to the fictitious Islamic god Allah or to their country?
Wakey wakey, all Muslim and non-Muslims Egyptians.
There is still a huge percentage of the obedient Muslim faithful in Egypt that continue to want to follow the dictates of the Qur’an and Muhammad’s Sunnah.
Therefore be prepared for all of the accompanying misery and blood and efforts to impose Sharia that are sure to follow if an Islamic Egypt is to continue to be desired and pursued by the Muslims.
We ex-Muslims know that Egyptians must somehow abandoned Islam or the country is sure to suffer a painful and prolonged death as it spirals into the Islamic abyss.

Perhaps in context he means that if the genocidal Muslim Brohood are so pro-Sharia, then it should be applied to them. With that I’d have no argument.

Egypt Sheikh calls for Sharia against Muslim Brotherhood: “cutting off their hands, crucifying them”
…………………………………….
What could be more Islamic than a Muslim calling for the torture and mutilation of his enemies?
That this is aimed at the “Islamist” Muslim Brotherhood does not, as noted, somehow make this Sheikh a Jeffersonian democrat.
Some have also claimed that Al-Azhar itself has now disavowed Shari’ah—but this pronouncement from this Al-Azhar Sheikh gives the lie to that idea.
