Exposing the role that Islamic jihad theology and ideology play in the modern global conflicts

“Iran is prepared for the decisive war against the U.S. and the Zionist regime”

Feb 27, 2014 9:04 pm By Robert Spencer

ISLAMIC-REVOLUTION-ANNIVERSARY-890x395“The Americans will know [Iran’s true power] when their warships, with over 5,000 aboard, sink during a confrontation with Iran, and when they have to search the depths of the sea for their bodies.” Yes, this nuclear agreement with Iran certainly looks like Peace In Our Time has been secured. Can Obama be given another Nobel Peace Prize? He certainly deserves it as much as he did the first!

“On Iranian Revolution Day 2014, Commander of IRGC Navy Says: The Americans Will Understand When Their Warships With Over 5,000 Crew Aboard Sink To The Depths Of The Sea And They Have To Search For Their Bodies,” from MEMRI, February 27 (thanks to Pamela Geller):

On February 11, 2014, Iran celebrated Revolution Day, the 35th anniversary of the regime of the Islamic Revolution, against the backdrop of the start of permanent agreement nuclear talks between Iran and the superpowers, and of the ongoing struggle within Iran between the ideological stream led by Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, and the pragmatic stream led by Hashemi Rafsanjani, on the issue of how Iran should deal with the U.S. Revolution Day 2014 was marked by regime officials’ harsh anti-U.S. statements and by calls for maintaining Iranian hostility towards the U.S.

In two separate speeches, Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei stressed that the main enemy of the revolution was the U.S. and extolled fighting it as the revolution’s central value. He added that the 1979 takeover of the U.S. Embassy in Tehran was “an even greater revolution than the first one,” that is, greater than the removal of the Shah and the seizure of power by Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini. Khamenei also called on Iranians not to be taken in by the U.S.’s overtures, and not to trust it, because its aim – that is, to topple the revolutionary regime – remains unchanged.

As part of the Iranian regime’s dismissal of the U.S. military threat, many of this year’s Revolution Day marches and demonstrations featured signs bearing the slogan in English, “We Are Eager For The Options On The Table,” – a slogan praised by both Khamenei’s and Rafsanjani’s circles. Moreover, Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) naval commander Ali Fadavi stated that the U.S. would understand Iran’s might when Iran began to sink U.S. warships, with their crews of over 5,000. At the same time, Iranian Navy Adm. Rezai Haddad announced that an Iranian flotilla was en route to the Atlantic for “a first approach of U.S. maritime borders”[1] and that this was meant to be a “message” for the U.S [2]

In his Revolution Day message, both Iranian Defense Minister Hossein Dehghan and Iranian Army chief of staff Hassan Firouzabadi stressed that Iran longs for the decisive battle with the U.S., in light of the latter’s threat to use the military option if the nuclear talks fail. In other speeches, government officials stressed that hostility towards the U.S. – “the Great Satan” – would continue even if the nuclear issue were resolved, and that Iran’s smiles at the negotiating table were merely a tactical move aimed at obtaining Iran’s nuclear rights.

Following are excerpts from Iranian government officials’ statements for Revolution Day 2014. (For photos from the demonstrations and marches, see Appendix.)

Iranian Military Officials: “The Americans Will Know [Iran’s True Power] When Their Warships, With Over 5,000 Aboard, Sink During A Confrontation With Iran”; We Are Prepared With Ballistic Missiles, Swift Boats, And Mines; “The Iranian Nation Will Hand Them [The Americans] A Crushing Defeat”

In a February 11, 2014 interview with the Fars news agency, Defense Minister Hossein Dehghan said: “The Defense Ministry is working to ensure that the Iranian people are armed and ready to confront any enemy threat. Yesterday’s successful test of Iranian-made ballistic missiles was also a crushing response to the nonsense of the American officials who frequently threaten Iran. It is a clear answer to their military option. The Defense Ministry and the Iranian nation are always ready [for battle], and Iran will welcome it if the Americans again put themselves to the test and face the consequences. The Americans will again be defeated, just as they were in the [1980-1988] Iran-Iraq war. If they implement their nonsense [i.e. their threats], the Iranian nation will hand them a crushing defeat.”[3]

The next day, February 12, Iranian Chief of Staff Hassan Firouzabadi told Fars: “Iran is prepared for the decisive war against the U.S. and the Zionist regime.” He added, “Iran has been making plans, conducting maneuvers, and preparing its forces for this battle for years now.”[4]

Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) naval commander Ali Fadavi threatened that in battles at sea, his forces would sink American warships: “The Americans can spot swift boats, sea mines, and anti-ship missiles but they cannot grasp axioms such as… ‘God, the Islamic Revolution, and the Supreme Leader [Khamenei].’ On the chest of the IRGC is the [Koran] verse that clearly says that the use of measures against the infidels and the enemies must be promoted. The Americans notice only some of our capabilities; only on the battlefield will they fully internalize the bulk of our capabilities. The Americans will know [Iran’s true power] when their warships, with over 5,000 aboard, sink during a confrontation with Iran, and when they have to search the depths of the sea for their bodies.”[5]…

Agreed. Peace at any price is no peace at all. While guaranteed peace by the deterrent of superior firepower, is priceless.

Sadly for the USA and the rest of the free world. The US is falling behind in grass roots scientific education. The F22 is the fruit of a previous generations technical achievements. Something that may not be possible in the near future.

More huffing and puffing from that Pufferfish of nations, Iran. Their capabilities aren’t nearly as impressive as their bluster implies.

“Iran’s smiles at the negotiating table were merely a tactical move aimed at obtaining Iran’s nuclear rights.”

Does a strong man need to smile at a negotiating table in order to obtain his rights?

    @Shrugger: I love Bill Whittle.

@Salah: So you believe Iran is strong that they don’t have to smile? If so, in what way?
I realize the quote uses the word “rights” but I’m curious in the context of what you wrote, do you believe that Iran has a right to nuclear arms? If so, why?

Salah means that iran is weak. a strong man for instance, doesnt have to smile when negotiating.. he’s implying that therefore, iran is weak (and liars and deceitful etc)

” ‘God, the Islamic Revolution, and the Supreme Leader [Khamenei].’ On the chest of the IRGC is the [Koran] verse that clearly says that the use of measures against the infidels and the enemies must be promoted”

why would any god just miraculously start to intervene on behalf of the persians? he hasnt yet and never will.

the persians have never been a seafaring race. and to think that any sort of technology they have could even cast a shadow on the U S’s military might is pathetic, humorous and sad on the one hand, and dangerously deluded on the other..

and remember the new advanced jet fighter hoax? last year they tried to pass off some badly detailed aircraft as ‘death from above’. it couldnt even fly, it had fake instruments and no room for a pilot…

iran has something like 25 submarines. they are iranian built and 21 of them are classed as mini subs, only good in shallow water on short missions. they have about 10 frigates and they are aged mostly and poorly armed. almost all of the craft are iranian built, and others nth korean built. none are nuclear powered. an important factor is that they have no carriers (aircraft carriers) and if they did build one, it would be a diesel engined sitting duck. as such they have no air strike power through their navy.

the U S in comparison.. the number of vessels is too big to discuss here. but as an example, they have 10 Carriers, 62 Destroyers and over 50 attack subs.
if anything actually happens, if they attack a U S craft, the US retaliation could almost be completed with one carrier, a few subs and a couple of support craft.

      short answer; pathetic persian posturing.

In the article from 2002 to which I link, Lee Harris was specifically addressing al-Qaeda and 9/11and our reaction to them, but his point extends to Islam as a whole and is very pertinent to the constant bragging from the Iranians that they will take on and militarily defeat the USA and the West.

    http://www.hoover.org/publications/policy-review/article/6232

Islam isn’t a religion or even a political ideology, it’s a contagious psychosis completely at odds with the reality of the world and the rest of humanity and the theocrats of Iran are amongst the most psychotic.

    • Ron Gilbert says

      Feb 28, 2014 at 8:59 am

The view that Islam a simply ” a contagious psychosis” is psychobabble.
Psychosis can cover the whole spectrum from normal to aberrant: psychology as a “science” has almost nothing substantive to help us in warfare.

  7. Jewel says

    Feb 28, 2014 at 4:37 am

I like the comment “contagious psychosis” The way I see it is they are possessed. This is Satan’s favorite MO. Islam is just repackaged Baal worship. Satan is a one trick pony. This war that is coming will be a holy war between God and Satan, Jews and Christians against Islam. It will destroy the whole world. Meanwhile, Satan is stirring up the Kings of the East, China and N Korea.

While I enjoy watching prophecy play out, I really wish Americans would wake up. It is very frustrating to try and talk to my friends about it because they don’t believe me. They think I’m just crazy and obsessing on a fairy tale.

Didn’t we hear similar words from Saddam? These guys are really a joke if they think their puny navy could sink anything besides a dingy.
Oh, I forgot, the new president, Rouhani, is a moderate and would not support this inflammatory rhetoric. Yeah!
On the other hand the US is morally weak and will ignore this and continue to allow Iran to become a nuclear power.
When is this absurd nonsense going to stop?

‘I will huff and puff and blow your house down’…’The mother of all battles’ didn’t work well for Iraq and it won’t work well for Iran. Certainly these people are dangerous, but I doubt they are dangerous enough to win any battles. However they don’t really need to win any battles because Rasool Obama is perfectly capable of preempting a war by surrender.

  12. Jan Sobieski says

    Feb 28, 2014 at 9:56 am

Anyone really believe that if Iran sank a US warship or bombed Tel Aviv, that the US military under its current commander-in-chief, khalifa Barak Hussein, would retaliate? He would blame the US (“W” and the Tea Party, too) and offer to repay Iran for the cost of the weapons used, maybe throw in a few small nukes to ease their anger and pain. At best, he might send US troops to secure the Golan Hts. for the moslems. Our dictator has made abundantly clear his pro-islam and anti-US and anti-Israel positions — the few times he was NOT LYING!

FDR made the world safe for communism.

Khalifa Barak is making the world safe for islam.

And the congress cheers him on!

  13. Angemon says

I’m sure iranians would like Khamenei to explain why Iran needs to smile at the negotiation table if they have such a military advantage over the US. Why are they trying to fool the kuffar with pointless negotiations when they can just overpower them?

  14. Walter Sieruk says

About the Islamic regime which goes by the title of the “Islamic Republic of Iran.” two thngs need to be posted First ,this “republic” of Iran is not real republic bur a ruthless dictatorship thus it’s false even in its name. For a true republic means -res publica “the property of the people.” This is one thing that the heinous and bloodthristy Islamic regime is not. For the ruling Islamic clerics have all the power and oppress the Iranian people. Second, it should be restated that the director of the Middle East Research Project ,Ayelet Savyon, put in a clear way, when he said “Just because Iran has a new president that hasn’t changed their goals…Their agenda hasn’t changed, the only thing that has changed is the image that they are trying to present to the world.”
Nevertheless in spite of their effort to put on a good image they still let the truth slip out that show their true wicked intentions as the above article exposes.

Ha! No nukes for Iran means exactly that. America will strike them hard if Iran insists on Nukes in their arsenal. Iran is full of foolish bluster because their religion has addled their brains. Go ahead Iran….make my day…says America.

I lived in Iran during the rule of Shah Pahlavi who considered the US his best friend. We allowed him to be overthrown and replaced by the current government. These people tend scream a lot, and exaggerate . However if they do attack a US vessel, it might be what is needed to wake up America from its lethargy.

“Iran is prepared for the decisive war against the U.S. and the Zionist regime”
    ………………………………………………

Ain’t the fruits of appeasement grand? Actually, not so much…

Of course this is all ridiculous blustery “Mother of All Battles” rhetoric from the Mullahs, but this doesn’t mean that they haven’t been greatly emboldened by the absurd attempts at rapprochement from the “Great Satan”.
