St. Peter’s Church, “the Jazz Church,” regularly holds Jazz Vespers, and was even the site of the funeral of the towering jazz saxophonist John Coltrane (at the funeral other jazz giants, Albert Ayler and Ornette Coleman, performed). In stark contradiction (although they wouldn’t think so) to its celebration of America’s greatest indigenous art form, it is also, unfortunately, an epicenter of Leftist agitprop: this event for Lynne Stewart is being announced at the hard-Left Popular Resistance site. These America-hating Leftists are excited to honor Lynne Stewart, who was recently freed from prison early after serving part of a ten-year sentence for passing messages to and from the supporters of her client, the Blind Sheikh, Omar Abdel Rahman.
Sheikh Omar, aka The Blind Sheikh, is currently serving a life sentence in prison in North Carolina for his role in plotting the 1993 World Trade Center bombing, as well as for planning to bomb other New York City landmarks, including the Lincoln and Holland Tunnels. He had piously hoped to murder 100,000 people in the Tunnel bombings and 250,000 in the World Trade Center attack. Earlier, in Egypt, he had been charged, although not convicted, of issuing a fatwa calling for the murder of Anwar Sadat for making peace with Israel.
Apparently all that is just fine with the good people (who are convinced of their moral superiority) at Popular Resistance and the Jazz Church. Apparently Jazz Church officials don’t think they would have been among those the Blind Sheikh would have murdered had his plots been successful.
If Lynne Stewart had been in prison for passing notes to and from the maker of the Muhammad video that Obama Administration officials falsely blamed for the Benghazi jihad attacks, do you think the Jazz Church would be feting her? I don’t either.

Come to an evening of music, song and sharing love for recently released People’s Lawyer Lynne Stewart. Because of a determined people’s movement, Lynne is finally home with her family. But she has urgent medical needs and costs. Lynne’s Stage 4 breast cancer spread a year ago to both lungs, back, bones, and lymph nodes. Now 74, she has lost weight and has trouble breathing; doctors estimate her lifespan at 12 months. Lynne will soon begin treatment requiring her to pay deductibles and co-payments. To boost the odds, she’ll use a special diet, vitamins, and other healing methods – some costly and none covered by insurance.

Lynne’s spirit is indomitable – help her fight to survive!
“I fought lions, I fought tigers, and I’m not going to let cancer get me,” Stewart said.
Lynne has always come to the aid of those who needed her. Now it’s our turn to stand by Lynne.
