Exposing the role that Islamic jihad theology and ideology play in the modern global conflicts

Nigerian students trying to escape college attack were “slaughtered like sheep” by Islamic jihadists who slit their throats

Feb 25, 2014 4:41 pm By Robert Spencer

NIGERIA-UNREST-FILESRemember: when you hear Leftists and Islamic supremacists going on about “Islamophobia,” demonizing those who call attention to atrocities like this, this is what they are enabling: students burned alive, and having their throats slit when they tried to escape. This is, apparently, what the “Islamophobia” industry — the real one that pushes the concept, not the counter-jihad one that Hamas-linked CAIR imagines to exist — wants to see: heaps of dead Infidel bodies. An update on this story. “Nigerian students trying to escape college attack were ‘slaughtered like sheep by the terrorists who slit their throats,’” by Adamu Adamu for the Associated Press, February 25:

DAMATURU, Nigeria — Suspected Islamic militants killed dozens of students in a pre-dawn attack Tuesday on a northeast Nigerian college, survivors said, setting ablaze a locked hostel and shooting and slitting the throats of those who escaped through windows. Some were burned alive.

Adamu Garba said he and other teachers who ran away through the bush estimate 40 students died in the assault that began around 2 a.m. Tuesday at the Federal Government College at Buni Yadi. It is a co-ed school about 70 kilometres south of Damaturu, the capital of Yobe state, and difficult to communicate with because extremists last year destroyed the cellphone tower there.

Soldiers still are gathering corpses so he could not give an exact number of dead, said military spokesman Capt. Eli Lazarus.

Garba, who teaches at a secondary school attached to the college, said the attackers first set ablaze the college administrative block, then moved to the hostels, where they locked students in and started firebombing the buildings.

At one hostel, he said, “students were trying to climb out of the windows and they were slaughtered like sheep by the terrorists who slit their throats. Others who ran were gunned down.” He said students who could not escape were burned alive.

He spoke to The Associated Press in Damaturu, where he and several other teachers had made their way.

Tuesday’s attack brings the toll from attacks blamed on Boko Haram to more than 300 civilians killed this month alone.

It is the first reported in Yobe state and the first school attack reported this year by suspected fighters of the terrorist network of Boko Haram — the nickname that means Western education is forbidden.

President Goodluck Jonathan told a news conference Monday night that the Boko Haram attacks were “quite worrisome” but that he was sure “We will get over it.”

Thousands of Nigerians have lost family members, houses, businesses, their belongings and livelihoods in the 4-year-old rebellion.

And it likely will anger regional officials who charge the military is losing its war to halt the Islamic uprising in the northeast of Africa’s biggest oil producer. The military has said recent attacks are being perpetrated by militants who have escaped a sustained aerial bombardment and ground assaults on forest hideouts along the border with Cameroon.

U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry on Monday condemned the “unspeakable violence and acts of terror” and said the United States is helping Nigerian authorities to develop a comprehensive approach “to combat the threat posed by Boko Haram while protecting civilians and ensuring respect for human rights.”

But survivors and local officials charge they get no protection. And refugees who have fled to neighbouring states have said that they are fleeing the extremists as much as the fallout from a military campaign in which soldiers are accused of gross human rights abuses including executions of people suspected of helping Boko Haram.

“Everybody is living in fear,” local government chairman Maina Ularamu told the AP after Izghe village was attacked twice in a week this month — with militants first killing 106 and burning hundreds of thatched huts, then returning to kill another three people and setting ablaze what little remained of the settlement in neighbouring Adamawa state.

“There is no protection. We cannot predict where and when they are going to attack. People can’t sleep with their eyes closed,” Ularamu said.

” … the military is losing its war to halt the Islamic uprising in the northeast of Africa’s biggest oil producer. …”

under the colonialist system of the Brits, Muslim and Christian assets were combined to form military and police units … it was a system designed on paper to work well if all were nationalists. When folks were paid, sometimes work was accomplished.

… seems the system might have a Spaniard in the works, though … intertribal hostilities remain/Nigeria was unified only on paper … sometimes folks can’t even get along, especially down at the mosque because of traditional preferences and persuasions.

mingling assets as per religious persuasion may not be a good idea as far as bettering this nation – any nation – is concerned.

wonder if our US military is looking at this?

Running from tired memory here, but…

I seem to recall this was tried in the 1960’s with the attempted creation of Biafra wasn’t it? IIRC this attempt to have a Christian South was shut down by the UN and the term “Biafran” became synonymous with “famine victim”.

What a wonderful idea. But I’m sorry to say the Islamic militants (jihadists) want all kafirs (none-Muslims) gone from the face of the earth. So backing up isn’t going to work this time.

But if a Muslim was slaughtered like the Christians are by the hands of Muslims, the riot from that would be world wide, and unending.

Every day, every damn day, you cover atrocities which originate from the rotten heart of Islam, and every day these pseudo-liberal cowards avert their gaze. This one is heartbreaking, I remember when they did similar last year to a bunch of students at an agricultural college. RIP to all the victims, and I just hope that one day the world wakes up to the real source of the horror. I mean, it isn’t rocket science to understand, I don’t know why it is so hard for otherwise intelligent people to grasp…

Everyone is terrified of being called an islamophobe or “intolerant” or “crusader”, so they avoid like the plague talking about the obvious common denominator in these attacks.

Newscasters call it “sectarian violence”, “civil strife”, or “warring factions”, and the Twitterverse just changes the channel.

But it’s not just cowardice. It’s also ignorance. Ask the average Westerner under 25 if there is any violence or intolerance inherent to Islam, and odds are he or she will say, “What? Of course not. It’s all about land or oil or something! What are you, a racist?”

“But it’s not just cowardice. It’s also ignorance.”

It’s much more than just cowardice and ignorance, it’s complicity.
When our PC leaders refuse to act against this evil ideology – Islam – , they become accomplices.
When we refuse to act against those PC leaders, we become accomplices.

Your argument is, basically, that muslimes aren’t the problem it’s islam. Gee, everyone agreed that nazism was a problem in WW2, but it was impossible to defeat nazism w/o defeating the nazis who acted on the its ideology. Your naive theory is one reason why islam is spreading across the world like a cancer.

Unyielding Entropy of truth despite MSM

The liberal PC vultures’ worn-out routine is getting a bit stale.
Even though they arrogantly insist on looting the truth as they gaze down from their precariously high PC perches they are tethered by a dhimmi leash around each their necks.
Be ready to watch their pathetic spectacle when they are forced to flail about blinded by the glare of the reality clinging to a perch planted in nothing but shifting sand of Islam.
They will frantically attempt to recite one Quran lie in a futile appeasement attempt to cover up yet another but the truth is closing in on Islam and all their lackeys.

I hope you’re being sarcastic, because your assertion is just so much PC-MC BS.
After all, which islam0nazi state is practicing “liberal Islam” in the 21st century? Which islam0nazi state isn’t persecuting people of other faiths and enforcing some aspect of totalitarian sharia law?

        • Jay Boo says

          Feb 25, 2014 at 11:41 pm

Liberal westerners should be against (conservative) fundamentalist Islam but many have coopted the truth for an opportunity to bask in the self-satisfaction of approval from the nearest Muslim in order to impress their neighbors with their MC enlightenment.
Some of them are beginning to wake up as the horrors and stench of Islam has a way of permeating despite the best efforts of its enablers.
Appeasing Islam has a way of becoming less fashionable when its taint begins to cling and linger thereby threatening to tarnish carefully crafted images of pseudo multi-cultural tolerance.

Oh and the absolute 100% proof of the religious motivation for this atrocity:

They spared the women, but told them to forget about getting an education and instead go find a man to marry. That is the classic attitude of hardcore Islam (see: Taliban blowing up girls’ schools, shooting Malala etc)

    Little known details about Nigeria

This past may Presedent of Nigeria Goodluck Jonathan offered Boko Haram Amnesty for laying down their weapons. That’s it.

Human Right Group blamed Boko Haram violence in part on Nigerian police extra judicial killings of captured militants.

CNN has not bothered to report on this latest Islamic mass killngs, but has ran a story on Nigeria ignoring mass killings
    http://www.cnn.com/2013/12/12/world/africa/nigeria-rights-report/

I think it’s going to be hard to stop Boko Haram with the response so far

      Islam is not 100% evil.
However, the politically correct news media like NPR & BBC needs to focus more
on what is at the evil core of Islam than on its window dressing.

        2) What does this non-evil percentage consist of?

This time being kind, and appeasing wont be effective in our struggles. This time name calling wont be effective. This time it’s for real. The jihadists know exactly what their final goal is. They’ve even tried to alert the world. But nobody including the press seems to give a rip.

These Islamist are simply evil. Not only have they slaughtered innocent children, but they have taken the young girls, probably, to rape them over and over.

Nigerian forces need to hunt these Islamist terrorist down, and slaughter them.
These Islamist have been given the freedom to preserve their violence, while we are not allowed to speak out against them, or we will become racist and haters, and possibly jailed. We should stand and fight them. There needs to be regression in the progress of these Islamist.
