Editor: So, are you still a journalist or a novelist?
Tom Friend: Same thing out here….
Editor: Make something out of it. And if you can’t do that, sir, then make it up! — From the cinematic classic Masked and Anonymous
This is how most of the items on those lists of great Muslim inventions are compiled. But in an age when wishful thinking and fantasy guide so much of public policy, this passes for sober scientific analysis: “Iranian cleric: Albert Einstein was Shiite Muslim,” from Haaretz, March 8 (thanks to The Religion of Peace):
An Iranian cleric claims that the Albert Einstein, the great 20th century scientist who developed the Theory of Relativity, was a Shiitie [sic] Muslim, Israel Radio reported on Saturday.
The report cites a video by Ayatolla Mahadavi Kani, described as the head of the Assembly of Experts in the Islamic Republic of Iran, who says that there are documents proving the Jewish scientist embraced Shiite Islam and was an avid follower of Ja’far Al-Sadiq, an eighth-century Shi’i imam.
In the video, Kani quotes Einstein as saying that when he heard about the ascension of the prophet Mohammed, “a process which was faster than the speed of light,” he realized “this is the very same relativity movement that Einstein had understood.”
The ayatollah adds: “Einstein said, ‘when I heard about the narratives of the prophet Mohamad and that of the Ahle-Beit [prophet’s household] I realized they had understood these things way before us.'”
Reports of Einstein’s affinity to Islam circulated in 2012 as well, when the grandson of the late Ayatollah Hossein Borujerdi claimed the scientist was “corresponding with the cleric and had admitted Shia Islam was the most scientific and just religion in the world.”
According to those reports, Einstein’s correspondence with Ayatollah Borujerdi is kept in a London safe box. Luckily, the readers were provided with the code to open it: B-۱۲-D.E/۱۷-V.A.E.

Islam loses all credibility when high ranking clerics like this open their mouths.
If Ayatollah Kani is wrong about something so easy to verify, what OTHER MISTAKES does he make? Is anything he says accurate?
Though nonobservant, Einstein’s Jewishness was never in dispute. In 1955, Einstein worked with some of the brainiest Jewish scientists in the world. He remarked: “For me the most beautiful thing is to be in contact with a few fine Jews—a few millennia of a civilized past do mean something after all.” He also wrote: “In my whole life I have never felt so Jewish as now.”
Kani reveals the manner in which the hadiths were written. The earliest Muslims invented stories about Mohammed.

Typical idiocy. Desperate for attention and justification, it will now taint Einstein’s memory in such a shallow and paper thin manner. These clerics need re-educating.

Einstein was an ethnic and cultural Jew who apparently was an agnostic leaning towards atheism, from what I understand. He didn’t believe in the savage stories of the Pentateuch, but maintained the best of Jewish and German philosophy and work ethic.

He was quite a solid theist. He did not believe in a personal God, but he clearly denied being atheist, or pantheist.
marclouis says
🙂 An like many Jews Einstein’s relationship (or lack of) with God was not static, ironic when it comes to him, to say “he was” that makes no sense to me, as it’s relative to time. and I don’t think observance and belief are relative either.

Islam is like a stray wild dog that attempts to lay claim everywhere it pisses.
I would not be the least surprised if they start saying that the ‘prophet’ Muhammad
ASCENDED TO HEAVEN from a place in Jerusalem claiming it as a holy place of Islam even though Muhammad turned his back to Jerusalem to pray toward Mecca after he slaughtered all the male Jews of Medina and committed sinful adultery with their wives.
ASCENDED TO HEAVEN ( ok maybe that was a bit too much)
Surely no Muslim would be so foolish as to actually try to make that claim.
Jay Boo says
PS
When Muhammad turned his back to Jerusalem after his dirty deeds in Medina at least it showed he had some guilt of association to his shameful deeds which might explain his habit of hiding away in a cave with bouts of depression when he pondered the empty meaninglessness of his worthless existence

Where the heck does this come from, eib? Callously shooting dogs to death is something pious Muslims and other sociopaths do.
I’m typing this with one of my cats curled up on my lap. She and my other pets were part of a feral cat rescue I did a few years ago.
After a lot of patient work, these guys are all loving pets—exactly the same kind of stray animals whose killing you would gloat over.
The “Prophet” Muhammed ordered “unclean” dogs killed, and his barbaric followers mistreat and slaughter dogs to this day on his example:

Here is an old equation that Mo figured way ahead of Einstein and it is clear to everyone that Einstein manupulated the maths and made it look fancier:
Original Mo’s equation of the relationship between mass and energy:
E – M*C**2 = 0
In the original equation, everyone can see that zero was invented by the Muslims and Energy was ‘created’ by Mullahs, because ‘M’ was the symbol for a Mullah.
Edward Cline says
“In the video, Kani quotes Einstein as saying that when he heard about the ascension of the prophet Mohammed, ‘a process which was faster than the speed of light,’ he realized “this is the very same relativity movement that Einstein had understood.” Methinks Islam stole, among other things, from all those creeds at large in Mohammed’s time, the legend of Pegasus. Mohammed’s steed likely came with a saddle belt, back-up mirrors, and no-skid golden horseshoes, too. One damned fast horse. Ought to have been entered in the Kentucky Derby. Kani? Must have been on drugs when he dreamed this one up.
Defcon 4 says
I’ve read, right here on JW from one of the comment contributors, that the Buraq wasn’t a flying horse, but a flying donkey. Whether or not this is an improvement on Pegasus myth I won’t speculate. I just hope the flying donkey wasn’t incontinent.
Edward Cline says
Mach and Warp speeds were also likely invented by Muslim scientists. Also, they pioneered space travel in an attempt to get nearer to Allah. Unfortunately, centuries ago they tried to colonize Mars, and made such a mess of it that they left the planet barren and lifeless, just as they’re trying to do today to Earth. Then they tried Venus, and you know what a hell-hole that planet is. But you must admit, they were true to their word and brought “peace” to Mars and Venus.

We need to wait a few minutes when the Arabs claim Einstein was a Sunni Muslim and give an equally ‘convincing’ account for their discovery. Love to see them killing each other over Einstein.
What shocks me most is the Muslims are incapable of figuring the facts from the fiction themselves.
CornHolio says
Priceless. Only a Muslim “scientist” could make that connection between the Night Journey and Relativity.
Muhammad ascended to Heaven “faster than light”.
[17.1] “Glory be to Him Who made His servant to go on a night from the Sacred Mosque to the remote mosque ( Yes, I’m calling it Jerusalem, all right? ) at a velocity significantly in excess of light speed. Verily about 1.8C, at the very least. What? Surely you don’t think Allah bullshits about the speed, do you? If you do, verily you will be among the losers… loser ; surely He is the Hearing, the Seeing, the Eavesdropping, the Man.”
This “researcher” seems to be unaware that Einstein’s Relativity theory predicts that NOTHING can go faster than light. So he’s disproving Muhammad’s Night Journey?
Only a Muslim “scientist” could write ONE line about Relativity, and get its most basic precept completely wrong.
Defcon 4 says
I didn’t even notice that. Of course, allah can do all things, so it doesn’t really matter anyway now does it?
CornHolio says
Yeah but reading about how Muhammad flew “faster than light” should not have made him think of Einstein.
If he’s done his homework he would realize that that heathen committed heresy by saying that Muhammad and his donkey could NOT fly any faster than light.
Edward Cline says
Hey, all you readers. You’re being cruel and unfair to Kani. He’s a graduate with honors from Al-Azhar University in Cairo, the “Harvard” of the Islamic world. It’s older than Oxford, Cambridge, and the University of Bologna. He did his graduate work in Islamic cosmology, and pioneered differential calculus, also invented by a Muslim scientist when Britons and Germans were still counting on their fingers. He also perfected the flushable toilet.

Muslims have pulled this stupidity before. Here’s the claim that astronaut Neil Armstrong heard the Muslim call to prayer on the moon and converted to Islam:
http://wikiislam.net/wiki/Neil_Armstrong_(Conversion_to_Islam)
One of the stupid claims of “proof” of this was that Armstrong had “moved to a Muslim country” after his retirement. The “country” in question? He made his home in Lebanon, Ohio (not the country of Lebanon).
There is also a Fatwa declaring that this story is false. Not surprisingly, though, rather than straightforwardly debunking this idiocy, it claims that:
“We have got used to hearing stories like that which then turn out to false, and it seems that this is a deliberate attempt to shake the faith of the ordinary Muslims…”
In which case, the ludicrous story, above, is probably a plot against Sunni Muslims…sarc/off

By the way—I kid you not—Al-Sadiq was the figure who established Taqiyya as a formal Shi’ite doctrine. (Before this, Muslim lying was more of an ad hoc affair…)

………………………
I’ve never been entirely sure about that, Defcon 4. I know that *some* Muslims believe this sort of easily disproven tripe.
The odd thing is that few Muslims—especially the most devout—have any real respect for science and reason.
But many supremacist Muslims are simply unable to believe that anyone can accomplish anything without Islam—despite the abundant proof to the contrary. Therefore, anyone who is widely admired *must* perforce be Muslim.
Then there is Da’wa—claiming respected figures as Muslim makes Islam look better. Of course, this is pretty ham-fisted Da’wa—few Infidels believe this idiocy—but then devout Muslims like this Ayatollah don’t tend to be too bright.
And yet, this unrelenting campaign of Da’wa hasn’t been completely ineffective—many credulous Infidels *do* believe, quite laughably, that Islam has made great contributions to science.
And this is, at times, aided by “politically correct” dhimmis themselves—the British Museum recently had an exhibit on the supposed past glories of “Islamic science”:
http://www.frontpagemag.com/2013/bruce-bawer/islamic-science/
Never mind that the real strides in science have been in Dar-al-Harb, especially in the West, and that the hated Joooooooos have a great showing among Nobel Prizes, while only a handful of Muslims over the past century have made any such contributions, and that not a one has been an orthodox Muslim—all have been considered “apostates” or “heretics”, and several have been attacked and even murdered because of their work. Moreover, all of these individuals did their work at Western institutions.
In that same vein, scientists at a single American university—my alma mater the University of California at Berkeley—have won four times the number of Nobel Prizes as the *entire Muslim world*.

Einstein was a muslim the same way the large majority of people muslim scientists throughout history were muslims. Except that no muslim nation invaded Germany or the US and made Einstein’s life miserable unless he converted to islam and threatened to kill him for apostasy unless his discoveries were somehow “based” on the islamic texts. So, yeah, he wasn’t a muslim nor did he had to pretend to be one to live a life with dignity.

I am currently studying several masekhtot of the Talmud Bavli and the Midrash Rabbah, both of which predate Islam’s invention by several centuries, , and I am astounded at how many ideas were later copied, sometimes word-by-word, by the “great” illiterate Arab charlatan we call Muhamed.
