The official dogma is that all Muslims in America are peaceful, law-abiding citizens who abhor “extremism” and reject all terrorism. Somehow Mohammad Haffan Hamdan didn’t get the memo, and was caught trying to join the jihad terrorists of Hizballah in Syria. Was he taught his views of Islam in one of the Shi’ite mosques in Dearborn? Does anyone know? Does anyone care? Or would that be “Islamophobic”?
Also, why didn’t the Freep have its usual pro-jihad stooge, Niraj Warikoo, write this piece? Or is he in mourning because the guy got caught?
“Feds: Dearborn Heights man arrested, plotted to join terrorists in Syria,” by Tresa Baldas for the Detroit Free Press, March 17 (thanks to all who sent this in):
A Dearborn Heights man is in federal custody on terrorism charges for allegedly plotting to travel to Syria “in order to fight alongside Hizballah,” according to court documents.
Hizballah is a well-known, worldwide terrorist organization in Lebanon that has been linked to numerous terrorist attacks, including suicide truck bombings of U.S. embassies and the 1985 hijacking of TWA Flight 847, during which a U.S. Navy diver was murdered.
Mohammad Haffan Hamdan, 22, was arrested at Detroit Metro Airport on Sunday night after clearing a security checkpoint, but prior to boarding an Air France flight bound for Paris and then to Lebanon.
According to a criminal complaint filed in U.S. District Court today, Hamdan’s sister knew of his plans to fight with Hizballah and tried to stop that from happening by taking his Lebanese passport. Hamdan, a Lebanese national who came to the United States in 2007, is a permanent resident. He applied to become a U.S. citizen last November.
Hamdan’s attorney, Art Weiss, was not immediately available for comment.
The FBI learned of his plan to travel to Syria with the help of a confidential informant who contacted the agency last September and told them about Hamdan’s plan, according to court records.
According to court documents, here is what the FBI learned about Hamdan from the informant:
Hamdan told the informant he wanted to travel to Syria by Christmas 2013 to fight alongside Hizballah. He revealed, however, that he couldn’t leave because his sister had taken his Lebanese passport and wouldn’t give it back to him. Hamdan also told the informant that he wanted to become an active member of Hizballah and that he had previously been involved with the group during the war with Israel in 2006, one year before he immigrated to the United States. He also admitted to the informant that he had received military training from Hizballah, that it started at a very early age and that it included training on operating various weapon systems. Hamdan said that he would be paid between $500 and $1,000 a month by “the party,” meaning Hizballah, to fight in Syria.
The FBI recorded this conversation with the informant in which Hamdan was heard stating “I am leaving behind a family … my uncle’s tried to convince me (not to go) … but this is my decision and no one else’s …”
Hamdan said the timing of his trip to Lebanaon would depend on his ability to get a Lebanese or U.S. passport. To be able to apply for a temporary passport, he filed a police report March 4 with Dearborn Heights police saying his passport had been stolen. On March 15, the FBI learned that Hamdan had booked a flight to Lebanon. He would leave Detroit Metro at 10:30 p.m. on March 16 on Air France Flight 378 and arrive in Paris the next morning. He bought a round-trip ticket, but the FBI doubted he would be returning to the United States. For example, Hamdan had given ownership of his vehicle to his sister and had asked the informant on Saturday to sell Hamdan’s work van and give the money to Hamdan’s family.
Upon his arrest, he denied any plans to join Hizballah or to fight Syria. He also denied ever telling anyone that he had such plans. He said the purpose of his trip to Lebanon was to have dental work done.
Yeah, everybody knows you can’t get dental work done in the United States.

Can we get a Malaysian 777 to Detroit Metro Airport, and load it up with this guy and any others interested in the trip?

Sooner than later, no such arrests will be made. Muslim fanatics have targeted our governmental agencies and will prevent the FBI from doing its job. They have infiltrated our police departments as well. This is the worst mafia takeover in history. The Italian mobsters pale by comparison. Not even Bugsy Siegel and the Jewish mob can compare to the endless stream of Muslim thugs taking over at every level.

If it is wrong to generalize all Muslims as violent then it must also be wrong to generalize all Muslims as peaceful.
Then again if Islam is peace then an extremist peace nut is still peaceful, only more peaceful than average.

hmmmmm…it’s true Muslim immigrants do bring their Islamic baggage and their inculcated hostility undeclared at customs, packed carefully in their mental package, and to be unpacked as soon as they are safely in the country.

From the article –
“Hamdan, a Lebanese national who came to the United States in 2007, is a permanent resident. He applied to become a U.S. citizen last November.” [But, presumably, does not yet have US citizenship – let us be thankful for small mercies – dda].
“He bought a round-trip ticket, but **the FBI doubted he would be returning to the United States.** {my emphasis – dda} For example, Hamdan had given ownership of his vehicle to his sister and had asked the informant on Saturday to sell Hamdan’s work van and give the money to Hamdan’s family.”
Oooo-kay.
He is a “Lebanese national” and a “permanent residency” of the US. Cannot that permanent residency be …cancelled?
Who wants a Hezbollahnik as a US citizen, to add to all the *other* Hezbollahniks and Hamasniks *already* toting US passports which mean nothing to them except as a temporary and tactical convenience?
And the FBI thought he would probably not be returning?
He should have been permitted to go and then, once it was ascertained that he was in Lebanon, or in Syria after that, his US residency should have been cancelled, on security grounds. At least it seems to me to be highly unlikely that his application for *citizenship* will be granted!
Given that the FBI foolishly prevented him from *leaving*, they may as well go through with the trial and jail him; but then, sentence served, he should be stripped of his residency and DEPORTED, back to Lebanon from whence he originally came.
ACT for America ought to be running a big campaign, lobbying Congress and Senate to tighten up the laws pertaining to the granting of temporary and permanent residency…and of citizenship.
