Exposing the role that Islamic jihad theology and ideology play in the modern global conflicts

Obama threatens Netanyahu: Make peace with the “Palestinians,” or else

Mar 3, 2014 8:34 am By Robert Spencer

obama-netanyahu2Obama is pressuring Israel to accept a “contiguous” Palestinian state, which would mean an Israel that is non-contiguous or severely diminished in size. Note that he has never, not even once, pressured the “Palestinians” to recognize the existence and legitimacy of Israel, or paid more than cursory lip service to the idea that they need to do so. He has never asked them to curb the genocidal rhetoric that is regularly featured on “Palestinian” TV, or to stop referring to jihad mass murderers as “heroes,” etc. Obama has been an inveterate and unwavering foe of Israel ever since he became President. He will not end his presidency without trying to administer a death blow to the Jewish State.

“Obama warns of ‘fallout’ for Israel if peace effort fails,” from Reuters, March 3:

WASHINGTON (Reuters) – President Barack Obama, issuing a veiled warning to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on the eve of talks, said in an interview published on Sunday it would be harder for Washington to defend Israel against efforts to isolate it internationally if U.S.-led Middle East peace talks fail.

Obama, speaking to Bloomberg View, also made clear that he would press Netanyahu to allow him the time needed to test Iran’s willingness to curb its nuclear ambitions, despite the Israeli leader’s deep skepticism of the West’s diplomatic engagement with Tehran.

Responding to the interview, a senior Israeli cabinet minister said the Netanyahu government was serious about peace but would not be pressured into endangering the Jewish state.

Obama said the “the window is closing” for a peace deal between Israel and the Palestinians, and called on Netanyahu to “seize the moment” to help achieve a framework agreement that Secretary John Kerry is trying to forge to extend peace talks.

Obama said his message to Netanyahu in a White House meeting scheduled for Monday would be: “If not now, when? And if not you, Mr. Prime Minister, then who?”

Obama said if peace talks fail and Israel presses ahead with expansion of Jewish settlements on occupied land in the West Bank, then Washington would have limited ability to protect it from “international fallout.”

Though he did not specify what kind of actions Israel might face, Palestinians have threatened to try to join international tribunals where they could make their case against Israel.

The Jewish state is also facing a boycott and divestiture movement that has made some inroads in Europe but has had little impact in the United States.

“What I do believe is that if you see no peace deal and continued aggressive settlement construction and … if Palestinians come to believe that the possibility of a contiguous sovereign Palestinian state is no longer within reach, then our ability to manage the international fallout is going to be limited,” Obama said….

In the interview, Obama repeated his opposition to any congressional move to impose further sanctions on Iran while it is engaged in talks with Washington and other world powers.

“It is profoundly in all of our interests to let this process play itself out,” Obama said. ” Let us test whether or not Iran can move far enough to give us assurances that their program is peaceful.”

Saying that new sanctions would derail diplomacy, Obama said: “You don’t start shooting in the middle of the room during the course of negotiations.”

However, Obama did not touch on the main point of contention – Netanyahu’s demand that Iran be forced, in a final nuclear deal, to dismantle all of its uranium enrichment centrifuges, compared to the president’s suggestion that Tehran could be allowed a small program for civilian purposes.

Steinitz said the current course of the diplomacy could turn Iran into a “nuclear threshold state” – with the required infrastructure to get the bomb in short order.

Obama insisted that, contrary to Netanyahu’s assertions, existing sanctions on Iran are largely holding. He also expressed confidence that Tehran was convinced he was keeping all options on the table, including military action, should diplomacy fail and Iran seek to develop a nuclear weapon.

“I know they take it seriously,” Obama said….

Oh yes, they take it very seriously. And they’re keeping options on the table, too. As Ayatollah Ahmad Jannati recently told a crowd in Tehran: “Death to America is the first option on our table.”

The Islamic nations revere the Torah, so they claim. They also are supposed to believe in charity regarding their fellows.
It seems quite simple to just allot Israel the lands as designated in antiquity as Judah and Israel, with the Israeli’s helping to fund settlement of muslims wishing to relocate to muslim nations. I am sure Israel would be considerate in allowing free access to Al-Aqsa and any other Islamic sites withing their borders.
Israel has been willing to accommodate sanctions previously, it has never been enough for the arabs.

      ‘Simple’? ‘Charity’?

Firstly, how can Muslims ‘give back’ a piece of Dar Islam without betraying Allah? Secondly, ‘charity’ is a Christian concept, opposed by the Islamic concept of ‘al-walaa wal-baraa’.

There has never been a Palestinian State in the history of mankind. That being said, Israel can not trust the Muslims in the White House. Obama has already betrayed the people of the United States. What makes the Jews think that he would not betray them.

“So they claim” is what’s operative, revg. In fact, it is a dogma to islam that the Christians and Jews hopelessly corrupted the Old and New Testaments, so it’s better to use those Scriptures for TP than read them. Now, they still don’t explain how the Christians and Jews, at loggerheads all these years, have basically the same OT text (albeit with the Prophetes and Kethuvim in different order), or how all those Christian sects still end up with the same NT…

      • revg says

        Mar 3, 2014 at 11:50 am

Hence my inclusion of those words (“so they claim”), and yes, despite all the claims, it is amazing how well those texts were preserved, and the multitudes of references available for verification, in the case of the NT.

Obama is delusional. Arabs don’t see ‘Palestine’ when they look at the map; they see ‘Lower Syria’. Jordan itself is an artificial state created for Britain’s tribal ally Sherif Hussein ibn Ali. There is a good chance, there would never be an independent Arab ‘Palestine’ anyway. In all likelihood, it would be absorbed into Jordan.

President Obama believes first and foremost in freedom of rights…freedom for the Israelis and freedom for the Palestinians.

This freedom stands above his “commitment” to Israel…and this “freedom” does not show preference to Israel, nor to any. In fact, this “freedom” even dictates that it is right to be free to worship ANY god…and the Israelis also live by this belief for they have confessed that there is no official ‘God’ of Israel but that it believes in freedom of all religions / gods.

And President Obama, leader of the free world, will sacrifice whatever is required for this FREEDOM…his ‘god of fortresses’….this image that speaks with authority and that all worship.

For this FREEDOM dictates that it is right for EACH to be free to serve and magnify oneself (XES).

BUT it is written that we are to worship Only the One Creator and to serve Him Alone, His Will Alone.

Soon, The One King Jesus Christ, Son of the One Creator, will return to rule the earth in power according to and in obedience to the Will of Yehowah Elohim and NOT according to man’s first love for his “freedom”.

The weakest link in the world at this time is the pathetic excuse who is currently the President of the United States of America. There are, of course, many other weak links out there. Let’s see now, a pathetic PC/MC Britain, an extra-silly EU, a UN dominated by the OIC, et al., but I’d put the community organizer become POTUS (and thanks again to all the fools who voted for this guy, especially those who voted for him twice) at the top of this sorry list.

When America dirfts, as it most certainly is doing so under Obama, the world drifts and tyrants feel emboldened. One knows this or should know it.

Meanwhile, Israel is on its own as long as Obama is President. Netanyahu understands this full well and will act accordingly—–as is his right. Long live Israel, and I say this as one who is not Jewish but who is an American patriot and who understands that if Israel should cease to exist it would be a calamity for America and all the West. Think Obama grasps this? If so, think again.

A new Oscar category. It is amazing that even Israelis themselves hold that Obama has equivalence with or power over Netanhayu just because he talks down to him in public. Paraphrasing a Malcolm-X tutorial, The White House is the Big House in the cotton plantation where Netanhayu is the current proxy of the owner. Kerry is the Governor and has fine-tuned the art dog-whistling. Obama is the (pardon Malcolm’s pun) house-negro and a better dog-whistler at that. His job description is simple. Rein in the (pardon Malcolm’s pun) field-negros on the home-front, rubber-stamp the wishes of his master on the world stage, while pretending to grant the Arabs, theirs. Abbas is the concierge and a wishful Ottoman, but that’s another (Malcolm) story.

    Comment on Reuters:

“Obama said if peace talks fail and Israel presses ahead with expansion of Jewish settlements on occupied land in the West Bank, then Washington would have limited ability to protect it from “international fallout.”

    That’s called a “threat”.

“It is profoundly in all of our interests to let this process play itself out,” Obama said. ” Let us test whether or not Iran can move far enough to give us assurances that their program is peaceful.”

“I know they take it seriously,” Obama said.

“Iran says it is not seeking a nuclear bomb and that its nuclear program is strictly for peaceful civilian purposes.”

To believe this is called sheer stupidity. Most people who are even remotely familiar with this issue just shake their heads in disgust when seeing this “peaceful purposes” statement.

You can’t even call Obummer the worst negotiator. He’s done every thing but turn around, drop his pants and bend over.

Obummer is a disaster. D-I-S-A-S-T-E-R. He is the worst. We might as well have the Ayatollah and Putin sitting in the White House. Just to get a clue everyone should read Seymour M. Hersh’s article “Whose Sarin?” A good Primer on this “right of return” BS is Leon Uris’ “The Haj”. Followed up by Brigitte Gabriel’s “Because They Hate”. (And that’s the problem; people don’t READ.)

Jihad Watch puts it right on the line. Why can’t Reuters?

“Obama is pressuring Israel to accept a “contiguous” Palestinian state, which would mean an Israel that is non-contiguous or severely diminished in size. Note that he has never, not even once, pressured the “Palestinians” to recognize the existence and legitimacy of Israel, or paid more than cursory lip service to the idea that they need to do so. He will not end his presidency without trying to administer a death blow to the Jewish State.”

And Martin Kramer (“Ivory Towers On Sand: The Failure of Middle Eastern Studies in America”):

“Gaza is a place with no Israeli settlements, from which Israel has totally withdrawn to the 1967 lines, and which nonetheless has become a Hamas terror state. That’s what happens in conditions of Gazafication. So when people say that in a two-state solution, Palestinians would have a “right of return” to the West Bank and not Israel, I do not find that particularly reassuring either. Any influx of Palestinians across the Jordan poses a problem for Israel, and it is naive to dismiss it. I would like to hear how, in a two-state scenario, Gazafication of the West Bank can be prevented. I haven’t heard it yet.”

    Neither have I.

The America-hating, white-hating, Jew-hating Muslim Socialist in the White House knows he has only 3 more years to destroy or severely weaken Israel, so that his equally hateful supporters may rejoice and write him into the history books as a great President.

And then we have Hilary Clinton in the bolthole after Benghazi and several other bloopers, waiting for 2015 – just next year – before a new version will be marketed to take the chair in 2016.

I repeat my prediction, that Israel will not celebrate her centenary as a Jewish state. I may be wrong by some years or even a generation, but neither makes a difference. The only variable is the amount of Jewish blood that will be shed, ironically to the backdrop of “never again,” as the world watches.

    Let’s revisit …

    http://www.discoverthenetworks.org/individualProfile.asp?indid=1347

    RASHID KHALIDI

Professor of Middle East Studies at Columbia University
    Former PLO operative
Has justified as legitimate Palestinian “resistance” that results in death of armed Israelis
Rejects the possibility of a two-state solution for the Israeli-Palestinian conflict

Rashid Khalidi is the Edward Said Professor of Arab Studies at Columbia University, and Director of the Middle East Institute (MEI) at Columbia’s School of International and Public Affairs. In his role as MEI Director, Khalidi presides over a $300,000 annual grant from the federal government. He ranks among the most prominent members of the Middle Eastern studies community in the United States. His books are among the most frequently assigned works on the Middle East in American college syllabi. Arab and American media outlets alike seek him out regularly as a leading authority on the Middle East.

Khalidi is also a Board of Trustees member of the non-governmental organization MIFTAH; a notable fellow Board member is Khalil Jahshan, President of the Washington, DC-based National Association of the Arab Americans.

Khalidi was born in New York in 1950, the son of a Palestinian father and a Lebanese mother. He earned a B.A. from Yale University in 1970 and a Ph.D. from Oxford in 1974. During the Seventies, Khalidi taught for a brief time at a university in Beirut, where he often spoke to reporters on behalf of Yasser Arafat’s Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO). Prior to joining the Columbia faculty, Khalidi was a professor at the University of Chicago, where he served as Director of both the Center for Middle Eastern Studies and the Center for International Studies.
Khalidi has long cited the late Edward Said as his major academic influence. Following the latter’s death in 2003, Khalidi penned an obituary that valorized Said for “giving a voice to the voiceless” via his “eloquent espousal of the cause of Palestine.” In this context, Khalidi likened Said to another of his idols, Noam Chomsky:

“Like Noam Chomsky and very few others, he [Said] managed not only to reshape his own field of scholarly endeavor, but to transcend it, influencing other fields and disciplines, and going well beyond the narrow boundaries of the American academy to become a true public intellectual, and a passionate voice for humanistic values and justice in an imperfect world.”

As with Said before him, Khalidi’s involvement with the Palestinian cause goes beyond mere support. News reports — including a 1982 dispatch from Thomas Friedman of the New York Times — suggest that he once served as Director of the Palestinian press agency, Wikalat al-Anba al-Filastinija. Khalidi’s wife, Mona, was reportedly the agency’s main English-language editor between 1976 and 1982. Khalidi so strongly identified with the aims of the PLO, which was designated as a terrorist group by the State Department during Khalidi’s affiliation with it in the 1980s, that he repeatedly referred to himself as “we” when expounding on the PLO’s agenda. Additional evidence of Khalidi’s intimacy with the PLO can be seen in his involvement with the organization’s so-called “guidance committee” in the early 1990s.

Khalidi’s 1986 book, Under Siege: P.L.O. Decision-Making During the 1982 War, was dedicated to Yasser Arafat. Opening with a glowing tribute to anti-Israel fighters (“to those who gave their lives during the summer of 1982 … in defense of the cause of Palestine and the independence of Lebanon”), the book offered an airbrushed account of PLO-instigated violence against Israelis and Lebanese. By contrast, Syria’s brutal occupation of Lebanon elicited no criticism from the author.

In 1995 Khalidi and his wife founded the Arab American Action Network (AAAN), noted for its view that Israel’s creation in 1948 was a “catastrophe” for Arab people.

In 1998 Khalidi published Palestinian Identity, a book in which he details what he believes are the major trials and indignities endured by Palestinians:

“The quintessential Palestinian experience, which illustrates some of the most basic issues raised by Palestinian identity, takes place at a border, an airport, a checkpoint…. For it is at these borders and barriers that six million Palestinians are singled out for ‘special treatment,’ and [are] forcefully reminded of their identity … [E]very Palestinian is exposed to the possibility of harassment, exclusion, and sometimes worse, simply because of his or her identity.”
Other books penned by Khalidi include: The Iron Cage: The Story of the Palestinian Struggle for Statehood (2007); Resurrecting Empire: Western Footprints and Americ’s Perilous Path in the Middle East (2004); and The Origins of Arab Nationalism (1993).

Characterizing Israel as a “racist” state that is “basically an apartheid system in creation,” Khalidi claims that the Israeli army is in possession of “awful weapons of mass destruction (many supplied by the U.S.) that it has used in cities, villages and refugee camps.”

Khalidi formerly expressed some tepid support for the notion of an Israeli state alongside a Palestinian one. In more recent years, however, he has taken to dismissing such a solution as hopelessly unrealizable. At a February 2005 conference at Columbia, titled “One State or Two? Alternative Proposals for the Middle East,” Khalidi agreed with his Columbia colleague, Joseph Massad, in declaring that the two-state solution was an impractical “utopian vision.” Khalidi further assailed Israel’s very legitimacy, proclaiming it to be “a state that exists today at the expense of the Palestinians,” an existence that “fails to meet the most important requirement: justice.”

The February 2005 conference was not the first time that Khalidi had dismissed the possibility of a two-state solution. In March 2004, when Israeli forces assassinated Hamas leader Sheik Ahmed Yassin, Khalidi told Newsweek: “I really think that the killing of this individual may well be the last nail in the coffin of the two-state solution.”

Khalidi deceptively styles himself as a “severe critic of Hamas.” But mere days after the terrorist attacks of 9/11, he rebuked the news media for what he termed their exaggerated “hysteria about suicide bombers.”

During a June 2002 speech before a conference of the American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee, Khalidi offered a justification for the murder of armed Israelis:

“Killing civilians is a war crime. It’s a violation of international law. They are not soldiers. They’re civilians, they’re unarmed. The ones who are armed, the ones who are soldiers, the ones who are in occupation, that’s different. That’s resistance.”

Scholarly institutions that do not promote anti-Israel propaganda have incurred Khalidi’s wrath. Appearing on Al-Jazeera TV in 2004, Khalidi took aim at the prominent Middle Eastern Studies think-tank, the Washington Institute for Near East Policy (WINEP). That the non-partisan center is headed by Dennis Ross (a respected diplomat and a former Middle East envoy in the Bill Clinton and George H.W. Bush administrations), and that it regularly hosts speakers from the Middle East who are critical of Israel, did not prevent Khalidi from execrating WINEP as “the most important Zionist propaganda tool in the United States.”

Khalidi strongly opposed the 2003 U.S.-led invasion of Iraq. In an illuminating polemic which he penned for the January 2003 issue of the far-left journal In These Times, Khalidi, even as he conceded that “international terrorism has been sponsored by Iraq,” dismissed the notion that such an invasion could have any legitimate justification. Instead, he put forward a farrago of theories that he described as the “real reasons” for the impending war:

“First, it will be fought because of an aggressive, ideological vision of America’s place in the world, propagated by the neo-conservatives who dominate the commanding heights of the American bureaucracy. Their vision proposes unfettered world hegemony for the United States, to be consecrated by the demonstration of U.S. power crushing a weak Iraq.

“Second, this war will be fought because of an obsession with control of the strategic resources (read: oil) and geography offered by the Middle East, with the view of neutralizing potential challengers to American hegemony in the 21st century [meaning primarily China].”

As Khalidi saw it, the looming war against Iraq was the brainchild of “racist” neo-conservatives who were: (a) doing the bidding of the Israeli Likud party to which they paid an undeclared allegiance; (b) aiming “to make the Middle East safe not for democracy, but for Israeli hegemony”; and (c) acting upon their “racist view that Middle Easterners understand only force.” “For these American Likudniks and their Israeli counterparts,” wrote Khalidi, “sad to say, the tragedy of September 11 was a godsend: It enabled them to draft the United States to help fight Israel’s enemies.”

In March 2008 Khalidi called for the recompense of the Iraqi people for the suffering they had endured at the hands of the U.S. “We owe reparations to the Iraqi people,” he told an audience at Columbia University. Also speaking at that event was the socialist writer Anthony Arnove. Both Khalidi and Arnove called for mass anti-war activism and demanded America’s unilateral withdrawal from Iraq.

Khalidi similarly had opposed the first Gulf War in 1991, when he characterized public support for the U.S.-led defense of Kuwait as an “idiots’ consensus.”

Khalidi is longtime a friend of Barack Obama and Michelle Obama. In the 1990s, Obama and his wife were regular dinner guests at Khalidi’s Chicago home. During the 2000 election cycle, Mr. and Mrs. Khalidi organized a fundraiser for Barack Obama’s unsuccessful congressional bid. In 2001 and again in 2002, the Woods Fund of Chicago, while Mr. Obama served on its board, made grants totaling $75,000 to Khalidi’s Arab American Action Network. In 2003 Obama would attend a farewell party in Khalidi’s honor when the latter was leaving the University of Chicago to embark on his new position at Columbia.

In a 2008 interview, Khalidi praised Obama effusively, stating that, if elected President, Obama would be more understanding of the Palestinian experience than other politicians. “He has family literally all over the world,” Khalidi noted. “I feel a kindred spirit from that.”
Obama is not the only political figure whom Khalidi has supported. In 2003, for instance, the professor contributed $1,000 to Democrat Jesse Jackson, Jr.’s congressional campaign.

Among the donors to Khalidi’s endowed chair at Columbia are: (a) the United Arab Emirates; (b) the Hauser Foundation, a New York charity headed by Rita Hauser, a controversial philanthropist whose onetime law firm — Stroock, Stroock & Lavan — was registered with the Department of Justice as an agent for the Palestinian Authority until 2001; and (c) the Olayan Charitable Trust, a New York-based charity with ties to the Olayan America Corporation, an arm of the Saudi organization the Olayan Group.

So where is the vaunted International Jewish Conspiracy when ya need it? Where is the Jewish controlled media we’ve heard so much about over the decades?

What we’ve got instead is the ugly spectacle of the Jews being pushed around, sacrificial lambs in the explosive death of freedom. Bibi ain’t liking it, and he shouldn’t. I don’t like it either, and I ain’t even a Jew. One could argue that Israel is the best nation on earth, and they’re being set up for the fall.

Why can’t everyone just get along? It seems like they want to fight. Christ, it seems like they have been fighting forever! What’s the point of trying to understand a religious war? It will go on forever. It’s medieval madness. Leave them alone to fight their fight. Let them all (the people who want to fight) blow each others brains out. Turn away. Nobody can win…..ever. Why support either side? It’s total and complete insanity. It’s the very definition of insanity. How long has this war been going on? How could anyone ever expect a different outcome? Peace in the Middle East?….please. It won’t happen. Religious wars can’t be won. We all know this.

      Eric,

Don’t be a moron out here.

“Turn away. Nobody can win…..ever. Why support either side? It’s total and complete insanity.”

      Do you really believe that?

“What’s the point of trying to understand a religious war?”

You think islam is just another religion, on the same moral ground as Judaism?

      Peddle your bullshit somewhere else.

I disagree. Religious wars can indeed be won, but they need to be acknowledged first, and this is something for which our glorious leaders have no stomach.

This is why we hear from Western politicians and media, time and again after each atrocity, that it has nothing to do with religion.

And this is further proof that religious wars can be won, since Islam is winning against the civilised world – by default.

Future generations will scratch their heads in disbelief, that the most advanced civilisation in world history, so readily capitulated to the most backward, evil, and barbaric.

last I heard Israel has tried to make peace with the Palestinians 5 times in the past. So why no peace now, obviously the Palestinians want land and to destroy Israel, quite frankly why these so called leaders think peace can be achieved through Israel giving up concessions now is beyond me. Do these fools actually think the Palestinians will honour a deal now? they never did in the past?
