“Tough measures against the Brotherhood suggest the authorities still see it as a major threat, even though most of its leaders and thousands of members are behind bars. Authorities are well aware that the movement founded in 1928 has survived repression under successive Egyptian autocrats.” Indeed, and it will survive this repression as well — indeed, the present government is being so harsh that it is likely to provoke a backlash of sympathy and support for the Brotherhood, despite Morsi’s spectacular failure as President.
“Egyptian court sentences top Muslim Brotherhood leader to death,” by Yasmine Saleh, Reuters, April 28:
MINYA, Egypt (Reuters) – An Egyptian court sentenced the leader of the outlawed Muslim Brotherhood and 682 supporters to death on Monday, intensifying a crackdown on the movement that could trigger protests and political violence ahead of an election next month.
The Brotherhood, in a statement issued in London, described the ruling as chilling and said it would “continue to use all peaceful means to end military rule”.
In another case signaling growing intolerance of dissent by military-backed authorities, a pro-democracy movement that helped ignite the uprising that toppled autocrat Hosni Mubarak in 2011 was banned by court order, judicial sources said.
The death sentence passed on Mohamed Badie, the Brotherhood’s general guide, will infuriate members of the group which has been the target of raids, arrests and bans since the army forced President Mohamed Mursi from power in July.
Some Brotherhood members fear pressure from security forces and the courts could drive some young members to violence against the movement’s old enemy, the Egyptian state.
Badie, considered a conservative hardliner, was charged with crimes including inciting violence that followed the army overthrow of Mursi, who is also on trial on an array of charges.
The slight, 70-year-old veterinary professor stood trial in Cairo in a separate case hours after the sentence was affirmed.
“If they executed me one thousand times I will not retreat from the right path,” Badie was quoted as saying by lawyer Osama Mursi, who attended one of his trials in Cairo.
The comments were published on the Facebook page of Osama Mursi, son of the Brotherhood leader ousted as president.
Two security officials told Reuters that Badie appeared relaxed and joked, asking other Brotherhood members to buy him the red outfit that prisoners condemned to death wear.
Tough measures against the Brotherhood suggest the authorities still see it as a major threat, even though most of its leaders and thousands of members are behind bars.
Authorities are well aware that the movement founded in 1928 has survived repression under successive Egyptian autocrats….

Unfortunately you’re absolutely right, instead of following Egypt’s lead and declaring the Muslim Brotherhood the Terrorist Savages they are, we have a President who embraces the Muslim Brotherhood Terrorists even with the knowledge that they want to destroy America from within. When Vladimir Putin Called nations to come together against the genocide of Christians around the globe by Muslim Terrorists, President Obama ignored this request because he was supporting some of the worst Muslim Terrorists brutalizing Christian men, women and children. Recently Tony Blair has asked western nations to put aside their differences with Russia and China and come together against Muslim Terrorists around the globe. Under the Obama administration and their are some Republicans who have given support to Radical Muslims having the knowledge they were Terrorist supporters. – God Bless America, Israel, the NRA and all Real Freedom Fighting Patriots.

The news here in the USA didn’t have this trial on the main News Media Scardy Cats. It is good to hear the truth from JihadWatch.org with Robert Spencer who tells us the truth about Islam and shows us breaking news stories.

obama will get on the horn to the Egyptian government and attempt to rescue this mo-bro leader from certain death, and even offer this scumbag a job at the White House. Hey stranger things have happened: like obama becoming president, not once, but twice! Yeah the world has gone mad, so it isn’t crazy to think that obama might offer his services as savior to this evil guy.

“Continue to use”? How they can “continue” something they haven’t used?

Pro-democracy movement? Are they talking about the muslim brotherhood) Because i don’t recall hearing about a pro-democracy brotherhood?

They’re always angry. Angry that they aren’t in power, angry that christians don’t convert to islam, angry that christians don’t pay the jizya, angry that christians try to stop them from raping their women… They’re always angry at something, and they have islamic orthodoxy telling them that they can lash out at those who don’t grovel at their feet.

Hmmm, i wonder why. Maybe we should ask Lara Logan and Natasha Smith their opinion.

Yeah, right, as if the MB leaders never permitted that kind of actions!

The Prophet said, “By Him in Whose Hands my life is! Were it not for some men amongst the believers who dislike to be left behind me and whom I cannot provide with means of conveyance, I would certainly never remain behind any Sariya’ (army-unit) setting out in Allah’s Cause. By Him in Whose Hands my life is! I would love to be martyred in Allah’s Cause and then get resurrected and then get martyred, and then get resurrected again and then get martyred and then get resurrected again and then get martyred.

That’s what I was wondering. I don’t know a whole lot about the Muslim Brotherhood (I’m 14 and constantly surrounded by people who can’t see the problem with Islam), but based on what I know about Islam, I can make an educated guess that these people have used multiple methods of violence and torture to fulfill the wishes of Allah.

See if you can get hold of a book by a brilliant and very brave American investigative reporter, “John Roy Carlson”, called “Cairo to Damascus” (1951).
His adventures and hairsbreadth escapes are as amazing as anything in the “Tintin” books.
In order to see what the mohammedans were up to in 1948 in the mid-east, he pretended to be an Islamophile nazi-sympathising person (rather than the patriotic American and friend of Israel that he actually was), and he managed to get behind the lines, right in amongst the allahu-akbaring jihadis, and observe the mohammedans who were waging Jihad against the newly-born Jewish state of Israel.
And among other things, he scored an interview – face to face – with Hassan al-Banna, one of the leading lights of the Ikhwan, or Muslim Brotherhood. “Cairo to Damascus” is the book he wrote about his adventures and what he learned among the Muslims in Egypt, in Jordan and in Damascus. It has two chapters that will tell you all y ou need to know – “The Muslim (Black) Brotherhood” and “World of the Koran: Islam Ueber Alles”.
I *think* it may be available to read online; if not, it can probably be got fairly cheaply from Amazon or the like, or borrowed from a large library.
Highly recommended. It’s beautifully written and easy to read. And there are lots of wonderful old black and white photos…including a portrait of the sinister Hassan al-Banna, beloved grandpapa of the equally sinister but slier Tariq Ramadan.
PS Another book you might enjoy – it was written with youngsters like you in mind – is C S Forester’s “The Barbary Pirates”. Not about the Muslim Brotherhood, but about America’s very first run-in with murderous piratical Mohammedans. It will explain to you why the famous hymn of the American Marines includes a verse about “the shores of Tripoli”.

Curious Teenager,
I think it’s absolutely remarkable that you found the truth for yourself at such an early age. I wish there were more teenagers like you – maybe the world would be a far better and more enlightened place than now. Unfortunately, too many teenagers are not like you and lose themselves in superficial pursuits.
I feel honoured by the knowledge that someone like you exists. Please keep expanding your mind as you may become of service to your country, the rest of humanity or just the truth in general. The world needs more people like you.
Wishing you the best that life has to offer plus the greatest luxury of all – the truth,
RC

Hi, Curious Teenager.
dda’s recommendation, ‘Cairo to Damascus’ is available on Amazon as a kindle book, price £7.71p. I don’t know how much that would be, in dollars.
And I echo Reality Check’s words.

Just outta curiosity: how old are you and in which country are you resident?
And **do you have children?**
You sound like you’re trying to *discourage*, not encourage.
What do you want ‘curious teenager’ to do? Despair? Give up? Commit suicide?
Or…learn more, get active, maybe join ACT for American when s/he is old enough (or prod the parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles to join and get involved), and warn and wake up a whole lotta *other* teenagers – who will all be **old enough to vote by the time the next election comes round** and…start swinging this thing the other way??

Thank you, dumbledoresarmy. I don’t kid myself that my future will be all smiles and rainbows, but I certainly will do whatever I can to help young people like me realize the truth about their world and the things that are actually important. Was Donald Sterling offensive? Yes, of course, but some attention needs to be given to things like this, and that is what I want for everyone. Grit your teeth and don’t give up on the world, because not everything is bad. God has a purpose for all of us, and places certain situations in our lives so that we might find that purpose. So, defcon 5, don,’t give up hope for the future. You might just learn something from the younger generation.

Not so fast. This verdict is not final, I wish it was. We have to wait for the appeal court to make the final decision.
Too bad the international community is condemning the verdict. The UN, the EU, and of course the WH are raging against Egypt. They want to save their Masters from the Egyptian justice.
Just like Israel, Egypt is standing alone in its fight against islamic terrorism.

Still want to know Obamas connection with the MB and also when it first occurred. Egypt obviously has that info and we Americans need to know it. My concern is if Sisi will protect Copts and other Christians and Jews or will they be another Saudi Arabia.

There aren’t many Jews left in Egyptistan. Most of the them were smart enough to realize that when Egyptian leaders like Nasser rant and rave about “pushing the Jews into the sea” it’s probably a wise idea to get out even if you have to leave your properties and possessions behind.
I don’t know if there’s a single, functioning synagogue left in Egyptistan.

I believe the steaming piece of drek called Mohammad Morsi attended/graduated from California State University Northridge. He might have even been a professor there.
