Foes of jihad terror and Islamic supremacism are routinely charged with “racism,” but no one has yet answered my oft-repeated question: “What race is the jihad mass murder of innocent civilians again? I keep forgetting.” Anyway, Tim Burton of Liberty GB has been charged in Subjugated Britannia with “racially aggravated harassment” for calling Fiyaz Mughal of Tell Mama a “mendacious grievance-mongering taqiyya-artist,” which he obviously and demonstrably is, and nary a single one of those words is racial. Burton’s trial is a test case as to whether or not any modicum of sanity and backbone still exists in Dhimmi Britain.
“Is Islam a Race? Birmingham Trial Will Tell,” by Enza Ferreri for Liberty GB, April 4:
** LIBERTY GB PRESS RELEASE 4 APRIL 2014 **
On Tuesday 8 April at 10am Tim Burton’s trial at Birmingham Magistrates’ Court will settle the question of whether the defendant, by calling Muslim Fiyaz Mujhal “a mendacious grievance-mongering taqiyya-artist” on Twitter, committed racially aggravated harassment, as he is accused of having done by the West Midlands Police.
Mujhal was exposed by The Telegraph‘s Andrew Gilligan for exaggerating the numbers and seriousness of ‘anti-Muslim attacks’ following the Woolwich murder of soldier Lee Rigby and had his organisation Tell MAMA’s public funding discontinued. Many of these ‘attacks’ were in fact simple posts on Facebook and other social media, similar to the tweets for which Burton is on trial.
Tim is the Radio Officer of Liberty GB, a British newly-formed conservative and patriotic party.
Burton’s trial is very worrying for anyone who holds dear freedom of speech and other basic civil liberties. One of the worrisome aspects is the conflating of ‘religion’ with ‘race’. Islam is clearly not a race and Muslims belong to all races, including white European. Furthermore, the Crown Prosecution Service considers those two charges (racially- and religiously-aggravated crimes) as distinct ones.
But, despite officially paying lip service to this distinction, in Tim Burton’s case the CPS is trying to combine and confuse the two because it does not have sufficient grounds to get a conviction on the ‘religiously aggravated’ charge – which requires stronger evidence –, so decides to prosecute using the easier ‘racially aggravated’ one.
As the CPS’s own website says, “So it will be more difficult to prosecute for inciting religious as opposed to racial hatred”.
The attempt to ‘racialise Muslims’ clearly exists but not, as Tell MAMA says, on the part of Liberty GB. It exists on the part of British Islam apologists and their allies, the politically correct Establishment.
Since there are no blasphemy laws in the UK and criticism of any religion, including Islam, is theoretically tolerated, only two alternatives are left to British Muslims who want to protect Islam from the expression of the uncomfortable truths of its supremacist and violent nature. One is to invoke the introduction of a blasphemy law; the other, subtler and more effective, is to turn existing anti-racist, ‘hate crime’ laws into a sharia-style blasphemy law.
An attempt had previously been made by the Labour government, when the Racial and Religious Hatred Act 2006 was passed, to formulate it in such a way that it could criminalise criticism of Islam, the Quran and Muhammad. This was made impossible by the opposition of the Catholic Church and the Church of England, as well as various evangelical Christian groups who threatened to use this law against the Quran, which is full to the brim with incitements to religious hatred. Therefore the bill had to be amended.
But what went out legally by the door of Parliamentary procedure is now being reintroduced surreptitiously through the window of politically correct police and prosecution establishments.
This is why Liberty GB will hold a public protest outside Birmingham Magistrates’ Court on 8 April at 9am and considers this trial crucially important.
Our intention is twofold. Firstly, to show to the British and Western public what taqiyya – deception for the good of Islam – is and, given the special position in the relationship between Muslims and non-Muslims of this divine permission to lie, to show the whole nature of Islam in relation to us through it. For this reason, Islam scholar Professor Hans Jansen is scheduled to appear at the trial and give evidence as expert witness on taqiyya. We’ve christened this a ‘taqiyya trial’.
Secondly, to defend free speech and stop the effective use of anti-racist legislation as blasphemy laws.
More details here: http://libertygb.org.uk/v1/index.php/home/root/news-libertygb/6248-taqiyya-trials-in-europe
The defendant Tim Burton will be on the courtroom steps at 9:15am and then inside the main building from 9:30am ready to be interviewed.

Why not? The “races” we already recognize aren’t really races either. We are one race, the human race. We have different sizes, shapes, colors, creeds, etc…
Having a different colored skin or certain prominent features does not make you a different race from others.
Of course it opens the door for Catholics to demand racial preferences, as well as Democrats, Libertarians, Tea Partiers, etc…

Nobody has ever, as far as I know, called Christianity a race.
It is a religion. Just like islam originated in the Middle East.
Their followers come from various social classes and ethnic backgrounds.
Therefore islam is not a race.
Arabs are, such as Jews, black Africans , Caucasians , Asians, etc. an ethnicity with varying degrees of skin colour.
Religion is not and never has been a race.
Calling critics of Islam ” racists” is laughable at best and plain ignorant at worst.
veggiedog says
How are Jews a race?
Bluelilly says
Exactly.. They are ethnic. Please read my comment carefully.
I should have worded it more carefully myself.
Most people think in terms of race though or the word ” racist” would not exist.
Ethnic refers to cultural and religious groups
revg says
Nope. Those distinctions between peoples are not really race distinctions.

There are two levels of reality going on here:
1) the level clarified by Reason
2) the level obfuscated by Propaganda.
At certain times of history, or concerning certain issues, one sees (in the free world which, pace certain gloomily dystopic Counter-Jihadists, remains our First Reality) #2 gain more traction in terms of sociopolitical fashion.
In terms of #2, Christianity is indeed a white religion — or, more specifically, an honorary white religion(just as Judaism has become, with Israelis being honorary whites, an honorary white religion).
Meanwhile, under the clouded perspective of #2, Muslims have long been deemed an honorary ethnic people (or a wonderful diversity, mosaic, tapestry, quilt, stir-fry, of ethnic peoples).
Unfortunately, when #2 gains more traction in terms of sociopolitical fashion — as it has throughout the West — it becomes part of the reality with which we who live in First Reality, trying to think and feel in terms of Reason, have to fend, in (as Frank Gaffney has so aptly put it) the “battle space of the war of ideas”.

A religion is not a race ! It can be practised by certain ethnic groups of people, but criticising a religion or an ideology for that matter is not ” racial”
” race” is always used to refer to a persons skin colour. As nobody can help being born with the colour they are, it is an absurd discrimination and generalisation.
MLK king dreamed his children would be judged by their characters and not the colour of his skin.
Fair enough. If only everyone thought this way.

Race is falsely attributed to skin color.

Christian A. Beltram says
Calling Islam only serves one purpose, to demonize all critics of Islam so they will be shut up. Muslims know that Islam is not a race, but a religion. After all, the word Islam means submission to the will of Allah. Consequently, anybody who submits to the will of Allah regardless of race is a follower of Islam or a Muslim.
veggiedog says
Muslims/Islamists are very good at using one thing to defend themselves and the same thing to criticize others. Why do we let this happen is the real question? I heard on the news about the misconception of Muslims in the US since 9/11. The only misconception are those that think it was just a few nuts, they do not study and do not learn.

Why isn’t Mujhal on trial for incitement to hatred by Muslims of non-Muslims for exaggerating the attacks on Muslims? Imagine if non-Muslims made false claims of harrassment or “race-hatred” by Muslims: there would be hell to pay. Is one not allowed to accuse a liar of lying any more? Well, if that is how it is, then the judge is saying that lying is part of Islamic culture and as such must be protected from criticism. But then Cameron lied about Rigby’s murder having nothing to do with Islam. Either that or the murderers would have had to be set free as their actions were consistent with their religion, which has to be respected.
I guess lying is now “protected speech” to ensure “community cohesion” – though there will perhaps be different words used.

Details aside, the long and the short of this is is that freedom is in great peril in Britain. And where is Queen Elizabeth in all this? Yes, I know that no monarch has vetoed an Act of Parliament since Queen Anne did back in the early years of the 18th century. I understand Bagehot’s assessments of the role of a constitutional monarch, and so on and so on. But, what the hell is the crown of England (sorry, the UK) good for if it can’t put itself on the line from time to time In the interest of the entire nation—-hell, to save the entire nation?
The elites of Britain are failing their countrymen. Big time. It starts with the crown and goes from there downwards. Seems all the guts have been taken out of Britain. Damn shame since historically it would be hard to find a polity that had more guts over the centuries than England. Well, as the guts of Britain have been ripped out, so has liberty. It’s a directly proportional relationship. No courage, no freedom.

Looks like British jihadwatchers have an opportunity to stand up and be counted. There it is: Birmingham, Tuesday 8 April.
Of course, there is the problem that those who are in 9-5 paid employment, as many are, might not be able to be there because it is a working day.
But anybody who can somehow wangle the time off, or who is not in standard 9-5 employment – e.g. self-employed, professional, retired, currently unemployed – *ought* to be there, with bells on.
Make it BIG. If a thousand freedom-loving British patriots turn up, or two thousand, then that will make an impression.

There’s not a chance Burton will win in this case. Magistrates courts hardly ever find for anyone. As soon as you’re charged then you’re as good as convicted. I have a friend whose a senior magistrait having served for over 3 decades. In all that time he is proud to announce that he’s only found two people ‘not guilty’ and one of those was a mistake!
Worse still the fascists have already got the Islam = race thing through the courts because of the absence of religious laws.
Britain is an oppressive and controlled country, it is far from free, and not a nice place to live. People live in fear of offending the wrong groups, or uttering a word which might see them in court. Spies of the government are everywhere, zealously waiting to pounce on anyone failing to express the correct political view.
Difficult to believe that a once proud country has come to this, the corruption of the Tony BLiar and Nu Liebour has had a massively negative effect on the country.
Semeru says
Not true, Nick Griffin and Mark Collet where found not guilty for describing Islam as a “vicious, wicked faith.
On 14 December 2004, Griffin was arrested at his home in Wales, on suspicion of incitement to racial hatred, over remarks he made about Islam in an undercover BBC documentary titled The Secret Agent. He was questioned at a police station in Halifax, West Yorkshire, before being freed on police bail. He said that the arrest was “an electoral scam to get the Muslim block vote back to the Labour party” and that the Labour government was attempting to influence the results of the following year’s general election.
Griffin’s arrest was made two days after those of John Tyndall and several other people, over remarks they had made in the same programme. Following its broadcast on 15 July 2004, the police began an investigation into the programme’s contents. The following April he was charged with four offences of using words or behaviour intended or likely to stir up racial hatred.[68] The trial began in January 2006. Griffin stood alongside fellow party activist Mark Collett, who faced similar charges. Prosecuting, Rodney Jameson QC told the jury of six speeches that the accused had made in the Reservoir Tavern in Keighley on 19 January 2004. Reading excerpts from them, he claimed that they included threatening, abusive and insulting words directed at “people of Asian ethnicity”, with the intention of “stirring up racial hatred”.
Griffin was also accused of calling murdered black teenager Stephen Lawrence a drug dealer and bully who stole younger pupils’ dinner money.[70] In the witness box he defended himself by quoting passages from the Qur’an, saying that his comments describing Islam as a “vicious, wicked faith” were attacking not a race, but a religion. During the two-week trial he used a laptop to post daily updates on a blog on the BNP’s website. In his closing address, defence barrister Timothy King QC said:
The British National Party is a legal, political entity. It has a right in a democratic society to put forward ideas and policies which some might find uncomfortable and some might find even offensive. There has been a tendency in this case to over-analyse speeches, to take one line here and one line there. You have got to look at the overall impact of these speeches—remember the context of each speech.
Griffin and Collett were cleared of half the charges against them—the jury remained divided on the other charges, and a retrial was ordered. On 10 November 2006, after five hours of deliberations, the jury cleared them of all charges.
Charli Main says
In 2014, how are you going to get a jury that isn´t packed full of Muslims , all unbiased and fair minded of course ???
More and more Magistrates and Judges are Muslims and its will be increasingly difficult for all non Muslim communities, regardless of their skin colour, to get a fair trial in Muslim dominated courts.
Thoughtful says
2004 Is a very long time ago! Plus Griffin used the excuse that Gert Wilders used in his defence, that he was attacking the religion and not it’s followers. This is a very different case.
We know Mughal is a liar because it’s proven fact this is a case which pivots not so much on whether Islam is a race, but rather whether it is legal to criticise Islam and Muslims as Burton has done by using the Taqqiah.
Here is what Dhimmi Dave said of Tell Mama:
“We still have a huge battle fighting prejudice in our country, and I think perhaps particularly Islamophobia – people telling lies about your religion – is one that we have to face up to particularly strongly in our country. And it’s a time to remember that. It’s also a time to remember that welcoming people to our country of all faiths is something that has to go across every single part of life.”
“Tell MAMA was launched on 21 February 2012 by Eric Pickles MP, Secretary of State for the Department for Communities and Local Government ”
“Fiyaz Mughal OBE, a former adviser to the Leader of the Liberal Democrats, Nick Clegg, on Interfaith and Preventing Radicalisation and Extremism.”
What I am showing here is the level of political investment various parties have in seeing this case succeed, a degree of political capital which simply isn’t there with the BNP cases.
In addition the case was heard at the crown court in front of a jury, not at a magistrates court where they rarely find anyone not guilty, here’s a quote from Wikipedia:
” One criticism of magistrates’ courts is that they have high conviction rates in comparison to jury trials in Crown Courts because, it is suggested, magistrates have a bias in favour of the prosecution.”
The conviction rate in Magistrates courts has unbelievably risen! and it now convicts 87% as of 2011/12. Those who do escape their ‘justice’ largely do so because of CPS errors and witnesses failing to appear etc. The conviction rate of those cases which do proceed is closer to 100%
This case is quite complex involving legal issues which most magistrates will not understand, the decision therefore will be made by the clerk who is there to give legal advice, and in a case like this, that cannot be right.

Regarding the Birmingham trail; the mere fact that the useless CPS are taking this to trial is quite an alarming tell considering how often they will “decline to prosecute” simply to keep the crime statistics down. (In my time in the UK I have been assaulted twice walking in the street as well as having a Muslim gang try to take away my Cash Card at an ATM in full view of witnesses, security guards and CCTV cameras. On all occasions the “authorities” declined to take action!)
One commenter claimed that Islamic immigration was to do with labour shortage; it was not. It was started and encouraged by Labour governments after WW2 and has continued for decades. With the post war prosperity many of the traditionally Labour Party voters were drifting away from voting for the party. The Labour Party had to replace these voters to stay in power and they did that by encouraging immigration from the lowest echelons in places like Pakistan. These Labour Party scumbags knew that if they gave the Mullahs Mosques and Madrassas and allowed the ghettoization of towns in the name of “ethnic diversity” the Mullahs would order their congregants in the mosques to vote Labour. Immigration gave the Labour Party blocks of guaranteed votes. It seems that only recently have the Conservative fools started to wake up to this reality but their belated and wishy-washy response appears to similar to that of Labour Party.

Birmingham – Court 13
The presiding Judge had had the good sense to read and take heed of the expert advice presented to him beforehand by Dutch scholar of Islam Hans Jansen (who also appeared in person in the court, as a witness).
“Professor Hans Jansen was called as expert witness for the defence.
The Judge said he had the benefit of Prof. Jansen’s really helpful and lengthy statement.”
It appears that this Judge – “District Judge Mr Strongman” – was possessed of an independent mind, intelligence, commonsense, and a good BS detector. Note that he described Jansen’s briefing material as “really helpful”.
And at the end:
‘The Crown made an application for a restraining order against Mr Burton.
‘The Judge said “No. I have just confirmed his Article 10 rights – I’m certainly not going to make a restraining order.”’
Think about it. The silver lining here is this:
that, thanks to this trial, an English Judge who seems to be reasonably “on the ball” has had to read and now has in his possession, perhaps for future rereading and increasingly-horrified Awful Realization, Hans Jansen’s explanation of what constitutes Islamic taqiyya, religiously-sanctioned deception. Jansen is *brilliant* and completely non-dhimmified; he would have pulled no punches.
If the Judge – using his discretion – proceeds to share what he has just now learned about taqiyya with such of his fellow Judges (and others of his associates) as he deems may be willing and able to absorb it, the longterm knock-on effect could be…interesting.
Who knows…he may even, in his own time, do a little quiet googling around the subject, and find his way here, or else to Raymond Ibrahim’s site.
For all we know, he may even be lurking behind the hedge and peering over our shoulders, right now. If so…welcome, Your Honour. And thank you.
