Exposing the role that Islamic jihad theology and ideology play in the modern global conflicts

Turkey’s PM Erdoğan planning prayers with Islamic leaders in Hagia Sophia

Apr 30, 2014 9:02 am By Robert Spencer

Hagia SophiaRapidly re-Islamizing Turkey has already converted two churches back into mosques. They were converted to mosques at the time of the jihad conquest of the Byzantine Empire, and then made museums by the secular Turkish government. The same thing happened to the Hagia Sophia of Constantinople, once the foremost and grandest church in the entire Christian world. Its reconversion to use as a mosque would be the crowning hallmark of Turkey’s re-Islamization and re-Ottomanization.

“PM Erdoğan planning prayers with Islamic leaders in Hagia Sophia,” Hürriyet Daily News, April 30, 2014 (thanks to Halal Pork Shop):

The prayer at Hagia Sophia may be organized as part of the events held for the week marking Istanbul’s conquest by the Ottomans late May, according to Radikal. DAILY NEWS Photo

Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan is planning to perform prayers at Istanbul’s historic Hagia Sophia, along with the leaders of other Islamic countries, according to daily Radikal.

The ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) is reportedly considering organizing a special prayer in Istanbul’s most illustrious architectural setting ahead of the upcoming presidential elections next August. The move will come amid a wider “reform package” that will contain important steps on several thorny issues, from the opening of the Greek Orthodox Halki Seminary to giving legal status to Alevi cemevis as official places of worship.

The prayer at Hagia Sophia may be organized as part of the events held for the week marking Istanbul’s conquest by the Ottomans late May, according to Radikal. The government, however, remains concerned over the possible reactions that such an event could spark.

Previously, Deputy Prime Minister Bülent Arınç publically expressed his hope to see the Hagia Sophia, currently a museum, be converted into a mosque at some point in the future day. The suggestion was strongly condemned by Greece, which described it as an “insult to the religious sensibilities of millions of Christians.”

However, in a possible bid to balance potential controversy, the reform package prepared by the government may also include steps regarding the historic Halki Seminary.

Ankara has reportedly completed is preparations for ensuring the reopening of the Greek Orthodox Seminary of Halki, located on Istanbul’s Heybeliada island.

The government had previously set two preconditions for opening the seminary, calling on Greece to cease appointing state muftis and also to build a mosque in Athens. However, only Erdoğan’s instruction is now said to be needed for the reopening of Halki.

The reforms will also contain a change of approach on cemevis to respond to one of the most significant demands of the Alevis. The government may introduce a debate on legally recognizing Cemevis as worship places, before the anniversary of the Gezi protests in late May.

According to the Radikal report, the AKP also foresees adopting a softer stance over last year’s Gezi protests, “enhancing dialogue” with protest figures “who criticized the government but also reacted against vandalism.”

The government is also said to be gearing up the normalization process with Israel after the deal on compensation over the Marmara raid, with the reassignment of ambassadors from both countries.

The fresh “reform package” comes as increasing numbers of AKP figures voice their opinion that Erdoğan would be the most suitable candidate for presidency, rather than Abdullah Gül, in the August elections.

A good Moslem has a right to some Infidel meat once in a while. So the Turks got theirs with the Armenians. I think of it as a big cookout they held up there in the frozen mountains of eastern Asia Minor. It sez rat there in the first chapter of the Holy Ko-Ran that the Infidels are on the wrong path, and boy were the Armenians ever on the wrong path when they were marched up there.

So Erdogan wants to put the stolen church back into mosque operation. What’s next, prostrate services at the Taj Mahal? Maybe they can even resuscitate the original temple in Jerusalem.

        CogitoErgoSum,

I feel your pain. This type of islamic termite work is going on all over the country.

muslims are very obviously assaulting the United States the same way they have successfully (?) assaulted the U.K. … see “America Alone” by Mark Steyn.

This is what has happened out here in California to the nice little town of Temecula:

        http://www.pe.com/local-news/riverside-county/temecula/temecula-headlines-index/20120928-temecula-muslims-rejoice-at-start-of-mosque-construction.ece

        … excerpted:

Hundreds of residents protested the approval of the mosque, centering some of their opposition on a fear the center would serve as a gathering place for extremism, and also questioning land use and traffic issues.

Despite the public pushback, the Temecula Planning Commission approved the plans in December 2010. The approval was appealed to the City Council and council members rejected the appeal after a marathon eight-hour public hearing. A group fighting its construction, Concerned American Citizens, declined to take their fight to the courts.

The controversy thrust Temecula into the national spotlight as its timing coincided with the debate of an Islamic center blocks away from Ground Zero in New York City.

“Some people like to stereotype,” mosque member Fathma Muhamed said.

Turmoil, however, played no part in Friday’s ceremony.

At the request of mosque representatives, members of the Temecula Police Department were on-hand Friday to monitor the ceremony. No incidents were reported, however, and church leaders praised the peace in various speeches.

“We’re very pleased and happy and proud to be Muslim in America,” said Emad Rasheed, chairman of the center’s board. “By the grace of God we are here for this milestone.”

        *********************************

I could pull scores of stories about all the mosques that have been constructed in the U.S.

        … SINCE 911!

I pray to God the light is shown through to enough rational Americans before we have killed ourselves by having too many god damn muslims in our beloved USA. … (The same way the U.K. killed itself.)

“This is the standard muslim approach to other cultures. They despise whatever was before islam and what they can’t rob they demonize. It’s not unusual to see this kind of despise for native population and culture in muslim conquered areas.

Let me tell you something kid: Greeks, Romans, Persians, Chinese, Egyptians and Hindus had build civilizations far greater than muslims ever did on their own. Muslims only excelled at robbing those civilizations blind and doing a handful of derivative works based on what they robbed“

This book represents twenty years of thought and research on perhaps the greatest Islamic monument in Spain- the Mosque of Cordoba. The unfolding of the mystery of its origin goes back to Atlantis when an era of world civilization made possible the birth of a community called Tartessos in Andalusia. This sophisticated society welcomed the trading Phoenicians in the 12th century BC. Together they designed and built essentially the structure that Islam adapted to their use as a mosque in the 8th century AD. But new evidence gathered by the architect, Marvin Mills, fails to support this contention as we examine the architecture and history of the building and realize that another provenance is indicated. Even the orientation of he mosque is suspect as it fails to orient to Mecca. And Carbon-14 dating indicates a much older attribution. Revelations such as these will make it impossible to continue as usual in the progress of the field of Spanish architecture, Phoenicians in the West, the reality of Atlantis without dealing with this new approach. Insights into the famous Alhambra in Granada and Madina Azahara, the palace-city outside of Cordoba, add to the new perspective by challenging their origins as well.

Just across from the Sofia Hagia is a copy called The Blue Mosque, built by Ottomans. No depictions of people are inside, only magnificent tile work. In the Sofia, there are beautiful frescos of religious saints, the Emperor Justinian, the Virgin Mary, Jesus, etc. Most were damaged terribly in the Ottoman conquest, because depicting people in art is not permissible in Islam. If they make it a mosque again, I fear they will complete the destruction of the rest of the Christian artwork.

Following is ONE of the many eye witness, first hand reports available on the rape of the city, by the Muslim filth.

“Monasteries and convents were broken in and their tenants killed, nuns were raped. The killing, raping, looting and burning went on and on. Pillaging and killing went on for hours.
Soldiers ( the Muslim rapists) fought each other for the children”

“Constantinople was taken by the Ottomans on 29 May 1453. In accordance with the custom at the time Sultan Mehmet II limited his troops three days of unbridled pillage once the city fell, after which he would claim its contents himself. Hagia Sophia was not exempted from the pillage, becoming its focal point as the invaders believed it to contain the greatest treasures of the city. Shortly after the city’s defenses collapsed, pillagers made their way to the Hagia Sophia and battered down its doors. Throughout the siege worshipers participated in the Holy Liturgy and Prayer of the Hours at the Hagia Sophia, and the church formed a refuge for many of those who were unable to contribute to the city’s defense, such as women, children and elderly. Trapped in the church, congregants and refugees became spoils to be divided amongst the Ottoman invaders. The building was desecrated and looted, and occupants enslaved, violated or slaughtered; while elderly and infirm were killed, women and girls were raped and the remainder chained and sold into slavery. Priests continued to perform Christian rites until stopped by the invaders. When the Sultan and his cohort entered the church he insisted it should be at once transformed into a mosque. One of the Ulama then climbed the pulpit and recited the Shahada.”

Of course it is a double standard. I try to point it out to the students who support the frequent petitions by the MSA for “divestment” in Israel. Egypt was once entirely, 100% Coptic – Turkey was Greek, Armenian and Assyriac. Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, etc all were Christian. They didn’t choose to convert, or loose their native languages, they were invaded. Afghanistan used to be a land of properous Buddhist and Hindu kingdoms. And it was not just some accident of ancient history or attitudes that changed all of these countries – it was the same ideology as modern Islam, and it is *still* doing it. Egypt has had an exodus of Copts in the past 2 years, Lebanon has gone from a majority Christian country to a minority in my life time, Iraq has gone from over 10% Christian to less than 1% in just ten years. If anything, the pace of forceful Islamization is quicker now than perhaps it has ever been.

If that were true then how can all these nation states have emerged from the breakup of the Ottoman Empire across Europe and Asia each having preserved their identity, culture, language and faith after up to 6 centuries of Muslim rule. I think your efforts at exposing historical injustices would be better spent in examining, for example, the cruelty and economic exploitation inflicted on the populations of South America and elsewhere by the Spanish and Portugese Empires blessed by the Pope…all in the name of Christendom and then to compare that with the “Millet system” used to govern all peoples living in the lands ruled by Muslims.

Turkey’s PM Erdoğan planning prayers with Islamic leaders in Hagia Sophia
    ……………………………….

This should not surprise. Attatürk turned Hagia Sophia into a museum in hopes of at least partially curbing Islam in Turkey. He knew Turkey could never really modernize under its grip.

But now Erdogan is dismantling Kemalist secularism; he has been, in fact, for the past ten years—and Hagia Sofia is one of the biggest symbols.

And how did Hagia Sofia become a Mosque in the first place? When the Muslim hordes breeched Constantinople’s defenses in 1453, women, children, the elderly, clergy, and others too weak to aid in the defense of the city took sanctuary in Hagia Sofia, then Christendom’s greatest cathedral.

The barbarian invaders battered down the doors and began slaughtering priests, old people, and the crippled. They raped many of the women, including nuns.

The survivors were divvied up among the Jihadists, then separated out and ranked according to what they were likely to bring in the slave markets.

The literal-minded Mohammedans then started tearing the cathedral apart, since they had heard that it was one of Christendom’s greatest treasures—they assumed that this meant there was a lot of gold hidden there.

The Sultan Mehmet II and his cohort understood the true treasure of the cathedral, though—when he arrived, he stopped the destruction and had a member of the Ulama mount the pulpit and recite the Shehada, turning the great Cathedral into a Mosque.

The first Friday prayers were held there in June, to gloat over the destruction of Byzantium’s greatest city, and the final fall of Eastern Christendom. The Muslim hordes had been battering the Byzantine Empire for *over 800 years* before they finally completely prevailed.

*That* is what Hagia Sofia as a Mosque celebrates.

Later, the Cathedral’s glorious mosaics were plastered over, because Mohammedans cannot abide depictions of either the human figure or the image of Christ and the Saints.

They added triumphal Minarets a couple of decades later, and mounted the Islamic crescent in place of the cross on the dome.

By the 19th century, the Muslim world had become so backward that no Muslim could maintain the beautiful building.

In the mid-19th century, a pair of Swiss-Italian Infidel architects renovated the crumbling structure.

With virtually no subsequent maintenance from Mohammedans, the building was again in trouble a century later and placed on the endangered World Monuments Watch in 1986.

American Express and other benefactors donated to the cause, and Infidels finished the renovation work by 2006.

One of the first things the Turks did after this most recent renovation—funded entirely by benevolent Infidels—was open a Muslim “prayer room” and, and last year they started using the Minarets again to call to Muslim prayer—even though this was supposed to be a non-sectarian museum.

And now they want to finish the job and turn Hagia Sofia back into a supremacist Mosque. Who in this climate of Islamization will say them nay?

I do think that it would be a mistake to allow worship in the Hagia Sophia. There are very good reasons to leave it as a museum.
