Another day, another jihad attack for Boko Haram, the real name of which is the Party of the People of the Sunnah for Dawah and Jihad. Sunnah is Islamic tradition and accepted practice. Dawah is Islamic proselytizing. Thus this group states its motives and goals squarely in terms of Islam. Yet to examine and oppose those motives and goals, and to call upon Muslims who profess to be “moderate” to work to check the impulses in their communities that lead to the creation of such groups, would be “Islamophobic.” Such is the insanity of today’s public discourse, which itself is one of the reasons why jihad groups flourish today.
