Yet gay advocates in the U.S. such as Theresa Sparks and Chris Stedman attacked Pamela Geller and me for calling attention to the institutionalized mistreatment of gays under Islamic law. Their gay advocacy doesn’t extend to standing up to Sharia oppression of gays, even though that oppression is far more virulent and violent than anything from “right-wing extremists” in the U.S. And you can’t blame them: given the Leftist/jihadist alliance, it’s clear that if they spoke out against Sharia mistreatment of gays, they would no longer be invited to the best parties, and might even be branded as “right-wing.” Their moral cowardice and duplicity, however, are obvious.
“Brunei: ‘Stone the gays’ law to be phased in from tomorrow,” Pink News, April 30, 2014 (thanks to The Religion of Peace):
The Sultan of Brunei has confirmed that a law calling for homosexuals to be stoned to death will be phased in from tomorrow.
It was condemned by the UN, and a host of celebrities including Stephen Fry, Ellen DeGeneres and Sharon Osbourne, who targeted the Brunei-owned Dorchester Collection for boycotts.
Despite the delays, the Sultan today confirmed the law, which will apply to both Muslims and non-Muslims, will be phased in over a two-year period from tomorrow.
He said: “Today, I place my faith in and am grateful to Allah the almighty to announce that tomorrow, Thursday 1 May 2014, will see the enforcement of Sharia law phase one, to be followed by the other phases.”
According to the Brunei Times, the first phase of the sweeping law will increase fines and prison sentences for various crimes.
Phase two, which restores corporal punishment including amputations for thieves, will come into effect within 12 months, and phase three, which introduces the death penalty, will come into effect within 24 months.
Under the law, the death penalty can be applied for rape, adultery, sodomy, extramarital sexual relations for Muslims, insulting any verses of the Quran and Hadith, blasphemy, declaring oneself a prophet or non-Muslim, and murder.
UN Spokesman Rupert Colville said: “Application of the death penalty for such a broad range of offenses contravenes international law.”
“Under international law, stoning people to death constitutes torture or other cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment and is thus clearly prohibited.”
Watch it, Colville. You’re veering perilously toward “Islamophobia.”

It could be, that they (not all) secretly enjoy the misery brought on by those laws for the depth of the hatred that runs within them….even to the point of it putting themselves in danger. That’s what I think.

That’s pretty absurd and sick. More likely that people in the US don’t really know much about Islam and Sharia and are more occupied with hatred from local sources. But this story is getting more attention so perhaps more gay people are waking up to Islam and not liking how it smells.

you got that one. dont ever underestimate the sickness of gay militants……

I wonder if people will take note that the implementation of Halal, sharia courts, & prosecution of those who insult religious sensitivities like “tearing pages from the Quran” indeed are implementing the same set of laws on our soil, as “stoning gays”, but one piece at a time. These laws are all from the same Islamic playbook, aka Hadith and Quran. In that regard Halal, is just a stepping “stone” as it were. They should all be resisted, refuted and source cited with equal vigor.
Thank you Robert, you really are one of the greatest & bravest humanists of this age, who treads where others dare not on a daily basis.

Gays in the West don’t often speak out against Islamic oppression of and violence against homosexuals for just the same reason that few feminists speak out against Islamic oppression of and violence against women—it is not considered “politically correct” to do so.
Then you have to factor in ignorance—many Westerners—certainly not just Gay people—simply cannot bring themselves to believe that Islam is as utterly savage as it is.
You find this willful ignorance all through the West—it is hardly unique to Gays.

Islam always struck me as a religion that is very homosexual as they pray to the phallis symbol black rock in Mecca, and the way they bend over to pray seems to invite other men to mount them. The contempt Muslim men have for women for women suggests that Muslim men are not attracted to women, and see other men as their true objects of sexual lust- so its odd they are openly venemous of gays. if Muslims were honest, they would admit that most Muslims men would rather have sex with men than with women
Salah says
“Islam always struck me as a religion that is very homosexual…”
You’re right, Muhammad’s behaviour with his male friends and his habit of wearing women’s clothing are but a few signs of his homosexual tendencies.

Despite the clueless comment cited by Joeb, I’m glad to see that Pink News is covering this story so extensively, SKevin.
The San Francisco-area Bay Area Reporter—also a Gay paper—covers the story here:
http://www.ebar.com/news/article.php?sec=news&article=69668
The segment specifically about Brunei is about half-way down.
And more than just covering the story, they are *taking action*. The Sultan of Brunei owns the famous Beverly Hills Hotel and the Hotel Bel-Air in southern California, as well as properties in Europe, and activists are calling for a boycott.
The coverage is surprisingly savvy and un-pc:
“LGBT community members have taken Hassanal Bolkiah, the sultan of Brunei, to task with a swift boycott and protest at the Beverly Hills Hotel after he planned to implement the Sharia penal code that called for stoning gays to death.
“The Sharia penal code, a moral code, decreed stoning homosexuals to death along with adulterers, rapists and people who declare themselves non-Muslim.”
And—I hadn’t known this—US Gays have been protesting this for some months, since draconian prison terms for homosexuality went into effect there.
Even better news—likely due to the protest and boycott, Brunei has postponed putting the stoning law for homosexuality into effect.
Of course, this story is *hardly* over yet. But I am *very* pleased to see at least some members of the Gay community wake up to the threat of Shari’ah. Check it out.

P.S. After staring at the panel of men and women in this photo, and regarding the subject matter of the report, I am reconsidering my opinion of Islam as primarily an ideology of misogeny; I accuse the Islam ideology of misomasculus.
Misomasculus – hatred of men [Gr. from misien, to hate and L. masculus, Gr. meirax, male]

This should get all the LGBT…XYZ gays out in the streets demanding isolation and blockade of Brunei, UN motions of censure, and demonstrators out side the embassies across the West. It *is* being discussed *extensively* in PinkNews – or didn’t you notice the string of articles posted above by “skevin” who is a jihadwatch regular of long standing and is “gay”?
I bet our newer poster, “gay warrior” (whose moniker I greatly enjoy, because it invokes much more besides the current restricted sense of “gay”) is also spreading this story far and wide amongst his acquaintance.
From one of those articles, it appears that the famous and famously-lesbian “ellen” is weighing in to support calls for a celebrity boycott of the hotel chain owned by the Sultan of Brunei.
And to be blunt – given that a significant proportion of the “gay” community is in the entertainment industry, folks who make use of fancy hotels and have plenty of “straight” friends and business contacts who do the same – this could at least embarrass Brunei a bit, and embarrass those who do business with them.
NEXT, extend to those who do business with and/ or are owned by *all the other* vile mohammedan entities that have similar cruel laws on their books.
Time to boycott everything owned by the Abominable House of Saud…One might have to buy petrol, but one doesn’t have to stay at a hotel they own, or shop at a store that they own.
Let’s get up a BDS campaign **against the Ummah, and specifically against all Muslim-dominated lands within the OIC**: for, unlike the disgusting Muslim-organised BDS campaign against Israel, such a campaign would make all kinds of sense – economic, moral and political.

I must say, I am surprised at the lack of ‘interest’ shown by the gay community in the depredations of islam with respect to themselves. Why is that? A very close gay friend of my wife, whose mother is from Brunei, simply shrugged his shoulders when I raised the subject with him and said “well, what can you do? It’s up to them, isn’t it?”. Indeed it is. He just wasn’t interested.

DDA, it’s great to hear this about Ellen DeGeneres.
Apparently Sharon Osbourne has joined as well—and this is significant, because Osbourne is not gay herself. Other protesters have included actresses Beth Grant and Rain Phoenix.
This, from the famous Hollywood Reporter:
“Who in Hollywood Will Boycott the Beverly Hills Hotel?”
http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/who-hollywood-will-boycott-beverly-699963
One of the biggest Oscar events has been held at this iconic hotel for years now—but perhaps no longer.
This also points out just how much of the West oil-rich Mohammedans have bought up.
Anyway, I find these protests and boycotts *very* heartening—especially because gays and Hollywood people have been especially mired in denial over the threat of Islam.
It would be too much to think we have turned some sort of corner here—but still, acknowledgment of Shari’ah on this scale is a very positive development.

The problem is that it doesn’t. My idiot sister, who is a journalist for the Socialist Workers Party in the UK, accused me of islamaphobia because I highlighted the fact that, where I live in Java, Indonesia, 300 churches or so have been closed down or burnt to the ground.
What I don’t understand is how intelligent, socialist women refuse to denounce islam for the disgusting, filthy religion that it is. And yet I, as a Christian, who believes in the pure love of God, knowing that when I die I will be embraced in the warm love of our Saviour, is seen by these same left wing liberals as a cause for all the ills in the world.

I have no wish to be gratuitously rude, but if your sister is a member of the Socialist Workers Party, she is not intelligent, but a brainwashed fanatic in thrall to Marxism.

The rights of Muslims as defined by sharia law come before western rights, because western rights are man made laws. And Muslims are perceived as brown people who whitey has oppressed.
And sharia law has many different interpretations. Western gays refuse to look at application of Islam like in Brunei.
