This contradicts the mainstream, Marxist view that Muslims turn to follow the Qur’an because of poverty and society’s lack of ability to integrate them. Jihad has nothing to do with socioeconomic factors; it has to do with Islam. Via 10news.dk, translated from Uriasposten by Nicolai Sennels:
Researcher in Islamism Marco Goli from Metropolitan University College in Copenhagen concludes that radicalized young Muslims are often what one would consider well-integrated: They are better educated than average and also perform better economically and socially, and will therefore be largely able to maintain a double life.
“In relation to the parameters that we normally measure integration, they are in great shape,” says Marco Goli, who in 2010 co-authored a major study of Islamism from the Centre for Studies in Islamism and Radicalisation at Aarhus University, Denmark. …”

Of course they’re better off. Osama bin-Laden, one of the five most popular figures among Moslems on the day of his execution, was from a family so fabulously wealthy that he got to go to Harvard.
They’re stupid enough to believe in the belief system; they’re smart enough to know that, because they believe in it, it is their clear and obvious duty to do what the Holy Ko-Ran and Hah-Deaths say.
john spielman says
they also STEAL from nonmuslims (ie lay false”blasphemy” charges to get someone else land or business)

14 of the 19 9/11 Jihadis were citizens of Saudi Arabia, an oil-rich wealthy country that abundantly pampers it citizens with petrodollars.

The ‘GRIEVANCE THEORY’ (…that socio-political grievances are the REAL cause of radicalism) is TOTAL BUNK.
The ‘grievance’ of the Koran is that people who dismiss Mohammed as a false prophet and charlatan should be murdered or crucified or ethnically cleansed.
The Koranic ‘grievance’ is based on obscurantism, the system of removing or ignoring facts that disprove the ‘grievance’.

Actually, the word from Allah was that he is furiously angry at how the Jews and Christians botched his commands, so he re-commanded in the Holy Ko-Ran to clear things up. At its root, Islam is a corrective belief system.
boakai ngombu says
in reflecting, not so corrective, i.e. Shekau of Boko Haram fame: proves the words of Unique God to Eve “… and he shall rule over you….” (Genesis 3:16d, ESV).
Shekau will never integrate to another culture and neither will he assimilate, which is the problem for other cultures.

Will somebody please send this article to Obama, Biden and all members of Obama’s cabinet? Obama and most Democrats say that Islam is a religion of peace and that Muslims who engage in terrorism are created by poverty and jealousy of the rich Western nations. Of course, this is not true.
The terrorists and jihadists are motivated by a devotion to Islam and a hatred of the West. Islam was created to be a Religion of War by the Warlord Muhammad, who personally led battles against the infidels and who personally chopped off hundreds of heads of his captives.

Muslims are very well connected and very computer savvy. No one is addicted to modern conveniences and gadgets more than they are. And they have a strange and peculiar love for houses that have more bathrooms than are needed. People brought up in a savage religion will naturally be mesmerized by civilization. Muslims can’t resist the pull toward technology and do not have the will to resist the sins they are tempted to though it. That is one reason why so many of them recoil to become radicalized.
Jaladhi says
There is nothing like a “radicalized Muslim”. This is a very deceptive term. The fact is all Muslims are the same. So long as they do not carry out a terrorist act, they rare “peaceful” Muslims and if they do, the media suddenly starts crying out what made them “radicalized”. The West is total moron and always finds ways not to look for the real reason for the Muslims behavior all over the world. As long as Muslims follow Quran, they will always remain”radicalized”, no doubt about it! Do not differentiate between Muslims with coined terms like “radicalized” – they are all one and same.
Bikinis not Burkas says
I have been trying to tell this fact to the media in Australia but they are too P.C. to listen or learn the truth!
Shane says
Yes, I don’t like the term “radicalized” or “extremist” to describe Muslims who support jihad and terrorism. To me, these guys are “militants” and should be described as “militant Muslims.” Those Muslims who engage in jihad are devout Muslims who are following in the footsteps of the Warlord Muhammad.

Silly old Bob Geldof, who one would have thought would be busy mourning and begging God to take care of those souls he is directly responsible for, on Channel 4 News giving the same crap that Islamic atrocities are down to poverty. Sad and pathetic. I myself have prayed quite a lot for his daughters soul to be safe from the Evil One.

Anyone who has done a course on terrorism studies will know that terrorists are neither poor or oppressed. They tend to come from educated groups with no links to poverty or despair as John Kerry imagines. They are motivated by ideology – not social injustices. Terrorist leaders tend to be extremely wealthy (how else can they afford all their machinery and weapons?).

Their social “performance” doesn’t concern me at all.
Their attitudes and understanding of the West, and who has the right to power in it by way of history, are much more important.
They claim integration.
Do they understand the differences between democracy and the tyranny of the majority?
Do they understand it well enough to be able to write about it using Western sources from the Ancient, Late Antique, Medieval, Early Modern and Enlightenment? I doubt it. Only this level of comprehension would begin to satisfy me.
But even if they had it, the drug of arrogance and conquest is a hard one to kick.
BlueRaven says
Sure, the educated Muslims are more radicalized, because they can understand beyond the second page of the Cow-Ranic dictates a lot better than the less fortunates.
