It’s noteworthy that the al-Jazeera host, Faysal Al-Qassem, repeatedly blames the pro-Maliki spokesman, Abu Firas Al-Hamadani, of starting the fight, when clearly the foe of Maliki, Najeh Al-Mizan, is the one who did so. Al-Jazeera, after all, is a Sunni channel. In any case, Najeh Al-Mizan’s words here demonstrate the disgust that Iraqi Sunnis have for the United States after it toppled Saddam Hussein to install in Baghdad a weak Shi’ite client state of Iran, and how determined they are to topple the Maliki regime.
“Fight Breaks Out Live during TV Debate on ISIS,” MEMRI, June 17, 2014:
A debate on Al-Jazeera TV on the ISIS takeover of Mosul turned ugly on June 17, 2014, with political activist Najeh Al-Mizan throwing a pen at journalist Abu Firas Al-Hamadani and beating him with his mobile phone. The debate continued with Al-Mizan alone, after Al-Hamadani left the studio, and TV host Faysal Al-Qassem, pointing to drops of blood on the table, accused Al-Hamadani of having an hysterical fit and attacking his adversary.
Following are excerpts:
Iraqi journalist Abu Firas Al-Hamadani: The issue goes beyond Al-Maliki. There are many reservations about Al-Maliki all over Iraq, but there is a legitimate democratic process sin Iraq, acknowledged by the whole world: by the EU, the U.S. and the U.N.
[…]
Both guests shout at one another, while TV host Faysal Al-Qassem
Iraqi political activist Najeh Al-Mizan: Al-Maliki and all those lowlifes are collaborators with Iran.
Abu Firas Al-Hamadani: Al-Maliki is an elected leader…
Najeh Al-Mizan: Anyone who calls Al-Maliki a leader can go to hell…
Al-Mizan throws a pen at Al-Hamadani, and then, after the latter gets up to retaliate, beats him with his mobile phone, as a studio hand tries to separate the two
[…]
Only Al-Mizan remains in the studio, along with host Al-Qassem
Najeh Al-Mizan: Today, the people has risen. It is an all-encompassing popular tsunami. Al-Maliki and these people betray Iraq, with their baseness. The revolution will obviously come to an end…
TV host Faysal al-Qassem: Let me explain that we had with us Mr. Abu Firas Al-Hamadani, who had an hysterical fit and tried to attack Najeh Al-Mizan. He left the studio, bleeding. People should know what it was about. You can see the blood there.
Najeh Al-Mizan: Why did he leave of his own accord? We should have driven him out with our shoes. He shouldn’t just bleed. These people should not be allowed to live. This is the kind of people who have turned Iraq into a laughing-stock. The whole world is laughing at us because of people like that.
[…]
Faysal al-Qassem: Aren’t you afraid of the American position? The Americans say that Iraq is facing a terrorist organization. They are preparing to support Al-Maliki. We should take this into consideration. We cannot simply ignore it.
Najeh Al-Mizan: [Sunni] forces that were weaker than the forces fighting today… I’m talking about the popular revolution, about the tribal and the noble rebels… These are the same people who made [the Americans] board their ships and leave. They cannot do a thing. Noble Iraqis view the Americans as less than worthless. They cannot save themselves, let alone save Al-Maliki. Al-Maliki will be toppled, and no one will shed a tear. He and all that scum will end up in the garbage bin of history.
[…]
Faysal al-Qassem: I would like to thank our two guests – Mr. Abu Firas Al-Hamadani, who was here, to my right, but then attacked the other guest, and, unfortunately, left the studio. He is the one who started the fight. I would also like to thank Najeh Al-Mizan, one of the spokesmen for the popular movement in Iraq.

I can only wonder at the number of shoes thrown during top-level crisis management sessions at the White House.

That was Jerry Springer, right?
Mr ugly says
Oh please, why does anyone support these incredibly intolerant people?

Thanks to OBAMA THE COWARD we are now WEAK AND WORTHLESS!!!

I find the use of the word “noble” entertaining.
There is nothing noble, honorable or even respectable in Islam.
Jaladhi says
Yeah, the “noble” Iraqis would much prefer being murdered by the likes of Sadam Hussein, now ISIS, rather being save by “less than worthless Americans”. Nobody can measure the height of Muslim stupidity!!

Kind of like when the orientals fight in politics. But take a lesson from this. Unlike so many of us in the West, these middle-easterners really believe in what they believe.

There’s a great post on the best strategy to beat ISIS.

The U.S. stepped into a deep pile of garbage when in entered into Iraq and still retains the stench on the soles of its boots. A thorough cleansing of the filth infecting Iraq, both Sunni and Shiite, needs to occur while America takes the time to wash and disinfect its feet and put on a new set of boots. Over 4,400 American lives lost, many more thousands wounded and maimed and billions of dollars wasted so that scum may thrive and flourish! To top it off now America is considered by Iraqis to be less than worthless? This makes me sick to my stomach. Hell awaits them all and I will not shed a tear!!!
Jaladhi says
These are the Iraqis whose rear we saved!! Muslims are never ever grateful to kaffirs no matter how much you help them. Muslims just don’t any human values – gratefulness being one of the. Yet kaffirs never learn!!
Just leave Muslims alone to their own fate and those Muslims who want sharia here should be sent to those Islamic paradises, there are 57 of them. Boy, would they be there wallowing shariascum!1

Can anyone *imagine* such a scene taking place during a televised debate in the *civilised West* ? Good God.
mohammedans expose themselves for what they are, wherever they are, and under whatever circumstances they are in.
gravenimage says
Very true, Mirren. Sometimes people complain about pundits in the West heatedly yelling while arguing on news shows—but I can never recall—needless to say—any of them *beating each other bloody*.
Good God—what barbarians.

This is the ” divinely ordained “style of debating as ” revealed ” in the koran.
When you cannot convince with your words , beat the opponents brains out.

I love the bit where he says: “The world is laughing at us”. Yup. Sure is.

I don’t get why the West is getting all panicky. As we keep saying, there are no “good guys” here. Just let them kill each other, then move in when the dust settles…..

Americans less than worthless? Thanks for uplifting our image around the world, Obama!

But isn’t Al Jazeera a friend of Gore?/ (After all they paid –well–over paid–for his television station).
And, (I was told, no first hand knowledge) that it is ‘ the preferred ” source for “unbiased” news on some college campuses.
I guess, perhaps it is-in a tie with say the New York times.
but, I don’t know.

What ungrateful backstuds these people are the US has poured billions into Irak not to mention the young American lives lost there. The US economy would be in much better shape if they had not given so much cash to the Iraqis.
