He also says, “By Allah, we embarked on our Jihad only to support the religion of Allah.” Only. And yet U.S. analysts will tell you that he is fighting because of his poverty and ignorance (even though ISIS chief Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi has a doctorate in Islamic studies), and that he doesn’t understand the religion for which he professes to be fighting, and that whatever state he may found will not be based on the Qur’an and Sunnah, his intentions notwithstanding.
This superficial and fantasy-based analysis stops there, with no attempt to go farther and determine how this supposed misunderstanding of Islam came to be so widespread, and what can be done about it other than countering the alleged “root causes” of “radicalization,” i.e. by throwing money at the problem.
“Crowd Gathers to Show Support of ISIS Takeover of Mosul,” MEMRI, June 12, 2014:
A video posted on the Internet on June 12, 2014, showed a large crowd of Iraqis cheering in support of ISIS, as one of the organization’s leaders was delivering a speech. The ISIS leader ended his comments with a round of bullets to the cheers of the crowd.
Masked ISIS commander, waving a rifle: By Allah, we embarked on our Jihad only to support the religion of Allah.
Crowd (capturing the events on video with their smartphones): Allah Akbar.
ISIS commander: We have defeated the Americans and their allies…
Crowd: Allah Akbar.
ISIS commander: Allah willing, we will establish a state ruled by the Quran and the Sunna.
Crowd: Allah Akbar.
ISIS commander: All of you honorable Muslims are the soldiers of the Muslim State.
Crowd: Allah Akbar.
[…]
ISIS commander: Allah willing, you are Muslims. The Islamic State is as strong as the lions I see before me.
Crowd: Allah Akbar.
ISIS commander: …the shari’a of Allah, the Quran, and the Sunna. …Muslims in Baghdad…
Crowd: Allah Akbar.
ISIS commander: …Samaraa and Tikrit…
Crowd: Allah Akbar.

What really scares me when I see videos like this, is the fact that some of those cheering and crying allah uahkbar, will be future immigrants to my beloved Canada.

They are already inside the gates — how’s that little mosque doing out there on the prairie?

Chances are, when the thugs moved in, anybody who was seen NOT to cheer was probably carried away or shot on the spot. Does this sound familiar?

There were no people booing Hitler either. he very cunningly abolished all other parties when he gained the power, just as the Islamists will abolish
political parties and elections. they do not bother even sending their opponents to camps, they just kill them on sight.

Mosul Iraq — Match Historical Pictures to Today’s Headlines
Jihadi forces overran Mosul, Iraq’s second largest city, this week. Analysts explain Mosul’s significance as the center of Iraq’s oil-rich areas, the gateway for the Sunni radicals to attack Baghdad, and a debacle for the U.S.-supported Iraqi army.
But Mosul also has an ancient history. It was the Biblical city of Nineveh, so large that the Book of Jonah describes it as a “great city of three days journey in breadth.”

We present pictures of Mosul 80 years ago and of Jews of Mosul approximately 100 years ago.

Read here a 2007 account of a Jewish chaplain from the US Army’s 101st Airborne who discovered the remnants of Mosul’s Jewish community.

You mean jihad is more than inner spiritual struggle, having a gym membership and getting the kids to school on time? I bet this is going to anger Ibrahim Hooper, because it makes him look like a hypocrite, and poor Reza, how is he going to square it with his fawning fans? Nathan Lean, of course will try and blame Spencer/Geller for what is going on in Iraq.

Liberals and progressives aren’t bothering to say this has nothing to do with Islam anymore. They really just blame Bush and don’t care about the lives of Iraqis at all.
I share Jihad Watch with MSNBC liberals and get hundreds of Comments.

I do this to raise awareness of Jihad and hopefully direct traffic to Jihad Watch.

George W. Bush is greatly at fault for putting his political ambitions ahead of common sense, as I’m sure he heard all about the Sunni-Shiite history from experts. I also assume that he was ignorant (willfully or not) of the founding fathers’ points about what a people need to do and be in order to qualify for a viable democracy.

PREDICTING A CATASTROPHE
Barack Obama opposed the Bush/Patraeus surge in Iraq which succeeded in defeating al Qaida and brought a measure stability, order and peace to that country. Then claiming that the surge’s gains were his achievement Obama announces mission accomplished and withdraws US forces from Iraq predicting a bright and prosperous future for that country . Now that Obama once again is proven wrong and al-Qaida (which was “decimated”) is reducing Iraq into chaos it’s everybody’s fault but his own.
Truth is Barack Obama’s feckless leadership, and the universal perception of America’s economic, military and geostrategic decline and retreat from the world, has become al-Qaida’s NUMBER ONE RECRUITMENT TOOL, and is a huge factor in its astonishing Obama era success.
And yet the Great Blunderer still claims that its Gitmo that’s al-Qaider’s NUMBER ONE RECRUITMENT TOOL. This is insane. But understandable for a man with a serious reality problem who told the cadets at West Point: “We must see the world as it should be.”No President can govern effectively who can’t see the world as it is
Now that Iraq is in chaos does Hillary Clinton have a realistic chance of being President?

Mr. Obama has done far more for our archenemies’ interests than for our own, then blames everyone but himself, while he makes a fast track to the exit doors. Always mouthing empty mantras about “reform” and other claptrap.

I read that along with banning drugs and alcohol, they are also banning cigarettes. I always understood that smoking is discouraged in Islam, but it’s not “haram”(strictly forbidden, like alcohol and pork). Cigarettes are forbidden to practising Mormons, however (also, Mormons aren’t allowed to drink alcohol, but they can eat pork).

That old fool Jimmy Carter started the Middle Eastern demise of sanity when he de facto deposed the Shah Of Iran, convincing him to leave “temporarily” and then transporting Komeini from exile in Paris. George W.Bush invaded Iraq and allowed the gruesome hanging of Saddam Hussein, who, although a ruthless dictator himself, did manage a semblance of order and suppressed Islam’s native barbarism. By denying the very nature of Islam and by refusing to understand it is incompatible with civilization, we have sown the wind and are reaping the whirlwind. No one is safe now that the devil is loose and on the move.
We have brought it on ourselves.

Yes.
He would have done better, making a speech the day after the September 11 jihad raid upon the US home territory, to have quoted Winston Churchill, from “The Story Of the Malakand Field Force”: the passage where Churchill flat-out calls Islam “the religion of blood and war”.

The USA made a huge mistake allowing Iraq Constitution Articles 2, 3, and 92 which establishes state religion above the law. The USA violated the 1st amendment of the US Constitution by funding building nations constitutions that establishe religion. Same for the constitution of Afghanistan Articles 1, 2, 3, 35, 45, 54, 63, 74, 118, 149.

Japan’s Constitution has served much better than the Constitution of Iraq.
“Prime Minister Shidehara has suggested to MacArthur that the new Constitution should contain an article renouncing war.
Much of the drafting was done by two senior army officers with law degrees: Milo Rowell and Courtney Whitney, although others chosen by MacArthur had a large say in the document. The articles about equality between men and women are reported to have been written by Beate Sirota.[3][4]”
