This helps explain why Boko Haram has been able to operate with impunity, and the Nigerian government has appeared to be unable or unwilling to stop it. If Muslims at high levels of the government sympathize with the group, they may have been able to stymie attempts to stop it. “Report: 10 generals guilty of arming Boko Haram,” by Michelle Faul, Associated Press, June 3, 2014:
KADUNA, Nigeria (AP) — Ten generals and five other senior military officers were found guilty in courts-martial of providing arms and information to Boko Haram extremists, a leading Nigerian newspaper reported Tuesday.
The news follows months of allegations from politicians and soldiers who have told The Associated Press that some senior officers were helping the Islamic extremists and that some rank-and-file soldiers even fight alongside the insurgents and then return to army camps. They have said that information provided by army officers has helped insurgents in ambushing military convoys and in attacks on army barracks and outposts in their northeastern stronghold.
Leadership newspaper quoted one officer saying that four other officers, in addition to the 15, were found guilty of “being disloyal and for working for the members of the sect.”
Defense Ministry spokesman Maj. Gen. Chris Olukolade did not immediately respond to requests for comment on Tuesday. Last week, he denied that senior military officers were being investigated for helping Boko Haram and sabotaging a year-old offensive to curb the 5-year-old uprising that has killed thousands….
Leadership newspaper on Tuesday quoted military officers saying the 15 found guilty of providing arms to Boko Haram are among many more being tried at divisional level. The verdicts are being referred to defense headquarters in Abuja, the capital, where the fate of the officers will be decided, the newspaper said. The officers it quoted spoke on condition of anonymity because they are not allowed to give information to reporters.President Goodluck Jonathan said last year that he believed that some members of the military and even of his own government, including some Cabinet ministers, sympathized with Boko Haram or belonged to the group. The military campaign is backed by a state of emergency in the northeast but it has failed to curb attacks, which actually have increased this year. Jonathan in January fired his entire military command and weeks later replaced the defense minister.
His government and military have been harshly criticized for lack of action that has led to the schoolgirls’ prolonged captivity. Defense chief Air Marshal Alex Badeh said last week the military knows where they are being held but fears to use force as it could get the girls killed. Jonathan is under increasing pressure to make a deal with the insurgents, who are demanding he free detained fighters in return for the girls.

Of course. They are violent extremists, following their violent penchant for extremism – all entirely in the abstract. Those quotations from the Koran, and references to Allah, well, they are just private devotion. The problem is violent extremism.

As I said on the previous thread, the Nigerian government is *riddled* with these pernicious scum.
Makes you wonder, doesn’t it, how many of the governments of the West, are similarly compromised.
It explains the reluctance of the West to deal with the encroachements of the stealth jihadists, and the *overt* jihadists.

You remarked – “Makes you wonder, doesn’t it, how many of the governments of the West, are similarly compromised.”
Yes.
The Ummah or Mohammedan Mob uses much the same methods as the Mafia (indeed, the Mafia may in fact have got its ideas from the older Mob, since it – the Mafia – arose in parts of Italy that had endured mohammedan rule).
Corruption (and ever since 1973 the Muslim oil states have been simply *rolling* in money with which to bribe politicians, academics, businessmen, financiers…). Extortion. And, I would bet on it, *blackmail* of various kinds. And threats both overt and covert, which have become ever more effective as the size of the mohammedan Fifth Column within assorted western countries has grown, and grown, and grown. And that Fifth Column – which (or large chunks of which) votes “en bloc” – can be dangled in front of Infidel politicians of *all* parties, as another kind of bait, or bribe.

We need to educate the Muslims according to the New Testament teaching of Jesus Christ. Jesus taught about love, forgiveness and tolerance. All Muslims need to learn the Holy Gospel of salvation: repent, be converted, be baptized and receive the Holy Ghost. Jesus of Nazareth is the Prince of Peace.

Nigeria: 10 generals guilty of arming Islamic jihadists of Boko Haram
…………………………..
Well, this surprises me not one whit. I have always wondered if Muslims in the Nigerian military and police were not-so-secretly winking at or even aiding Boko Haram.
For pious Muslims, the directive to impose Shari’ah trumps everything, including national loyalties and common decency.

The trial of these Boko haram generals in the Nigerian Army is even belated. this ia a clear evidence of President Jonathan’s legendary unwillingness to deal with the Boko Haram menace.
I have always believed that the ineffectiveness of the Nigerian Military to deal with Boko Haram terrorists is a direct result of the fact that the group has a lot of its members parading themselves as Nigerian Soldiers and Policemen! Otherwise, how does one explain the fact that these terrorists move unchallenged in a large convoy of vehicles on Nigerian roads that are characterized by several check points supposedly manned by armed soldiers/policemen? Or how did the terrorists kidnap an entire female population of a school and moved them in lorries over hundreds of kilometers on Nigerian soil without any group of our security men challenging them?
It is now clear that the Terrorists have long infiltrated the security apparatuses and unless they are flushed out, Boko haram will certainly take over the country sooner than later. Drastic measures must be taken urgently to flush out terrorists in the Nigerian armed forces and the police if the war against terror must be won. The President must act with a sense of urgency on this. Enough of this senseless killings of innocent lives in the name of a satanic ideology that pretends to be preaching peace!!
