There is a hint of menace to this morality initiative, for the recipients of the brochure know that if they don’t comply, some Muslims may think that killing them is preferable to the continued affront to their honor that their immoral dress represents.
Re-Islamization of Turkey Update: “Islamists hit beach to advise women to cover up,” Hürriyet Daily News, June 25, 2014 (thanks to Twostellas):
Turkish holiday goers flocked to beaches and resort towns last weekend, as the summer holiday season kicked off. However, in the Black Sea resort of Kaynarca northwest of Istanbul, those who headed to the beach were also joined by a group of traditionally pious Muslims, who flocked to the seaside in order to convince women to cover themselves.
On the sandy beaches of Kaynarca, two men wearing thobes and kufis distributed brochures to beach-goers, offering advice about correct Islamic deportment.
The two men, who were accompanied by a child, said they were members of an Islamic foundation from the ultra-conservative neighborhood of Çarşamba in Istanbul’s Fatih district.
The brochure, titled “The lady that God wants” contained a total of 72 points, including the following instructions: “The lady should be covered; she should not shake hands with male strangers; she should not go outside without asking permission from her husband; she should not go to weddings where there is music; and she should not sit in public areas.”

Turkey is rapidly cutting of its collective muslim nose to spite its face. Western tourism is down and decling further rapidly AND its attempt to join the EU will be looked upon as a malevolent joke

I hightly doubt that foreign torst will leave turkey. First foreign tourst are pretty safe conpare to many other nation like Italy where you face arrest for being than america like Miss Knox. So two men handout leavet on how woman could dress at the breack will end foreign tourist goto to turkey.

Really? I believe there was a historical drop in tourism during the destruction of Smyrna in 1922 and the Istanbul Pogrom riots in 1955, although these two spots had previously been quite popular with Western tourists…
Why would “DefenderofIslam” assume that these pious thugs would stop at handing out threatening brochures?
But of course, it is unlikely that he does…

The idea that this is just a suggestion that ladies dress more modestly at the beach is utter bs—instead, these pious Mohammedans are calling for *out and out Purdah*, where women are not allowed to sit in public areas, listen to music, or even leave her home without the permission of her owner. *Ugh*.
Does “DefenderofIslam” have any problems with this stark oppression of women? I really doubt it…

Amanda Knox was arrested for being suspect of murder, not for being an american. Ignorant dumbass.

‘Brian Hoff’ – English is obviously not your first language, is it?
What is it exactly that you are trying to say?
Maybe you should just write it in Turkish – then we can put it through Google Translate ourselves,.

I DO hope that’s how it will be looked on! and I pray the EU have the sense to reject Turkey. If not the seal is broken for the complete Islamification of the UK as well as the rest of Europe.
With our borders open and free to Turkey we will be placed in the most direct threat possible from our Jihadist enemies. But then I will never expect the elite autocrats forging the future of the proles in anti democratic EU to do anything in the interests of its citizens.

Albania is in the pipeline to become a member of the EU, Turkey is next.

My guess is that Turkey, if it really wanted to, could deliver a one-two knockout punch to make itself pivot of its whole SW-Asia SE-Europe region.
If it came clean about the genocides of the Armenians, Anatolian Greeks, and Assyrians, as their fellow non-Arab Sunni Muslims the northern Iraq Kurds have done and enforce liberties of its remaining minorities, it would probably win the trust of its whole region and be able to use its growing economic clout to become a truly stabilizing force.
Unfortunately, it opts for Erdogan’s mix of neo-Ottomanism and Islamicism.

“ This is a conservative site”
Dumbass. This is a anti-jihadi site and anyone is welcome to post here regardless of being liberal or conservative. However, i suspect smug, self-entitled morons who flip out at the idea of Turkey recognizing the genocides turks carried out in the past like you won’t last long here. Why don’t you slither back to whatever pro-islam forum you crawled out from and save everyone’s time?

Yeah, I’d like to see proof of this amazing claim:
“If it came clean about the genocides of the Armenians, Anatolian Greeks, and Assyrians, as their fellow non-Arab Sunni Muslims the northern Iraq Kurds have done”
Like the backward fanatical Kurds are going to say, “Oh by the way, we committed genocide against the Armenians, Anatolian Greeks, and Assyrians, and we are mortified at the evil of our immediate ancestors (our own kinsmen, great grandparents and even some grandparents)… Oh, and we promise we won’t genocide anyone else if and when we ever climb up out of this hole of sociopolitical weakness we’re in. WE LOVE AMERICA SMILEY FACE HASHTAG!”

No surprises there. The Black Sea area is noted for the piousness of its residents and Fatih is Istanbul’s bearded half-wits central. Locals and embassies alike warn foreigners to avoid it like the plague. Of the few times I was in Fatih (with large groups) I can attest that it’s wall to wall with bearded monkeys and their ninja slaves (the supremacist slaves have a fondness for hissing and spitting at un-slave ragged women).

Great comment! …and as Jan mentioned we’ve missed you ’round here!!! And I know you’re busy working on, I think, your master’s degree (?); so I hope that’s going well for you. Maybe we’ll see more of you here now that summer is here (or do you get any breaks from your studies? lol!)
Take care!

As Hatune Dogan, the Turkish Orthodox nun who fled her homeland to live in Germany, said recently:
“The Turkish people are the most fanatic there is… To others — when they speak — it’s secular, liberal, European rights, but when they act, it’s the most fanatic people on earth.”
She grew up in Turkey, now lives in Germany. She travels widely (she recently toured the Middle East bravely to see with her own eyes the persecution of Christians by Muslims, and recently was part of a conference in Florida raising awareness of the plight of Christians in the Middle East).

thanks for the information about Hatune Dogan, Voegelinian—always wonderful to see Infidels who grew up under Islam oppression who haven’t been permanently crippled by dhimmitude.

Oh what I wouldn’t give to be on that beach handing out fliers to these pious islamic supremacists that poster Davegreybeard offers …yeah but then I’ll need 20 body guards in case sudden-jihad should strike from the so-called “religion of peace”, right? Right!

Note this clause in that repulsive list of sharia-based restrictions – “she should not go to weddings where there is music”.
Classical Islam bans and attempts to suppress nearly all music – sacred and profane, instrumental and vocal. Flutes and strings, in the Hadith, are specifically condemned.
The jihadis in Mali were very clear about it. One jihad gang boss proclaimed “We are in a struggle [I wonder whether, in the original language of which this was a translation, he said “Jihad”? – dda] against **all the musicians of the world**”.
The hostility toward music that is very plainly present in certain of the canonical Islamic texts is one of the key indicators that this is a cult that denies or attacks the core of our humanness. Islam is *antihuman*.

I’ve had some Iranian muslimes tell me that music is not haram. I suppose they could’ve been lying to me — especially after telling me that Assminijihad treated Christians better than anyone in Iran.
Is all music banned in Islam? Don’t they still sing the call to prayer?

The Kemalist secularism of Turkey is at risk unless the Kemalists stand up to defend it. Their lack of organization will spell the loss of Turkey’s remaining democracy and freedom.
