As head of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), İhsanoğlu spearheaded a years-long campaign to intimidate the West into adopting Sharia blasphemy laws and criminalizing criticism of Islam. There is no reason to think that İhsanoğlu doesn’t want a caliphate, as he is clearly a Sharia supremacist; he just doesn’t want a caliphate in Baghdad. He wants one in Istanbul.
“İhsanoğlu: ISIL is a terrorist gang with no links to Islam,” Hürriyet Daily News, July 12, 2014 (thanks to Maxwell):
Presidential candidate Ekmeleddin İhsanoğlu has strongly condemned The Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (ISIL), which has seized parts of Syria and Iraq and has been keeping 49 Turks hostage in Mosul for more than a month.
“ISIL is a ruthless terrorist movement that gives its biggest harm to Islam,” İhsanoğlu told reporters July 12 during his visit to the northwestern province of Bursa, adding that the group’s claims of founding a state in the name of Allah should be categorically denied.
“If you know the military, religious, political, psychological, international parameters of the situation, you can deal with it,” said İhsanoğlu, who is supported by a group of six opposition parties led by the main opposition Republican People’s Party (CHP) and the Nationalist Movement Party (AKP).
“If you decide to support [ISIL] until a certain point and then try to part ways, you will have great trouble. Foreign policy should be performed in a discreet, calm way,” the presidential candidate said in a veiled criticism of the government’s foreign policy.
When asked about the demands to turn Istanbul’s monumental Hagia Sophia into a mosque again, İhsanoğlu avoided giving a direct answer.
“This is a very delicate, historical issue,” he said. “I am aware of the public demands. I’m one of the people who had the chance to pray there when it was opened to service as a mosque in 1980. But I do not know what decision the government will take.”
İhsanoğlu also slammed Israel for its offensive on Gaza, noting that he contributed to the conciliation process between rival Palestine groups during his term as the head of the Organization for Islamic Cooperation (OIC).

In other words, right now he’s more into dominating and eventually defeating other Muslims than kuffaars. But just around this dysfunctional, pathological, control-freak Islamic corner is still a prescription for all kuffaars to act the “right way,” to wit, submission to Islam as a dhimmi, conversion to Islam or death.
Same old same old. Either Muslims are trying to subordinate (or destroy) other Muslims for not being properly Muslim or they’re trying to subordinate (or destroy) dhimmis for not acknowledging the superiority of Islam.
God, what a sick religion Islam is. I mean sick to its very core, starting with its psychopathic, pedophiliac founder.

The Quran was the LAST “holy” book I read, after firstly reading the Bible, Book of Mormon, Bhagavad Gita, some of the Mahabharata, the Tibetan and Egyptian Book(s) of the Dead, Rudolf Steiner’s Anthroposophy, many of Crowley’s A.A. and OTO texts, offshoots of Crowley such as Scientology’s Dianetics, Buddhist Pali canon, various Rajneesh texts including Book of Secrets, various Advaita Vedanta texts, Cathar material from Lectorium Rosicrucianum, Gardner’s witchcraft, Jewish Kabbalah studies such as Sefir Yetzirah and Zohar, the list goes on and on and on over 40 years.
When I turned 55 I finally read the Quran. Instantly I became an atheist. The Quran could NOT have been written by a “higher” being. It is a truly horrible, supremacist, political, vile book. None of the other texts gave me nausea. The Quran did.

Maybe that’s why most Westerners who claim to be nominally Christian won’t read the Koran or any of the other 3 Islamic books around which Islam is based. They actually fear the truth about religion and so don’t want to really know. IGNORANCE IS BLISS FOR MANY. That’s how Islam will prosper in the West.
Jay Boo says
If Muslims really knew the truth about just how disgustingly filthy their ‘religion’ is most of them would abandon Islam out of unremitting shame.
All Muslims throughout the world should step outside in public and apologize to the world and bow their heads in shame at Islam’s long disgrace and of following of such a vile character as Muhammad.

Re: comment from “Jewdog”: If the positive things I’ve read about Kurdish freedom of (and from) religion are true about Kurds in general, even de facto operation of Kurdistan today could help the region where IS and other Muslims in fact seek dominance, including all terrorists İhsanoğlu by his past behavior in fact supports, no matter his lying taqiyyah du jour.

Islam is not a religion
Islam is just an excuse
Oh Yeah!
Oh Yeah!
Now, ain’t that the truth.
Jan Fourowls says
Yes, exactly. Islam is a monolithic evil, the most obviously well-orchestrated evil on the planet at present.
But of course Islam is not the only evil. We need only read reports from everywhere else, and the failings of humanity fallen into sin even where people try to be good. (I’m very far from perfect as well, although I don’t plot genocide or other violence as do terrorists, and try through grace to overcome sin and live morally. I’m sure I’ll have a lot to explain and be embarrassed about on the Lord’s day of judgment — as will most of us — but at least I can trust my salvation into eternity. And I’m doing my best to make up for the past, here and now.)
As relates to the evils of Islam or anything else, the word “sin” has been given a bad name by hypocrisy and corruption among church leaders (itself sin) and so we don’t talk about its corollaries. It is not popular among postmodernists to broach this topic, but I cannot imagine mere human sin being capable of today’s horrific anti-humane abuses — for example, human shields of children, women and the elderly on the tops of Gaza buildings serving as Hamas rocket launch sites into Israel or to store anti-Israel military supplies, the human-shielding ordered by Hamas leaders who are themselves safely sequestered in underground tunnels when the self-defensive Israel rockets necessarily hit the humans made vulnerable by Hamas. The level of human-hating evil required to make human shields of one’s own people — after initiating the rocket violence in the first place — is so incomprehensible that I have looked for and found only a supernaturally evil reason to be sufficient.
Quantum physics, and what it can and cannot explain, ought to open our modern minds to timeless truth about the unseen world which plays out continually as a battle of evil seeking to overcome the greater good.
People flock to the multiplex for Transformer and Thor movies, but the Bible story about good ultimately overcoming evil is actually more fascinating. And what if it’s true, as I believe, because it explains so much that otherwise cannot be comprehended about the far reaches of evil.
By the Bible taken overall, you could write this story as a screenplay that Hollywood is unlikely ever to fund in its entire import. Near the time of creation Satan as top angel with powers second only to God’s fell from grace, permanently, in rebellion against God and the divine plan, wanting to rule instead of following God’s reign. When Satan (not being God) started obviously to lose his rebellion despite enacting significant casualties among humanity on the earth, Satan wondered if return to God would be possible. But God made no plan for redeeming Satan or lesser fallen angels and demons — although God would not give up on a rebellious corrupted humanity as influenced by the tempter, Satan — which infuriated Satan even more. A furiously human-hating Satan and his minions thus wage a supernatural war working through human beings in an attempt to annihilate humanity by disrupting through sin their human relationship with God. Satan’s special emphasis is on Jews, the apple of God’s eye as the original covenant people, with emphasis also on Bible-based Christianity after Jesus came, fully human and fully divine.
Satan thus supernaturally wages his war to remove humanity from God’s plan for our redemption wrapped in the beautiful mystery of the cross and resurrection of Jesus which set the stage for ultimate victory, something only the fully human and fully divine Christ could do.
Satan can only wage his war because the true God (not the human-invented fake Allah) so values free will of all His human and angelic creatures that God allows history to unfold — while giving the maximum possible time on this present earth for human beings to have opportunity to exercise their free will in favor of God in the way He has promised.
By this story, a biblical read of Jewish and Christian history (where all humans have sinned, just a matter of degree) would identify Satan and his cohort of some of the angels and much of humanity as having chaotically rebelled against God’s higher wisdom and intelligence. Islam’s 7th century invention with its hate-crimes-against-humanity manual, the Quran, was a big deal for the satanic forces. Satan and fallen angels, by the Bible witness, cannot be redeemed but forever hate the human beings for whom God provided a way out of sin. Thus, Muslim terrorists wage war not only against non-Muslims but also kill and torture other Muslims on a fairly regular basis (along with routine misogyny of Muslim males against Muslim females of all ages from young to old in their own homes).
Satan no doubt hated when the God of the Bible sent first Noah and the flood as warning to human beings, and later the cross of Jesus to warn people and provide a way out instead of just getting rid of all humans. Not coincidentally, “Bible” is the translation of an ancient word for “book” and the Quran’s most murderous diatribes from its ancient genocidal legacy are against Jews and Christians as “people of the book.”
Islam as globally practiced since its inception in the 7th century fits exactly with the definition of Satan hating all human beings. And because the Bible describes Satan as the deceiver and accuser of human beings, Hamas can be expected deceitfully to reverse truth against Israel today in the war Muslims started against Jews, and Muslims cannot be trusted to tell non-Muslims the truth, ever, as God’s history keeps unfolding in stages toward its ultimate show-down of the biblical God’s (not Allah’s) victory.
At least that’s the greatest story seldom told.

A good article on Edmeleddin Ihsanoglu:
http://counterjihadreport.com/tag/ekmeleddin-ihsanoglu/
As Frank Gaffney has been warning for years, this abstrusely unfamiliar name should become a household name, since with his influence as secretary-general since 2005 of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and his policy activism in favor of Islam, he is one of the most dangerous Muslims on the planet.
The fine article I linked above points out the two most disturbing facts about Ihsanoglu:
1) his #1 priority as secretary-general of the official global representative organization of Islam, the OIC, has been to try to get the West to agree to criminalize all criticism of Islam (which, as Spencer has repeatedly pointed out, logically would help enormously to enable the penetration of Islamic jihad into the West, let alone the concerted (and more flagrantly widespread) havoc, mass-murder, mayhem and misery Islam is causing in Third-World contexts where Muslims feel more able to be more honestly Islamic)
2) two of the most influential and powerful sociopolitical organs of the West — the EU and the Obama Administration — have been for years enabling Ihsanoglu in his #1 priority.
Aside for that (or part and parcel with it), his recent attempt to distance his representation of “moderate Islam” from the supposedly un-Islamic ISIS should be seen for what it is: a Mohammedan Good Cop pretending to be unrelated to the Bad Cop: a common ploy which only works to the extent that the dupe is a stupid gull (and, alas, in this regard the mainstream West continues to be exactly that ).
voegelinian says
correction: I mistyped first name — it should be Ekmeleddin. It’s a good exercise to type and retype his name: Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu, since as I said citing Frank Gaffney, we all should know this man as well as we know Osama bin Laden.
