“Until now, we have destroyed dozens of terror tunnels and we are determined to complete the mission with or without a ceasefire. I will not agree to any proposal that does not allow for this.” That is a tacit acknowledgment that there have been proposals that do not allow for this. Now, where might they have come from?
“Netanyahu Vows: We Won’t Stop Until the Job is Done,” Arutz Sheva, July 31, 2014:
Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu opened a special security cabinet session Thursday morning to address the IDF’s ongoing Operation Protective Edge.
“The IDF will continue to operate in the Gaza Strip with full strength” until the job is done, the Prime Minister said – and not before.
In particular, Netanyahu said that IDF forces had succeeded in destroying dozens of “terror tunnels” dug by Hamas into Israel, noting that the terrorist group was likely planning to kidnap Israeli soldiers and civilians.
He said that he was confident that the IDF could shut down Hamas’s tunnel network and emphasized that even were a ceasefire to be reached Israel would continue to destroy the tunnels.
“Until now, we have destroyed dozens of terror tunnels and we are determined to complete the mission with or without a ceasefire. I will not agree to any proposal that does not allow for this.”
The prime minister claimed Hamas had suffered serious damage in the fighting, with hundreds of fighters killed and hundreds more military positions, rocket launchers and weapons stockpiles destroyed. Several senior Hamas commanders have also been killed or captured.
The current military operation is “only the first phase in the demilitarization of the Gaza Strip,” Netanyahu added, saying that he had communicated that message clearly to American, European and other international leaders.
He also praised the soldiers of the IDF, as well as Chief of Staff Benny Gantz and Defense Minister Moshe Yaalon for their “extraordinary” efforts during the operation, and assured the Israeli public that the government was working “day and night” to secure the citizens of Israel.
“We have a plan and we are working in accordance with it,” he said.
For its part, Netanyahu appealed to the Israeli public to maintain national unity. That unity, he said “allows us to conduct the campaign in a balanced and responsible way. Unity gives our soldiers strength,” warning extremists “on both sides” not to sabotage it.
He went on to criticize ministers who had attacked the government’s conduct of the operation, saying that “government ministers should be setting a personal example to the entire nation” by unconditionally standing behind the war effort.
“The more united we are, the stronger we are.”

It’s time to use the big guns.

I wouldn’t mind betting that there are a lot of British, American, Canadian, Australian and other non-Muslim veterans of the recent Iraq and Afghanistan campaigns who are going to the Israeli websites, and watching the clips of IDF soldiers, accompanied and assisted by faithful K-9s, going into Jihad Armed Camp Gaza to fight jihadis hand-to-hand in a ghastly maze full of boobytraps (where every wild-eyed fighter you meet magically turns into a “civilian” the moment you shoot him – or her – and every “civilian”, even women and kids of primary school age, may well try to kill you the moment you turn your back on them)…and are cheering for the IDF. Because they themselves have been there, done that. They too have encountered booby-trapped houses, and mosques full of munitions. And jihadis who dress up as women, or who send little kids in to fight, or fire on you from amidst women, infants, the elderly. They *know*.

That’s a safe bet dumbledoresarmy.
I’m an American Vet (USAF Pilot) of the Afghanistan/Iraq Wars, and know hundreds of others. I love watching the IDF justice videos, and pray for their safety and success. Every Vet I know is hoping Israel turns up the heat, and not just in Gaza.
We’ve been completely let down and disheartened with Obama’s give back of everything for which we’ve fought and died. We’re disgusted with how impotent and dangerous our CINC is in the Counterjihad, and fully understand Israel must take the lead for freedom. However, I can’t think of a finer leader on Earth than PM Netanyahu to lead this epic fight. Freedom is in good hands with him. I believe God chose him for a reason.
The house to house, tunnel to tunnel fighting is fascinating to watch, but in the bigger picture, it’s not going to solve the principle problem: Islam. Their aren’t enough IDF and Allied soldiers combined to kick in every Muslim door in the World, then Occupy the territory. We simply don’t have enough gold or military to solve this problem conventionally.
Were I POTUS, I’d use stand-off weapons and incremental random Strategic Area Bombing to force every Muslim sovereignty on the planet to criminalize Islam. This could rapidly bring Islam’s end without losing one Allied soldier’s life.
The military solution for Islam’s destruction is fairly simple. But here in America, the President and Secretary of Defense give orders to the military, not the other way around. I generally believe this was a wise design of our forefathers. The problem though is when arrogant fools like LBJ or Obama call the shots based on politics and ignorance, versus Commanders-in-Chief such as Lincoln or FDR who know how to win wars, based heavily on military advice.

Shameful. I wrote on Politico: “Scarborough described himself as having a record as one of Israel’s biggest supporters….”
This is like a “some of my best friends are Jews” moment.
Israel is the acid test to judge a man’s character and integrity. Mr. Scarborough failed the test.

What is the mission? Is it maybe the “final solution” that other ppl have deemed necessary with respect to the Zionists themselves?
John C. Barile says
The mission, my friend–whether or not you choose to accept the fact–is do degrade HAMAS’s offensive capabilities as much as time and circumstances allow. If HAMAS still wants to launch missiles and cross-border attacks, it shall be decimated all the more. As Gaza’s population numbers 1.8 million today, so shall it number 1.8 million after “protective Edge”–less hundreds of HAMAS fighters and their hapless, unintentionally targeted “human shields.”
John C. Barile says
Corrections: should read, “is to degrade”; “after ‘Protective Edge’–.”
Salah says
The mission is the total and complete destruction of Hamas. This time Israel has at least one friend: Egypt.

Hello Salah!
I wish HAMAS were totally destroyed; Israel, however, has not bluntly declared this to be her aim. Still, if HAMAS persists in offensive actions, it may succeed in goading Israel to destroy it in its entirety.

What sickening projection.
The Israelis just want to live safe from attack—Israel has *never* expressed genocidal intentions towards Muslims.
But those “other ppl” that “squeeze the Jews” so coyly posits are pious Muslims—Hamas wants to see the utter destruction of Israel, and genocide of the Jews is a core tenet of Islam.
The only way in which “squeeze the Jews” differs from his genocidal coreligionists is that he would stop at the destruction of Israel—he believes the cowed remnant of Jews should be allowed to survive if they pay the crushing Jizya.
And that is because “squeeze the Jews” believes that Jews are so productive that they should be exploited by surpremacist Muslims—as long as they are under the heel of Islam, that is. *Ugh*.

Yes, again. You do have the goods on STJ.

If they are not doing so already the IDF needs to use thermobaric weapons on this tunnels. pump them full of the fuel air mixer and detonate. and for the mosques hit them with enough explosives to leave a substantial crater.

My dream, my fantasy, is to have one, or more, of these Hamas rocket squads launch a bunch of missiles into Jerusalem and hitting the Dome of the Rock, and I mean collapsing the whole thing…….I can dream can’t I…:)
dumbledoresarmy says
Iron Dome would take it out, I’m afraid, because such a rocket would be identified as a threat to an inhabited area.

Israel will win. GOD Almighty is in their side. And God is not going to let them be destroyed. You can already see when the news comes on and they tally up the dead, who always has more dead?? The enemy of Israel. God watches out for HIS own!! He gave that land to Israel many, many years ago, and it is still theirs to this day. And no amount of wishing it were different or fighting to try and make it different is going to change that!
