Exposing the role that Islamic jihad theology and ideology play in the modern global conflicts

Robert Spencer in Truth Revolt: The Free World’s Willful Ignorance About the Global Jihad

Jul 1, 2014 12:17 am By Robert Spencer

islamwilldominateIn Truth Revolt I discuss the ongoing refusal to face reality.

The world is in flames because of jihad, and yet the fog of deception is thicker than ever. If you have ever tried to point out to friends or coworkers the violent texts and teachings of Islam that jihadists use to justify violence and supremacism, you may have experienced its effects yourself: charges of “racism,” “bigotry,” and “hatred”; invocations of the Crusades, the Inquisition, and the Book of Joshua; and a reminder that the Catechism of the Catholic Church says that Muslims “together with us…adore the one, merciful God” (841).

Yet none of this actually addresses the uniqueness of the jihad phenomenon: Muslims, not Christians or Jews or Hindus or Buddhists, are committing acts of violence today on a global scale, and justifying those acts and making recruits by pointing to their own sacred texts. When foes of jihad terror point this out, however, they tend to place themselves in the position of Dr. Thomas Stockmann in Henrik Ibsen’s An Enemy of the People.

The play is a marvelous parable for our times. Stockmann’s town is famous and prosperous because of its baths, which are believed to have healing properties. But then Stockmann finds to his horror that the baths are not beneficial at all, but actually poisonous, and are making those who bathe in them even worse off than they were previously.

Ever the good citizen, Stockmann sends a report on this to the town’s mayor, recommending that the baths be closed temporarily and costly repairs undertaken to render the waters truly medicinal and not deadly. He expects that the townspeople will be grateful to him for pointing out this looming disaster and helping them avert it. But to his shock, the town leaders are dismissive, even contemptuous, of his findings. They refuse to say anything publicly about what he has discovered, for fear of causing panic and demoralization among the townspeople and ruining the reputation of the baths, which could bankrupt the town.

They warn Stockmann to keep quiet and go along as well, but he refuses, calling a town meeting on his own. There, he is shocked again as the townspeople show themselves no more receptive to his discoveries and recommendations than the authorities were. They see that the baths are making the town rich, and that Stockmann’s findings will hurt the town’s reputation and cost a great deal of money to implement — and they don’t care that the benefits of implementing the repairs he recommends will outweigh the liabilities in the long run. They make fun of him and denounce him, calling him an enemy of the people. And with Stockmann thoroughly discredited, they continue happily on their pathway to their own destruction, and the destruction of untold numbers of other people.

That, in a nutshell, is what will happen to you if you stand up against jihad terror today. Willful ignorance completely blankets the discourse about jihad-related issues.

A particularly egregious example came in the UK’s Daily Mail this week, in a piece devoted to how jihadists from Nigeria and Kenya to Syria and Iraq have set so much of the world aflame. The Mail interviewed Andreas Krieg, a Middle East security analyst at King’s College London in Qatar, about the rise of “Islamist extremism.” Krieg agreed that there was a problem: “All the empirical evidence shows that it is on the rise. You’re seeing it in all the headlines, then you’re looking at Iraq, you’re looking at Syria, you’re looking at Nigeria.” However, he added, “in all three cases this has nothing to do with Islam. I think people in the West may think it is because they feel alienated by Islam. There is a lot of Islamaphobia.”

Krieg attempted an explanation for how all this Islam that has nothing to do with Islam came about: “When communities become disenfranchised – and lot of them are Muslim – they use Islam to further their particular cause. They adhere to a radical interpretation of Islam, but it has nothing to do with the religion.”

How could a “radical interpretation of Islam” have “nothing to do with the religion”? How could it be possible that these groups that uniformly explain and justify their actions on the basis of Islam have nothing to do with Islam? How can it be that a group that calls itself the Islamic State of Iraq and Levant and another that calls itself the Congregation of the People of the Sunnah for Dawah and Jihad have nothing to do with Islam?

It is also noteworthy that this risible interview got printed at all. What stake does the mainstream media have in absolving Islam of responsibility for evils perpetrated in its name and in accord with its teachings? Why does the mainstream media always rush to exonerate Islam of any connection to the ever-mounting number of atrocities done in its name and inspired by its texts and teachings, instead of explaining the ideology that jihadis say motivates and inspires them?

This fog of deception and willful ignorance is only hindering genuine attempts to formulate positive and effective ways to limit the power of Islamic teachings to incite to violence. But it doesn’t look as if it is going to clear anytime soon.

I disagree. When having these conversations with friends and family, I am not called a bigot or a racist, I am met with confusion and blank stares. How do you suggest guiding the conversation with thoughtful people? This story won’t be helpful.

Quite frankly, (friend / family member) from (US city not seeing activity), will not make a connection. Truly, life is good and happy for most of us, and (shocker for muslim readers) we are doing good things. How to make the connection?

No question we saw “An Enemy of the people” in England in the nineteen thirties. Winston Churchill was an an enemy of the people throughout the decade as he warned of the impending and growing Nazi threat. He was a “warmonger” and a “scaremonger.”

Slavery’s excuse, excuses itself, surrounded by Islam’s compromised reality,
where truth becomes stuck in a dark dream.
Muslims who crave Islam’s approval become shackled to depression, unrelenting emptiness while longing to break free yet so afraid to leave.

perhaps if we use the term “literal interpretation”, such as “He created the world in 6 days”. some people take the literal interpretation of creation in Genesis to be true/truth. jihadies take the literal interpretation of the karan & guidance of the travelers to be the literal word of allah. & follow whats written.

Yes, indeed, dear friend Harbidoll. The difference is that Jesus, Who is the promised Messiah that died and rose from the dead as Isaiah (in 730 BC) prophesied that He would die and rise from the dead (see Isaiah chapter 53), this Jesus Who came from heaven did believe the Old Testament to be the inspired Word of God which , therefore, is all true, but the Koran is utterly man’s work. It is the devil’s work to get as many people into hell as possible. And the pedophile’s body has already rotted in the ground but also awaiting the resurrection, but his soul is in hell which is, truly, unfortunate. God the Holy Trinity have mercy on all of us and may he bless our country, the U.S., Canada, the U.K. New Zealand, Australia and every country to see the truth and to also see THE TRUTH. (Jesus)

The best I can suggest is to join an organization that can give you the opportunity to marshal your resources in a more meaningful and morale boosting way. May I suggest the Q Society, an Australian group dedicated to educating the wider public about Islam. Robert Spencer was in Australia earlier this year a guest speaker of Q Society. Good luck.

What to do? Very difficult. What did Jesus do? He prayed and in love and patience He continued to preach the truth and, even when the high priest put Him under oath, He spoke the truth even then, and with the help of His heavenly Father and the angel that was sent to comfort Him in the mount of Olives, he suffered and He died and then He rose from the dead. God help us to show our love and concern for our relatives and friends and the people of our country by speaking the truth in love and patience, and then with God’s help to pay the consequences when they and our government does not pay attention and we all suffer for it. God bless His people that are once again suffering under the rule of the devil and Mo’s shariah law.

Just keep going and do not give up. And try to keep cool (say I, who find this *very* difficult, when in real life face to face with my nearest and dearest). Try hard to stick with “just the facts ma’am” as Mr Spencer does.

Try to find ways of making people *curious*; and keep an eye open for those moments when they *are* curious.

If your friends have heard of the Nigerian schoolgirls, try to offer them one paragraph about slavery in Islam and “possessions of the right hand”, or tell them the story of Mohammed and Safiyya (the Jewish girl whom he raped on the evening of the very day in which he murdered her husband).

And then just leave it at that.

Same with child brides: summarise Mohammed and Aisha in one sentence, and emphasise that although it’s not in the Quran, it’s described in some detail in the *other* canonical texts of Islam, the Hadith. Mohammedan child brides have been somewhat in the Aussie news of late.

Go to the Barnabas Fund website. There you can buy a bunch of **dirt cheap** but beautifully produced pamphlets – “What is Islam?”, “Islam and Slavery”, “Islam and Truth”, and the best one of all “What is Shari’a?” For anyone who’s being suckered by Mohammedan nonsense about how Muslims “respect Jesus and Mary”, there’s “Is the Muslim Isa the Biblical Jesus?” (conclusion: NO, NO, and again NO). They’ll cost you about a dollar each. Get a sackful – especially the one on Sharia. Keep them in your handbag, glovebox, desk drawer; and leave them lying on the kitchen table or coffee table for people to see. Donate them to your church, if you’re a churchgoer. They are in plain language, but factual and scholarly, with just a few solid references so people can cross-check.

I’ve met blank stares myself from people who rely on newspapers and TV for information. They are unaware that there is so much news about the murder cult that is deliberately omitted.

I’ve suggested this to Robert Spencer before:

We urgently need a downloadable and searchable PDF version of the Koran with every abrogated verse having a faint cross out, followed by the abrogating verse IN FULL, plus a brief explanation of the Islamic legal authorities that have approved the abrogation.

I would even be happy to purchase hard copy versions of such a complete Koran to send to some of my more deluded friends.

I don’t have the resources to do this myself, but if Mr Spencer or someone with enough financial resources could do this, it could prove beneficial in educating at least some of those innocents who know next to nothing about the murder cult.

    • Jan Fourowls says

      Jul 1, 2014 at 6:50 am

Yes, agreed, Ahem, please keep asking to have this resource online! It would be the equivalent of the Bible Gateway site that provides access online to the Bible in its translations depending on reader preference. You can also search that website by keyword, passage or topic if you don’t know the exact citation.

If the Quran (or Koran, a sword by any name is still so bad) were searchable online by itself or by comparison to the Judeo-Christian scriptures, the appalling evil of Islamic scriptures would be evident. The Islamist claim that they too have Jesus and the Jewish prophets would be shown for the twisted abomination it is, because of the Quranic passages about tricking, tormenting, torturing, terrorizing, enslaving and/or murdering Christians and Jews.

If Islam had not trickily dressed its ugliness up in the wrapping of a religion that scripturally steals from but horrifically distorts Judaism and Christianity, then the Quran would be nothing but another “how to” hate crimes manual.

Islamofascism? Yes, the Quran and Mein Kampf belong together on the bookshelf.

I pray that Jesus Christ protect us, and that God send his mighty angels on behalf of Christians and Jews for this spiritual battle against the evil of Islam.

Also I realize (and have gratitude for) non-religious people who nonetheless on moral grounds oppose the evil of Islam. You never know how God might move in your life later. My Christianity came easily because I was born to faith practice, left for secular postmodern early adulthood, then experienced a conviction in my soul that the present level of evil unprecedented in world history can best be explained by the Bible understood through the lens of the cross of Jesus Christ.

If you feel that’s not for you at this time, maybe later! I hope so, because He is an amazing comfort in a world this upside down and, well, eternity would be better shared with a bigger party!

Crucial for maximizing the impact of such a Koran exposition is what Ahem mentioned earlier —

“…plus a brief explanation of the Islamic legal authorities that have approved the abrogation.”

And this would have to reflect (with credible citations and quotes) mainstream clerics and mainstream Islamic organizations, and lots of them.

Otherwise, the garden-variety Westerner will briefly register it for 5 seconds, then his eyes will glaze over and he’ll move on to other bourgeois distractions (at best — if he does not whip out boilerplate PC MC objections; e.g., “Wull, what about the Old Testament…?”, tongue wagging like an intelligent retard).

Everybody knows a seemingly good Muslim, so their point of reference becomes this good and peaceful Muslim. Along with that people are enjoying their daily life, working, playing with their kids, vacationing, and just living. Islam is not affecting them now. One has to continue to feed their friends information about Islamic events around the world along with bits of information about the Qur’an. The process is slow but it will expose Islam for the governmental hateful religion that it is.

Regardless of what awaits us after death, this world’s problems will no longer be a concern. If the world cannot be as I would have it, then I want nothing more to do with, save for that which amuses me.

But, Richard, there is much more than this temporal life. God created man, but, he sinned and brought death. But because of God’s great love for man, He promised a Saviour, Jesus. He has come and atoned for our sins. Consider Him Who died for you and rose from the dead as Scripture prophesied that He would do. Why not trust in Him for forgiveness and eternal life so that you have hope, the blessed assurance of eternal life in heaven. If these things were not true, then we have no reason or purpose of life, no hope of salvation. What a terrible existence that would be. God bless you.

  11. Custos Custodum says

    Jul 1, 2014 at 12:47 pm

We need to pay MUCH more attention to the precise ways in which the subversion of Western values and Western society works in practice in the media, educational and political organizations.

97% of the “journalists”, “news reporters”, “educators”, political actors etc. whose intentionally shoddy and purblind work we see in the “mainstream” media etc. are terrified of leaving the comfortable ideological and social consensus around them. Their left-wing ideology and exclusive social environment merge into an effective religious CULT.

Typically, CULTISTS lack or shun virtually all family, professional or general social interactions outside the CULT.

This CULT mentality prompts these opinion shapers to adopt a mixture of willful blindness and and intellectual viciousness in their reporting of news on Islam and other touchstone issues. There is a strong element of leftist/”progressive” hatred of traditional Christianity and Judaism.

THE OTHER 3% – typically at the TOP OF THE HIERARCHY in news and educational organizations and political parties – are in direct contact with and various forms PAID by well-financed organizations backed by Saudi and other Islamic interests and/or by nihilist/atheist forces (Soros né Georg Schwartz). In other words, these individuals are CONSCIOUS AND PAID AGENTS OF INFLUENCE.

The interaction between the senior agents of influence and the cult is fluid. A key factor is organizational “tone” For example, the more independent-minded members of the media (e.g. with the Wall Street Journal, Fox and other News Corp. outlets) are well aware that one of the minority owners of News Corp. is Prince Al-Waleed bin Talal bin Abdulaziz al Saud. Any utterances viewed as “Islamophobic” or insufficiently tolerant of Islamic supremacism are clearly a bad career move that may result in ostracism, dismissal and personal ruin.

The majority LEFT-WING media groups have, of course, similar disclosed and undisclosed PAID AGENTS of influence in their senior ranks. For example, the New York Times is effectively partly owned by the Lebanese-Mexican oligarch Carlos Slim who – although apparently not a Muslim himself – is well attuned to the need to avoid displeasing Muslim interests in the Middle East.

P.S.: Curiously, the current Wikipedia entry for News Corp. fails to mention that Al-Waleed is part owner of News Corp. itself.

    Excellent analogy Robert.
Kafka, Ibsen and Orwell were prophetic. What’s even more amazing is that these three men are studied in most major universities where the leftist media idiots get their degrees, and yet they are still blind to their own bias and to the dire world situation that we face. Christ said it plainly, “Having eyes they cannot see; and having ears they cannot hear”.
Truly, this generation of liberals and liberal media are the modern day scribes, pharisees, lawyers, and chief priests; whom our Lord called serpents, children of their father the devil, blind guides, whited sepulchers.
He further said to them, “How can you escape the damnation of hell?”
Nothing has changed in two thousand years.

Well, “Orwellian” wouldn’t be the tragicomic irony it is were it not twisted to its logical conclusion into the phenomenon of a sociopolitical culture simultaneously heeding Orwell’s warnings (and gravely praising him) while purveying the very disease he warned us against.

Worse of all is how disinfranchised people flok to this cult for security. In a twisted way, they follow the exploits of mad-mo’. They justify killing, stealing, raping and other acts of violence, against non-mudslimes(kaffers) as a ‘religious’ duty.
In the Philadelphia prison system, mudslimes have been given a “special” status. All food must be hallal, their prayer time can over-ride any scheduled activities. Even showers must adhere to their sense of “modesty”. Gangs of mudslimes get to be workers, and roam the corridors at night enforceing their form of justice on other prisoners. Many of the impressionable youths, who are incarcerrated are duped into believing that their’s is the way it is supposed to be. The muzzy’s actually have as much clout as the wave of “gender-benders” who demanded and get state funded hormone treatments and change-over operations.
But somehow, what happens in Nigeria, Egypt, Indonesia and ect., usually doesn’t register. The only time they react, is when they are questioned about mad-mo’ or their philosophy, they throw up a wall of anger resentment and threaten violence. There’s no way to deal with them.
Jesus was a prophet. He healed, raised the dead and helped people in need.
mad-mo’, on the other hand, was a theif, murderer, rapist, pedeophile, executioner etc.. This is their model of the “perfect man” that they all should emulate. What prophecy did he make? Did he ever heal anybody? Did he so much as cleanse a whore or raise the dead? No! Not one good or even decent deed!
They believe that the world is theirs, and the we”people of the book” stole it for ourselves, and it must be taken back. It’s their religious duty to jihad.

Yes, that would be ideal and no doubt someone like Robert Spencer could do an excellent job writing it.
The book I mentioned is short and an easy read for lazy readers such as myself. It is chronological unlike the Qur’an and omits a lot of redundant verses.

The book you are proposing would seem to be even shorter which would make it easier to read and be a quick counter point reference against deniers of Islam’s duplicity of abrogation.
