Actually, the word camerata means comrade, but specifically refers to Mussolini’s fascists: “Other posters depicting a Palestinian throwing a rock towards an Israeli tank were attached on walls in Cola di Rienzo street, in the leafy Prati neighbourhood. The latter was accompanied with a Celtic cross and the slogan ‘Each Palestinian is a camerata [the Italian word for members of Mussolini’s fascist movement] Same enemy, same barricade.'” In the West, Leftists and Islamic supremacists like to smear opponents of jihad terror as fascists, but this shows yet again that the real fascists are on their side.
“Gaza Crisis: Rome’s Historic Jewish Quarter Daubed with Swastikas and Anti-Semitic Posters,” by Gianluca Mezzofiore, International Business Times, July 28, 2014:
Anti-Semitic graffiti and flyers have defaced shops and walls in Rome’s historical Jewish San Giovanni neighbourhood raising fears of a rise in anti-Jewish sentiment in the capital.
Swastika graffiti and posters reading “Anne Frank storyteller” have appeared on Appia Nuova street. Other posters depicting a Palestinian throwing a rock towards an Israeli tank were attached on walls in Cola di Rienzo street, in the leafy Prati neighbourhood. The latter was accompanied with a Celtic cross and the slogan “Each Palestinian is a camerata [the Italian word for members of Mussolini’s fascist movement] Same enemy, same barricade”.
The Jewish community in Rome is reputed to be the oldest Jewish community in Europe and also one the oldest continuous Jewish settlements in the world. A surge in anti-Semitism following Israel’s military operation in Gaza has been condemned by Italy’s foreign minister along with France and Germany.
Unlike Paris, where troublemakers clashed with police and attacked kosher stores and synagogues, including several that were firebombed, Italy has not seen any major anti-Jewish incidents so far. However tensions fuelled by conflict in the Middle East erupted in Rome at the beginning of the month.
A Jewish youth beat up a Palestinian supporter, as two opposing demonstrations, one pro-Israel and one against raids in Gaza and the West Bank came close to each other.
The latest act of vandalism has been slammed by Riccardo Pacifici, head of the Rome’s Jewish community: “This morning Rome woke up in the worst possible way. Its walls have been defaced by dozens of graffitis praising neo-Nazi hatred towards Jews. From Appia to Prati, from the historic centre to the outskirts, insults and death threats have plastered the shops’ shutters.
“Rome cannot become like Paris where Jews are attacked, synagogues surrounded and hanging around with the kippa on the head is a real danger,” he said.

Well organized Muslims
The same one’s claiming Islamo-phobic victimization in the West
They wish to appeal to the bandana wearing Leftist to join in on the Anti-Semitic bandwagon.

An Angle of God told Hagar, “You will have a boy and his name will be Ishmael and he will be as a ‘wild donkey’ and his hand will be against everyone and everyone’s hand will be against him.” SO; the Muslim Destiny has been given by God and these Muslim’s are living up to their WORTH.

Ralph, you’re sooooo right. A friend and I were just discussing this passage in the Old Testament. Just think if Ishmael was never to be born, the world could coexist and peace on earth.

It is sad to see Italy, a country that has suffered under Islamic Jihad, now turn around and support the muslims who wish to see them destroyed. Bizarre and irrational…very European.
Sad times indeed.

Pope France-Ass should immediately explain that authentic islam contains no violence. Maybe he could leaflet the city with his encyclical.

Just curious: what is the point of the “celtic” cross? Is that an insult to Israel or to Christians or both?
mke ryan says
The Celtic cross is a motif frequently used in neo-Nazi and pro-fascist, white supremacist groups in the United States and globally.
marc says
It depends on the context of its use, a bit like when I see a swastika above the door of a Hindu families home, I see it as a symbol of peace, when I see it hoisted as a flag above a mosque in Israel, I have a completely different reaction.
Many white supremacist groups around the world misuse the Celtic Cross, in some places, it’s probably the only time you’ll see it displayed.
Joe Murphy says
Robert, given the context you have stated, you should probably use the word ‘camerata’, not ‘comrade’ in your headline; sometimes the best translation is to leave in the original language.

With French Jews being trapped inside synagogues while anti-Semite riot outside the buildings, shops in Belgium saying they won’t serve Jews, British Jews beaten in the streets, Dutch Jews harassed and shoved by muzz bullies if they “dare” go out in public… and now this is happening to the Jews of Rome?
Europe has literally regressed- it is over 70 years ago… welcome to Europe of the 1940s. I am hoping that the Pope say something against this attack on Roman Jews… though sadly he has not taken a hard stance against Islam.
Europe for the second time in a century… has chosen to turn their backs on a talented, gifted and wonderful people… and in their place embrace monsters in human form. How Europeans can reject their Jewish populations and embrace the muzz-sewage who are destroying their nations is horrible.
Hopefully, the pro-Israel and pro-Jewish rallies with thousands of people we saw in London and Amsterdam will grow and fight these attacks on European Jewry.

Good post, Arjay.
”Europe has literally regressed- it is over 70 years ago… welcome to Europe of the 1940s.”
**Has** Europe ‘regressed’ ? I really wonder. Anti-Semitism in Europe, (and I don’t exclude the UK) is like a pernicious weed one thought one had eradicated from the flower bed. Instead, it keeps rearing its nasty head. Why ? I really wish I knew.
”Europe for the second time in a century… has chosen to turn their backs on a talented, gifted and wonderful people… and in their place embrace monsters in human form.”
Perhaps **this** is part of the answer ? Yes, a talented and gifted people. Jealousy ? Hatred of those who have more gifts than one has ? Plus, religious hatred, and spleen, against those who have been designated in the Bible, as the ”Chosen People”.
Orwell noted, in one of his articles during the Second World War, that although he hadn’t detected any *overt* anti-Semitism, there was an undercurrent of resentment against the ‘Chosen People’; in that he often heard, whilst travelling on the tube, comments to the effect, ”of course, they won’t hit Golders Green, because the ‘ Chosen ‘ live there.”
Add that to resentment and jealousy of the general cleverness, brilliancy and innovation, of so many Jews, and one has a toxic brew that can be used in any way an evil and unscrupulous ‘leader’ wishes.
” How Europeans can reject their Jewish populations and embrace the muzz-sewage who are destroying their nations is horrible.”
Yes. Which leads me to think that perhaps there is a proportion of the human race, which is in thrall, and has sold itself to, the proponents of evil. What other explanation is there ? Creatures who can call Anne Frank a liar, and dismiss the thousands of first hand experiences of those who endured the Shoah, and call it all a hoax ; what, in the name of God, can be done with such ?
”Hopefully, the pro-Israel and pro-Jewish rallies with thousands of people we saw in London and Amsterdam will grow and fight these attacks on European Jewry”
**Yes** !!!
I’ve spent a large proportion of today, sending emails, and proper letters, to the Israeli Embassy in the UK, and to camoron, my own MP, and any other powerful person I could think of. I also wrote to Benjamin Netanyahu, expressing my total sympathy and solidarity. I hope others here have done the same.
I am positive Israel **will** prevail, but she needs lots of lovemail, and expressions of solidarity. Go, JW’rs !!
