Exposing the role that Islamic jihad theology and ideology play in the modern global conflicts

Saudi Arabia sends 30,000 troops to Iraq border

Jul 3, 2014 10:19 am By Robert Spencer

091210-saudi-troopsIraq troops abandoned the border, and so the Saudis moved in to protect it. There could soon be a showdown with the forces of The Islamic State, as the new caliphate wants to unite all Muslims under its rule, including those currently under the rule of the House of Saud.

“Saudi Arabia Sends 30,000 Troops to Iraq Border: State-Owned TV,” NBC News, July 3, 2014 (thanks to Kenneth):

DUBAI – Saudi Arabia has deployed 30,000 soldiers to its border with Iraq after Iraqi soldiers withdrew from the area, Saudi-owned al-Arabiya television reported Thursday. The world’s top oil exporter shares an 500-mile border with Iraq, where Islamic State of Iraq and al-Sham (ISIS) insurgents and other Sunni Muslim militant groups seized towns and cities in a lightning advance last month. King Abdullah has ordered all necessary measures to protect the kingdom against potential “terrorist threats,” state news agency SPA reported on Thursday.

Al-Arabiya said on its website that Saudi troops fanned into the border region after Iraqi government forces abandoned positions, leaving the Saudi and Syrian frontiers unprotected. The satellite channel said it had obtained a video showing some 2,500 Iraqi soldiers in the desert area east of the Iraqi city of Karbala after pulling back from the border. An officer in the video aired by al-Arabiya said that the soldiers had been ordered to quit their posts without justification. The authenticity of the recording could not immediately be verified.

Any nation-state that can’t secure its own borders is non-viable as a nation and a failed state–and, heck, I’m not even talking about the United States of America!

Let’s see–that leaves most of Iraq’s border with Syria, Iraq’s border with Jordan, and now Iraq’s border with Saudi Arabia opened to the Islamic State.

Oh, Great! That’s very comforting to know.

This piece of startling news falls into two categories. One, the fox is now guarding the chicken coop. It’s like asking radical islamists to guard the more radicalized islamists from the insanely radicalized islamists. Or, two, if the Iraqi army, which was supposedly a western “trained” fighting force, surrendered their arms so meekily, what can the Saudi army do differently in the face of the ISIS? Bend over? Or, point out the right directions to where our forces are stationed in the Arabia Gulf? Watch this space folks. Watch the Saudis demand advanced weaponry from the west and, when the west readily complies, then turn it over to the ISIS as a form of peace offering.

War is never something to be happy about, even if it is the enemy tearing itself apart. Innocent people are killed in wars, and I guarantee not every person killed in the coming conflict will be a Jihadist or enemy of the West. Not ALL Muslims are out for our blood.

I’m sure Robert Spencer isn’t dancing around, happy about this turn of events. Like any compassionate human being, I imagine he is concerned what these developments mean for the stability of the Middle East. You might hate Islam, but I’m sure you don’t hate people. In our fight against the threat that Islam poses, we tend to forget that there are innocent people amongst those we name as our enemies.

War is a terrible thing; at times it is a necessary evil when fighting greater evils. If one thing the ongoing conflict in the Middle East has taught us, it does not seem to serve to weaken the threat – merely galvanise more nascent Jihadists into attacking us and our troops. This does not strike me as a good thing – no real good can come of the situation in Iraq, and may serve to cause problems in our own backyard down the line.

The problem with the Jihad issue is that there is no easy solution to any of it, but cheering for a war in a distant land will not serve to further the anti – Jihad movement in any meaningful way. We may just have more Leftist idiots pointing to these comments as further proof that we are little more than blood thirsty bigots. I stand by Robert Spencer because he is morally upright, and through his righteousness we will win the fight against Islam. We will not win by descending to the levels of our enemies, otherwise – we might as well be fighting ourselves and give up.

The incredible thing is, their entire war doctrine is available on Amazon for very little. Imagine if we could buy the entire war doctrine of the soviet communists – all their strategy and tactics – in a bookstore in the late forties. How much easier it would have been to counter them. That is what we have available to us in Islamic doctrine.

All you have to do to defeat jihad is read the Koran, Hadith, Sira and Sharia law, then formulate a response. They don’t do anything that isn’t in there. They follow a process; it’s not random. We will win, but things are going to get much worse before they get better…

        Well said.
Trouble is, we Americans aren’t wired in such a manner as to enable us to fight these butchering Muslims on their terms.
We simply don’t “do” duplicity, and smiling-knife-at-the-throat, and fire-bomb-hurling-into-cafes quite like these butchering Muslims “do” these things to each other and to their enemies.
That’s of course a compliment to us Americans, but we must keep this in mind as this Muslim/Western Culture war continues for the coming decades.

You can not negotiate with them. They only understand one thing. brute force and it is going to be this force that can protect our way of life and nothing else….have a great 4th. M

Innocent people are *always* killed in wars. Always have been, always will be.

”The problem with the Jihad issue is that there is no easy solution to any of it, but cheering for a war in a distant land will not serve to further the anti – Jihad movement in any meaningful way.”

If the Islamic world tears itself apart, as it is doing now, and has always done, then I say that *does* ”further the anti-jihad movement” in a *very* ”meaningful way”. islam has always, throughout its history, ended up eating its own.

This time, I sincerely hope they do a thorough job of it.

The only ones *I* am sorry for, are the children and the babies.

If they get to fight one another, we’ll get to see whether this contemporary, regular Islamic army is worth a damn. In all my lifetime, they have proven not to be worth one single ‘damn’ anywhere, unless they can dress as civilians, hide behind pregnant women, and launch their missiles from The Orphanage For The Cutest Children With Terminal Cancer and Big Eyes.

The Saudis have the finest equipment and training that money can buy – Sandhurst, West Point, all the finest planes, tanks and guns in the world.

But the question is, what are the men like? We may see at some point…

    Abdullah..Abdullah…Abdullah …

Allah SWT had accorded you the name of “slave of Allah”, made you a king and gave you riches beyond your pathetic little sunni brain could find of ways to spend it.

Of course you sent money out to make Mosques, make hospitals and schools…filled them with foreign teachers and foreign nurses. You did not think that it would be necessary to train your lazy arab subjects…for them to learn and use their damak every so often.

Of course you sent money out to sunni fighters (as late as last week) to blast the infidel and wipe out the shia, the ahmadi, the bhia, the sufi …any muslim who didn’t fit your pathetic model of obese, lazy, rich, uneducated sunni having money to spend on the best goods that the *infidel* produced.

You kept the odd educated sunni to buy America’s debt …kept the US in your pocket…forced Obama to kneel to you. That’s why 9/11 passed you by …you thought you can get away with anything….bastard.

It was a good model too …thick sunnis don’t attack their own…but Bagdadi has a doctorate…he has passed YOU by mate…he says he is the Caliphate and he outranks you…and he wants your riches to control and expand his empire.

Ofcourse Zia-ul-Haq my Pakistani president (spit on the turd) did the same thing…give carte blanch license to his “religious” fighters to fight one and all …”but no nonsense at home …except shia/Ahmadi …you understand!!!!”…did anyone in the Saud let you know that he was blown up….no lessons learnt there then.

I hear you never allow live rounds to be passed to your soldiers …in an attempt to keep Saud coup-less. But now 30,000 of them….with live rounds…and how many of them are/will be ISIS soldiers mate?….with your live rounds?

They maybe at the border now …and how many of your American trained sunni soldiers are going to run at the 1st ISIS shot fired…how many of them will turn on the “brothers” and how many will join the ISIS?

Abdullah ….WELCOME TO THE REAL WORLD…Quadaffi, Saddam…their world…payback will be a bitch for you …and your sunni bitches too…enjoy your palace and your sand dunes for now …because soon Abdullah Allah SWT will show you how displeased he is with the way you spoilt all the riches…

It may even be worth losing Bagdad…if it means you can go too….”av-our” for now …but goodbye soon (wink wink Abdulllah).

    More Later ….

Fascinating article and a real shocker, too — I actually agree with Rezali on this one!

All the money from the Saudi black gold that has been poured into global jihad has created the scenario for the House of Saud’s own apocalyptic demise. Irony of ironies.

      Nevertheless, Rezali’s a clown!

There can never be a Reformation of Islam as we know it – the Jihadists are the reformers. Lutheranism and other forms of protestantism were backlashes against the Catholic church’s strayings from the teachings of Christ, and increasing idolatry and ritualism. Islam purports that the Quran is the direct, unadulterated word of Allah, so any attempt to go back to the roots of Islam would simply result in an even more violent form. Islam, like Nazism, Communism, and other fascist creeds, must be destroyed before humanity may advance further in a peaceful way.

there is a solution, do not interfere, take off the gloves and hit them hard where it hurts. All of this came about because we fought with gloves, Human rights, public opinion and all that crap. if you want to go to war you don’t paly games, you go to win. let them slaughter each other and keep them away from Lebanon and Israel and then face the winner. This time take the gloves off and fight to win.

What really worries me are the several recent YT reports where illegal Hispanic immigrants have told of Arab and Far Eastern-looking men coming across the Mexican border with them after paying to get in. If this is true, real terrorists would be foolhardy not to take advantage of a leaky US border. God save us if these Islamic terrorists get into the US the same as Hispanic illegals. They have no doubt plans to do bombings in the US, which could spark martial law. It seems way too easy for this scenario to play out. And too easy for the Islamic terrorists. If drugs can come in via ship-containers and semi-trucks, they can also get bomb materials in the same exact way — its only a matter of price.
