Pakistan’s Sharia blasphemy laws have been the cause of untold suffering for innocent people. But since they are based upon Islamic law, the global “human rights community” doesn’t dare speak out strongly against them. To do so would be “Islamophobic.”
“Blasphemy accused sentenced to death,” Dawn, July 14, 2014 (thanks to all who sent this in):
LAHORE: A sessions court on Monday handed down the death sentence and imposed a fine of Rs100,000 on a blasphemy accused after charges were proved against him.
Additional sessions court Judge Naveed Iqbal issued the ruling in the case.
The accused, Zulfikar, was ‘caught red-handed’ while writing blasphemous remarks on the walls of Afghan Park in Lahore’s Islampura area in 2008.
He was booked under blasphemy charges on a complaint filed by area residents.
The area residents had also claimed that the man used derogatory language at the time of the azaan (call for prayer).
Though Pakistan has never carried out the death penalty for blasphemy, it is one of the countries to have the most people jailed over its blasphemy laws.
Blasphemy is a highly sensitive issue in Pakistan, where 97 per cent of the 180 million population is Muslim and the law, with a lack of procedural safeguards, has contributed to an alarming number of mob attacks and vigilante violence over the issue.
Pakistan in the past has urged the United Nations to make blasphemy an internationally recognised offense.
John C. Barile says
I think that the UN should make Pakistan an internationally recognized offense.
Raj says
u r absolutely right bro.
Gene says
These reports never say what the accused actually said. I suspect that is the way the trial goes too.
Judge: What did the defendant say?
Witness: It was too blasphemous to repeat.
Judge: That is very powerful evidence. The defendant cannot testify because he is not Muslim. Therefore, since he has failed to present a defense, I find him guilty and sentence him to death.

This news story is just one more of the many examples the of the fact that the Muslims have proven by their own actions that the foundations and doctrines of Islam are so weak that this religion can’t stand up to or hold up to criticism.
In other words a critic of Islam is send to prison or worse for his criticism of Islam under “blasphemy laws” because the imams and mullahs have no valid arguments to defend Islam to they result to having those in power use force. That is violence or prison to silence those who are staring to think for themselves and who are likewise speaking out. What a weak feeble religion Islam must be. This many Muslims have proven by their own actions.
