“The group has vowed to step up attacks during the Islamic holy month of Ramadan.” Most Western analysts would consider that anomalous, because they don’t have any understanding of Islamic theology. In reality, Ramadan is a month for renewing one’s Islamic piety, and jihadists consider their jihad attacks to be expressions of that piety. Thus it is perfectly understandable that they would step up such attacks during Ramadan.
“Somali president’s palace under attack from al-Shabab,” BBC, July 8, 2014:
Islamist al-Shabab militants have attacked the presidential palace in the Somali capital, Mogadishu, and entered the heavily fortified compound.
An al-Shabab spokesman said fighting was ongoing, but a government official told the BBC the attack was over and the militants had all been killed.
President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud was not at the palace at the time.
The al-Qaeda-aligned al-Shabab group lost control of Mogadishu in 2011, but often carries out attacks in the city.
The group has vowed to step up attacks during the Islamic holy month of Ramadan.
On Saturday, a suicide car bomb exploded near the capital’s parliament building, killing at least four people. The BBC’s Mohammed Moalimu in Mogadishu says President Mohamud was attending a function at the residence of the UN special envoy to Somalia, near the airport.
A large contingent of the Somali military police accompanied him, leaving the presidential palace, known as Villa Somalia, mainly under the protection of African Union soldiers, he says.
The presidential palace is the seat of government and many top government officials live and work there.
It is not clear if the prime minister and speaker of parliament were in the compound when it was attacked.
“We have entered the so-called presidential palace. We have now captured some parts of the palace and fighting is still going on,” al-Shabab spokesman Sheikh Abdiasis Abu Musab told the Reuters news agency.
The spokesman said that 14 government soldiers had been killed in the attack.
However a government official, who asked not to be named, told the BBC the situation was now under control and that attackers had all been killed.
He declined to comment on the number of casualties….

Ok two things. First, I wish everyone on the planet would stop referring to Ramadan with the [seemingly mandatory] prelim “…the holy month of…”. It is the opposite of a “holy” month, so let’s start saying simply “Ramadan” or “…[the Muslim month of fasting and jihad]…Ramadan”. At least that would be accurate.
I understand that in the context of this blog post IT IS A DIRECT QUOTATION. I get that. But when not quoting someone directly, let’s just say “Ramadan”, instead of “the Muslim holy month of Ramadan”. There is NOTHING “holy” about it.
Second, can we all [sane counter-jihadists one and all] stop referring to “The Prophet of Islam, Muhammad…”. I get it that THEY consider this devil a “prophet”. But WE certainly do not. So don’t give him the honor of the title. To do so denigrates every true prophet. Replacement phrase: “The founder of Islam, Muhammad…”. In a past life, I was a teacher and I always took pains to do this, so as not to confer on this devil any honor only due to true prophets.
What is Ramadan? A month when Muslims fast and increase their jihad against infidels. “The Muslim month of fasting known as Ramadan”. “Holy” was nowhere in sight, I promise you.
Who is Muhammad? The founder of Islam. Simple. That states the truth without bestowing on this devil any honor due to a true prophet.
And finally: Why bestow upon Islam the title of “religion” in the first place? We [sane lovers of freedom] know better. It is an [follow me people] IDEOLOGY, not a religion ‘tout cours’. So let us simply say “the ideology of Islam”, like we would when referring to any other primarily political (dealing with the ‘polis’ or state, broadly) ideology, like Nazism or Communism. Islam is NOT a “religion” as most of the civilized world understands this term. So let’s stop bestowing upon it the honors due to true religion. Quite simple: just replace “religion” with “ideology” every time. Works like a charm.
I know I’m dreaming in color here, but isn’t it true? Muhammad wasn’t a prophet. A founder yes. But a ‘prophet’? No.
And Islam is not a ‘religion’ as much as it is a political ideology.
And Ramadan is not ‘holy’ as most of us understand that term. So let’s call a spade a spade and stop using the enemy’s vocabulary.
Anyway. My two cents. The words of Job are ended.

Yeah and the same holds true for the “holy quran” …it’s actually UNholy, as well!

Well Joseph it is not the moslems in this article that is calling Ramadan a holy month, it is the BBC. If you go to islamic sources you will find that Ramadan was never a holy month.
In his final sermon before his death, Muhammad said, among other things, “With Allah the months are twelve; four of them are holy; three of these are successive and one occurs singly between the months of Jumaada and Sha’ban.”
The three successive months are
11. Dhul-Qi’dah (“The month of rest” – another month when no warfare or fighting is allowed)
12. Dhul-Hijjah (“The month of Hajj” – this is the month of the annual pilgrimage to Mecca, again when no warfare or fighting is allowed)
1. Muharram (“Forbidden” – it is one of the four months during which it is forbidden to wage war or fight)
The single month is
7. Rajab (“To respect” – this is another holy month when fighting is prohibited)

I am beginning to be more convinced as the facts on ground are diametrically opposed to peace, holiness and religion.

THAT is perfect.
Founder. Ideology. Ramadan. So simple. Words have meanings. Let’s use them correctly.

I think it would be a great idea if in towns all over the country during the month of Ramadan people would have an annual Pork-Fest and Wine-Tasting Celebration. Rent a couple of acres somewhere and have a festive time with pulled pork food contests, men dressing up like Crusaders, fake battles between Crusaders and muslims like the play shootouts between cowboys and lawmen in old west celebrations, a dunk Muhammad contest with somebody dressed like Muhammad sitting over a water tank with people throwing a ball to hit the lever to dunk him. Sell tickets to the event, make sure it’s on private property because good luck getting a City permit with all of the political correctness going on. I think it would be a great thing!
James Foard says
One thing I forgot to mention. We should call it the Ramadan Pork-Fest and Wine-Tasting Festival.
Haske says
Don’t be decieved, most of the terms such as holy, love, peace, etc use by muhammadans and quran have either different or opposite meanings. If a muslim say peace, to have to pray the father in heaven to give u the meaning of what he means.

Having worked and lived through many a Ramadan in the Middle East, I can assure JW posters that the Muslims eat like pigs (no offence to pigs intended ) during this period. They stay up all night long stuffing themselves with a last mad rush into the mess hall before their first morning prayer.
I remember reading that food imports into Gulf Countries go up some 300% during Ramadan. Very religious, those Ramadanians

Perhaps now the leaders would have wished they’d had civil law in place of sharia law?.

The Book of Death’…’Evil is thy name’…Is there one aya in the whole Q book where Allah shows compassion for kuffar? Treat them harshly, kill them wherever you find them, enslave their wives and children and steal anything not nailed down. And if anyone complains, kill him too because complainers are always kuffar, and don’t deserve to live.
There is no sane way to call this ‘good’
duh_swami says
Ramadan…Any day is a good day to kill filthy kuffar, who don’t deserve to live.

The so-called analysts refuse to see the reality before their very eyes and also refuse to learn the lessons of 1400 years of the history of Islam.

Muslims are enemy of humanity which the humanity refuses to recognize and say it boldly. This has been going on for last 1400 years and has picked up speed since 9/11. Muslims know very well we will hold them or their ROP responsible since they will immediately brand us as bigots and Islamophobes and of course we are afraid of such branding.
This clash of civilization with barbarians has to come to some fruition in our favor or we are all doomed!!

I wonder whether we ought to even capitalize the word allah for he truly does not exist. I refuse to capitalize the word satan. If I do, it’s by accident.
